Maiden have announced UK tour dates and damn, it's a good thing they have a show in Manchester. Otherwise, I would have had to miss out on karaoke night for the next London meet up. Both Maiden's show in the UK and the karaoke night for the London meet are on 5th August.

Copyright is a very complex field. Also, laws differ from country to country, so I cannot give a definite answer to that. ^^
But no, basically you don't have to make money off the stuff you copied to get sued for infringement.

I think still awarding points is a little stupid in such a situation. You shouldn't give students the idea that they can get away with it easily.

Sometimes it isn't that easy to prove that someone copied a solution, for example in maths. ^^

Oh yeah, true. Math formulas can be used freely, and of course people tend to use the same formulas to get to a solution.

And of course there's always that one guy who's a math genius and solves all problems within 30 minutes and all other students just copy the solution. ^^

My B/P is especially starting to slow. I became active again as Private, I'm half way to staff sergeant now and +30 is like a thing of the past. I'd be curious to see a graph with the actual distribution of b/p, but I'm assuming by the way this has been going that the top 1k is quite a bit more spread out than the top 2k.

I did the math earlier this week, and if I can keep a steady pace of 50 b/p per weekday I should be at 18,000 by the end of next year. The threshold for making it into the top b/p list seems to be about there, so it's a good number to shoot for. Level 30 will take longer.

Makes sense I guess. But due to the fact that it's different per country and a lot of reports and papers and such are distributed internationally, I can imagine it's indeed complex.

Oh yeah! Those were the days. You always got these posts here where people celebrated their level up and then everybody was like: "Lol level down again" the next day. And I remember there was this one guy here who celebrated leveling down (was once a level 18 or something, but leveled down to 15 eventually).

I think the gap might be around 2,000 points by now. I should update my blog with the level requirements... =/

Last time I checked it was about 1800 points and that was in late October, which is about six months to get to Level 10. :S
