He's definitely pushing his luck. I suppose you can handle it though and I better not meddle into it.
Meddle if you want - maybe it would convince him that it's nothing personal.
Alright, I won't hesitate next time.
And Bard was a lame-ass who didn't play any significant role in the story.
Yeah, if you call slaying the main adversary of the title not playing a significant role, then I suppose he is.
I was just very disappointed at how it was described in the book. It was something like: Everybody was fighting the war of five races, all hell broke loose AND IN THE MEANTIME Smaug flew over Laketown and Bard gets a lucky shot, kills him and afterwards he is crowned king. I can not remember Bard doing anything else in the plot.
It was the only thing in the book that irked me. I hope the film will improve that story element.
Was the master of Laketown evil-ish? I can't fully remember. It's been long since I read the book.
He was a coward and overcome with greed, he absconds with the cash.
Ah yes, that's what it was. Could be a good role for Stephen Fry, but I do hope he doesn't make it too comical.

I think Matt LeBlanc looks more like a James Dean kinda guy though.
Except he's still alive at 40 :P Dean didn't make it to 30.
Only to the age of 24 apparently. I guess his early death did help turning him into an icon for the youth.

Congrats! I've grown quite fond of that icon.

I think we're talking way back in 05 that the praporschik ranks were still hip around this place. Now about every regular here has become a Sup Commander years ago.
I remember when reaching Supreme Commander was cool.
Like I already stated before: It used to be an end point. Enough reason for some people to quit BPing. However, nowadays you're hardly in the top 200 and still hardly matter in BP land. You gotta keep on going if you want to impress anyone.
I'm thinking about shooting for the big 100k.
Yeah, 100k is a nice way to stop.
Thinking of some cool numbers. Perhaps something like 30k:70k?
He's 20k behind me and gains about 100 a week on me. That means about 200 weeks for him to go until he comes flying by. By that time I'll probably be retired from BPing, even if I'd decide to go on for a little longer after 100k.
Wow, 200 weeks? I expected him to get to you within two years providing both of you continue your B/P paces.
Yeah well my calculations are also provided we keep these rates constant. It might be shorter, but it will be a long time nonetheless. I will reach 100k somewhere late 2012 probably. I don't think he will have passed me yet by then.
Would be a nice thing to see for your third anniversary.
Oh yeah! :)
I highly recommend looking into expanding the list. I think top 150 will do nicely.
You mean for the Reviewers List? I could, but it'd be too inaccurate with the people I have right now. I'd need more usernames to track.
Good idea. I don't mind bimonthly updates for the VP list either, but I would like to see an update at least every once in a while, preferable at a constant rate.
Hey, I'm patient as much as the next guy (unless it's D-o-D :P) but it would help if we made a little push with some consistency for the updates.
Indeed. But fortunately there's less point comparing your own gains on the VP list if you just don't miss any deposits. You'll always get the max possible anyway.
I guess Smaug wasn't as resourceful as you, considering he lived a 1000 years and never came up with that idea.
lol what a dumbass.
He knew much, but he wasn't smart, that's for sure :p
[Insert Duke Nukem quote]
Shake it baby!
Blow it out your ass!
Are we really the only ones that are on our way to become quadlisted? I thought there might be a few fanatical posters out there who are also pretty far with BP and Experience when it comes to reaching 10k.
The only other potential is FattyWhale. He's less than 400 posts away and makes some posts on a regular basis. ReconRebel was so close to 10k posts but then we went inactive on the forums and eventually the site in general.
I was thinking ReconRebel as well, but indeed I haven't seen him around in ages. Shame he never got to 10k.
By the way, Ultor is another candidate right? Although if he keeps posting like he does, it'll still take him years to get those last 100 posts.

They do that? I've never seen a horse run into a burning barn before. I thought the one thing all animals had in common was that they would flee from fire.
Nah it common for them to. When they are scared they will go to a safe place which they think is the barn.
Ah. Of course it's rather stupid, but it makes some sense I guess.
I think it's about 16.5 - 17 million and Amsterdam has around 780,000 inhabitants. Other major cities are The Hague and Rotterdam with 500,000 and 600,000 inhabitants respectively. All these cities lie in a region called the 'Randstad', which is a region that takes up about a quarter of the country, but more than 7 million people live there. So naturally the other three quarter of the country isn't as populated.
So it's the case the most people live in the cities and most of the larger ones lie near the coast, right?
No most people live in the towns. There are only four real major cities. Utrecht is the last one with 300,000 inhabitants. Makes about 2.2 million in total people living in the 'big cities'. The rest live in minor cities or towns.
But yeah, most live near the coast. Has a lot to do with the harbors and the trading companies of the 17th century I guess.
Lol, well 1,000 miles away is a little excessive. The Netherlands is no bigger than 300 km long and 200 km wide (±180x125 in miles). If they're imported from the western borders of Germany then that won't be an awful lot of transportation.
Unlike the USA, most European countries aren't really able to maintain themselves with their own resources so hence why a lot of importing and exporting is going on.
OK that makes sense. I guess when there are tons of small countries you have to be really open to trade in your country. I guess I should be too surprised since the orange I ate this morning came from some other country rather than Florida or California.
Exactly. As a small country we are very dependant of importing and trading.
But sometimes I guess it is also for the taste. You know... oranges from this country taste better than the oranges from that country.
