Had I known it was going to be like this, I would have went for a job instead. Hell, getting an apprenticeship wouldn't have been so hard then and they're made for 16-19 year olds to gain experience. You know, the job applications that I applied to hundreds of and didn't get a single fucking job for it?

I think you talked about that, yes. I guess after the economical crisis it has gotten much harder for young people with 0 experience like us to get a job.

It's even sadder when I got a job at a school with ease and they ask for high expectations considering criminal record checks are needed as well as high quality work.

Well I can imagine they would do a criminal background check, because it would give the school a terrible reputation if it came to light that someone has a criminal record. For other companies and employers it might matter less cause they can just fire them and move along, but schools have a public function.

Ha, sounds like a good opportunity to dick around on Newgrounds while earning money at the same time :p If you don't have anything else to do that is.
Newgrounds is the last site I even want to go on at work. Even if no-one in the office is watching me I'm sure they log the sites the workers go on. Infact, Newgrounds could be blocked for all I know considering it's school computers.

Oh yes, chances are it is. A while ago I brought out my laptop at a McDonalds and I wanted to check Newgrounds, but it was blocked because one of the sites tags is 'adult content'. Most schools probably automatically block those.

So it just comes down to that if you want to get abilities like Break Damage Limit, you have to go through some painful sidequest to get it. But I also saw that once you have that skill, the main game becomes easy as fuck... So the only reason you might have to get them is for the sake of completing the game 100%.
To beat everything besides Nemesis, some arena fiends and the dark aeons, it's actually a walk in the park. However, if you really want to beat Penance you'll need the best customization from the weapons and armour. For American players, they have nothing to worry about since they didn't get dark aeons or Penance. That's actually a bummer for them since they missed out on great challenges.

Heh, yeah so they basically took out the two biggest challenges of the game.

The Spoony that died from the explosion after the FF VIII review? Makes some sense, but I don't think he explained it that well.
But why that Spoony turned evil and where the other Spoony came from makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Meh, it's a weak plot point so I shouldn't be surprised at the bigger plot holes Spoony puts in his own than FFVIII and FFX ever had.

Lol :p

Oh well, of course it's all for fun and he probably isn't too serious when he thinks it up.

Oh yes, that wasn't a bad system either. Unfortunately I never finished FFVI cause my save file got corrupted, but I remember I was busy teaching Terra and Cecil every magic spell as well as getting the last few espers I needed. Then I was gonna storm Kefka's castle.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Be sure to give that game a second chance.

Yeah, I want to, but I can't really motivate myself to go through almost the entire story AGAIN and collect all the espers AGAIN. Currently I got plenty of games still on my play list (one of them being the DS remake for FF IV). Once I'm done with those I might give the game another playthrough.

Possible - I know that mum wanted 6 kids, but was stopped by dad at two. Sometimes, I wish that he'd put his foot down after one, then it would just be me.

Ah yes, your brother troubles. Oh well, surely there must've a point somewhere where you two could get along quite well.

I'm guessing he's not catching much sleep because the kid often starts whining in the middle of the night.
Well, he's the most well adjusted baby I've ever met - he sleeps through seven hours at night, before waking for a feed, then back to sleep.

That sounds pretty good for a baby. He's a lucky guy then, the majority of the babies I meet are incredible whiners.

Not something you would guess, no. Most have a lock function somewhere on the outside of the device.
Yeah, and when I didn't see one I thought it doesn't have a key lock. After 2 or 3 years I discovered it by accident. Somehow the key lock activated itself in my pocket and I had no idea how it did that. So I had to take out the battery so I could operate it again.
Luckily I found a review where someone mentioned the key lock and how it works.

Lol. In a similar way I discovered the shuffle function of my iPod. Sometimes when I put it in my pocket, it shuffled to some other song. I didn't know what was going and put it back to the song I selected, but then it shuffled again as I put it back in my pocket. Turned out that it goes to shuffle mode if you shuffle it >.<

It's funny how that silence would probably attract a lot of attention from the viewers.
Yes, but it didn't work out. Or else I would remember the company. ^^

Yeah, and maybe that's why commercials tend to be loud rather than quiet. So that you will remember the jingles and company names.

Oh well, you'll probably find some time to get it once you're done studying.
Doubt it. :P

If you're going straight into applying for jobs then you won't.

Yeah, but you live in Hamburg. I live on some island with some small towns, about 20 km away from 'the big city' (Rotterdam). I know in Rotterdam the public transport is always available, but where I live there are only busses and they only come once an hour after 20:00. After midnight there are no busses anymore until five in the morning or so.
That's why I could never live in a small city.
My gf comes from a very small city (about 200 inhabitants or so) and every kid there gets his/her drivers licence as soon as possible. It's just not possible to get around there without a car.

Same here. Most people get it as soon as possible after they turn 18, and there are also a lot of 16-17 years olds driving around on scooters so that they won't have to cycle to school.

So going to parties with the bus isn't that handy since you'll have to leave at around midnight.
But going to parties by car isn't handy as well because you can't drink alcohol.

That's one of the major downsides indeed, but sometimes someone offers a place to sleep.

But even when I moved from Schleswig-Holstein (it's the federal state where I went to school) to Hamburg I cycled to school. 6.5km to get to school and 6.5 to go back home... 13 km a day was pretty tough the first few weeks, but then it took me only about 30 minutes (20 if I tried really hard) for one way.

Well it was about 8.5km for me, so 17km per day which usually took me 35 minutes or so for one way. Although I did have a very strong tailwind once and it took me only 12 minutes :p It sucked on the way back though =/

That's one of the major downsides indeed, but sometimes someone offers a place to sleep.
That's always an advantage, but I think I still wouldn't drink too much if I have to drive the next day.

Indeed that's still not a good idea. Although at New Years I simply went driving anyway after not sleeping at all and not drinking anymore for about five hours. I felt fine, but if there was an alcohol check somewhere I would've been screwed probably.

Come on. The bass is pretty awesome.
Nooo! Never!
Says the one who listens to german schlager... interesting. :P

No that's just when:
DUUUUUUUHUUUUUUUHUUUUU
DU ALLEIN KANNST MICH VERSTEHEN!

comes up. Or:

VERDAMMT ICH LIEB DICH! ICH LIEB DICH NICHT!

Although that's more German disco music.

Good time have to end some time. After 10k Blams I'll see where I'm at. I might shoot for 37k B/P in honor of gfox or hover at Top 100. It just depends.

Yeah I think so. You know, this guy before he changed his username.

Yeah seriously. I'm eking about 8 or so blams when about 20-30 could be had. :/

8,000 Saves.

Which means my Save to Blam ratio is nearing 8:1. I wish blams were more common..

I'll do a list in a few hours.

Oh well, it looks like all the countries are in a bad shape right now and the EU is under great pressure with euro becoming instable. It does feel like something big is gonna happen sooner or later.

It makes you wonder if there's a stable country right now. Looks like we'll all go back to square one eventually.

I'm not complaining about the criminal background check. That's perfectly understandable and not an issue for me at all since I've never been convicted. I'm just saying how a higher standard job was easy for me to get while an apprentice was im-fucking-possible.
I guess there are lots of new young people entering that market every year, so perhaps your chances are never that high to begin with?

For apprenticeships, the usual age range they ask for is 16-19. I started applying to hell to them at the age of 18 and even got turned down because someone had more experience than me. You're taking these courses for the fucking experience.

I remember the school I went to blocking Newgrounds and even some Google results. I'm not talking about porn searches which would obviously be censored, I'm talking about a time when a friend of mine searched for Slipknot and Cradle of Filth and got a block message. I guess the school is aware of their suckiness. :P
Lol :p

My school also went to great lengths to block every site that provided some form of entertainment. Sites like Youtube got blocked, and even some sites that could easily provide useful information for students.

YouTube is one that either gets blocked or doesn't. I don't know about the kids but the school computers I use don't have YouTube blocked. The only site I know is definitely blocked to both students and staff is Facebook. Heh, this is reminding me of how the college were on and off with blocking YouTube.

Well, not really taking out. The European had them added in to make up for the longer wait.
Sucks for the Americans :p

In one way, yes.

But usually it's the Europeans that get the worst and have to wait the longest, so it's nice they do something back for us.

But not for Pokemon Black/White. We're getting it just before America does.

I still find it hypocritical when he's criticising games for plotholes and then has plotholes for his own sketches. I'm still wondering what was Spoony thinking when he came up with the Black Lantern Spoony character. It's as inspiring as Irate Gamer's Evil Gamer character. Yeah, I'm going that far. It's things that this that make me understand the haters of That Guy With the Glasses.
Oh well, at least he's not actually making a ton of money by passing off a cheaply made, poorly written film as proper cinema material.

You know, I can't remember if Spoony still has a job or not. I'm all for video makers getting a bit of money in return for their videos but when it came to critiquing Spoony, it was regardless of how much money he's earning.

Thank you very much for standing against this as well. I may be retired from the portal but I'll still do what I can on my Toohot100 alt. The retarded voters were what made my retirement hard to reach on that day and it was even to the point if one particular flash passed, I would have quit NG for good. Even gfox was ready to do that as well. Good thing the crappy flash got blammed.

I used to B/P very slowly back in the day. I never sped up that rate unless it was Clock Day, or I saw something really stupid that I wanted to blam.
Joining and ranking out of the NGPD really made me start B/Ping a lot more. I must have looked strange, being a level 29 in a club of lower 20's and mid-teens. But my time there really helped.

Cootie and Ronald-McDonald-LoL are two others I know that vote the right way as well.

To me it isn't about having the right attitude it is about doing the right thing. When I first came to NG the only garbage that would get pass would be what the Spam crews would push. Now it is almost everything because people want points and they don't care which they get.

I read many threads about people complaining about this shit and while some of them do it because they just want points a lot of the newer people said that they started doing the right thing but stopped when they noticed their votes didn't stop spam. One of the weaker voter even said that they feel their vote doesn't have any effect on underjudgement flash which actually made me feel sad that some people vote against the way they feel because they feel it has no effect when they couldn't be more wrong. When a flash is underjudgement their votes have more effect then any other time!

The only thing vote can do after judgement is get them ever TOTW, UDOTW, and a Daily award or weekly award. But in order for any of these flash movies to get anythin of this they need to PASS JUDGEMENT if they don't pass they can't get this can they? It is also because of this attitude people have that the spammer continue to spam and get away with it. It is also why some other people get into the idea of spamming as well.

But until I get my personal goal I in it to win it.

Hell yes! Better buy the CCR box then. :P
Cross-Tie Walker isn't that great, but Lodi is pretty cool.
I think I'll dig through my dads collection. He must have some more CCR CD's somewhere.

The CCR Box isn't that expensive. After all you'll get all 7 albums of CCR!

Lol. See? It's sometimes good to read the instruction manual. :P
Well I did figure it out by going through the menu and option screens and finding the option that could that shuffle function off. So no manuals were needed ;)

Oh. :(

Yeah, and maybe that's why commercials tend to be loud rather than quiet. So that you will remember the jingles and company names.
Yes, but there are some jingles I would like to forget. ^^
True. There are many commercial jingles that I'd like to forget :(

"Crazy Frog" comes to my mind here.

If you're going straight into applying for jobs then you won't.
Well the situation is as follow:
If I get my drivers license, I have to drive. It's pretty important for a beginner to practice driving.
But even if I had my license, there's the problem of not having a car. My gf needs her car to get to work and a second car would just be silly.
Surely you may borrow it sometimes, right? As long as you pay for the gas?

And how should my gf get to work then?
Also, whenever I am riding along in the car, we share the gas money. ;)
Also also she said (half joking): "I will not let you drive the car when you are still a beginner." >_>
After all it's a factory new car.

Even if we had a cheap second car, I'd have nowhere to drive to. Driving to Uni is out of the question. Frist of all, I would never find a place to park near the Uni, second it wouldn't be much faster as if I simply go there by public transportation.
No parking spots there? That's weird. Every building on our universities' campus has its own parking place, which are never full. Also, it's longer for me to go via public transport due to the waiting times between busses, trains, subways etc.

There are about 32.000 students imatriculated at the University of Hamburg, plus the buldings are quite old. So no, there aren't too many parking spots.
Also, there's a train going from where I live to the University. Takes me about one hour overall to get from door to door.

Well it was about 8.5km for me, so 17km per day which usually took me 35 minutes or so for one way. Although I did have a very strong tailwind once and it took me only 12 minutes :p It sucked on the way back though =/

Lol, I nearly always had head wind. Which was quite strange, since there where quite a few 90 degree turns on one part of the way. XD

Another advantage of not having a drivers license: I cannot lose it! XD
