Yeah, it's been raining off and on for the past week and a half. It's very unusual for this time of year when it's suppose to be 100°F with intense sun. I like the clouds and the lower temps, but can do without the daily rain.

Major props to the achievement. Apparently you have the same birthday as me but i'm just turning 19 today which doesn't have much significance other than feeling older. Also I eclipsed the 10,000 medal points mark today with my free time.

Aye, it's sad to see basic English failing. I'm just glad the USA isn't suffering alone.
As the ENGLISH language, it's a shame to see many Brits not taking their language seriously.

It can't be much worse than the southern US. Not trying to be stereotypical, but each time I vacation down there I hear English being butchered in some new, unexpected ways.

Request an audio review. I could use some motivation.

Oh, it was 103 degrees here yesterday. I would have loved to run in 80 degree weather. Luckily I was inside at work all day with industrial sized air conditioners. Then the pool water was 87 degrees, which was the exact temperature at 10:00 PM so I decided to go swimming then.

Yeah, I feel that. My list has me run six miles each day, though not today because it was burning outside. When I get home I swear to myself I will never run again, and the next day I look forward to it.

I've learned that the best place to not only run, but to exercise in general is the swimming pool. I can do 100 or so laps around the pool and then turn into the current and run against that. Not only is it better for the body because there isn't any impact on the knees and because you get the resistance of the water pushing back, but it's also nice because you never get hot.

I also do my underwater crunches in the pool because you can extend much further than you could when doing them on the ground. I can get about 30 in on one breath.

My list also includes audio reviewing which I've, um, not been doing.

Yeah, reviewing... I might get to that today.. I skipped yesterday..

There was one the other day made by some unlikely spammer which was a discussion about humanity's role in the ecosystem and our effect on the planet, but again that was buried relatively quickly because there weren't enough people who were willing to actually write a more thought-out post in response to the subject matter.

Which reminds me of the peer pressure topic that I made. You were one of the few people who actually posted the way that the topic was designed to be posted in. I personally thought it was a good topic, but it just lacked posts because it actually involved people to think. It probably made people realize that they were more of a loser than they had thought they were as well though.

At 7/5/10 08:17 AM, Auz wrote: Haha yeah I hear many people are angry over that and hate Luis Suarez now. I think it was a fairly clever move and I most likely would have done the same. Ghana gained the ultimate opportunity afterwards to win the game, but they failed to score the penalty so I think they only got themselves to blame for their elimination. However, I don't like how they should parade Suarez around either, because it is sort of cheating and shouldn't be rewarded/encouraged in any way.
Exactly - FIFA needs to make rules to deal with this eventuality. In the days when one of the most respected umpires can cost a young pitcher a perfect game in baseball, a good angle to view the ball still means that he's the only man in the stadium that didn't see the goal (We wouldn't have gone further than that round, but it's the principle!) and yet a tennis player can challenge a line call and have a decision in seconds.

Yes it might have been more fair if Ghana was simply awarded the victory. Or maybe Suarez should've been banned for all the remaining matches this WC. I think measures like that would discourage players a lot more to cheat themselves into victory. Although perhaps not in Suarez case as they would've been eliminated anyway, but if you take Henry's case he might have thought twice about it...

On the bright side though, Uruguay has even less of a chance to make it to the finals now that they are missing one of their star players.
It makes little difference.

Maybe it did, considering it was fairly close yesterday with 3-2 on the scoreboard :p

Would that have made a difference? I don't know, that guy is almost 36 by now (?), is way past his peak and was never such a great player to begin with if you ask me. He could take wonderful free kicks, but that's about it for him.
He'd have still worked harder than most of the players on the pitch. That's the thing about him - his work rate.

He's a bit like Kuyt then I suppose, not such a fantastic players but a very hard worker which generally starts to pay off at the end of matches. I guess Beckham can also give a morale boost.

Are they arrogant pricks? I never hear that many bad things about them. I know van Persie liked Wenger very much because he gave him the chance to grow and become such a great player.
Ferguson kicked a boot in the dressing room and hit Beckham in the face with it. Wenger is a bigger whiner about referees than Jose. They'd booth be beaten into a cocked hat by Brian CLough - the greatest manager that England never had.

I see. Well what Ferguson did can happen I suppose, if a coach is really pissed (although he should keep calm). But whining to referees is a bit sad.

Never heard of Brian Clough by the way.

Yes, and very painful probably.

Yep. I'm not planning on 'pulling a Bahamut', so I hope someone else will win next time. Problem is, too many people here I would want to vote for :(
I've already got my mind set for the next person to vote for Most Underrated.

I'll still have to see. Maybe it'd be clever to vote for the same most of us vote for, but on the other hand I don't want to be accused of helping with mass voting. So I'll just wait until the end of the year and see then.

I don't know, he seems like a good improviser to me and most of his videos always come off as spontaneous efforts (although they are probably not).
If you watch the videos, you can tell he's going through it for the first time but he does get help from his fans so he doesn't get stuck for days like I would have been.

Yes he often says that he got comments of people who explained this and this. I'm quite amazed he still reads so many of his comments, because he sometimes gets like hundreds of them for a single video (and then there might still be a ton of emails). Must be very time consuming to plough through all them.

I just think they shouldn't have made spells like ... items. Magic became hardly useful in the game as using the stronger spells would only weaken your character.
That was my biggest gripe with the junction system as well as magic. No MP so it was item-like which was rather annoying, especially when you needed to get the rarer magic spells.

Yeah, and I thought the magic spells were watered down anyway. Even the stronger spells often didn't do as much as damage as GF's or regular attacks, even with a maxed out magic stat.

Spoony was also right about drawing magic. It slows down battles sooooo much. I know the card and item refining was a much easier method, but I found that I generally still went for using the Draw command to obtain magic spells. The system might have worked better if you could obtain like 30 spells in one draw instead of 9 max.

Rikku indeed seems to be there just for fan service. Like when she got out of that wetsuit =/
The game was made in Japan so it's no surprise to me. That's actually considered as normal over there. :P Something tells me Spoony wouldn't last a day in Japan.

Yeah I guess so *thinking of Dead or Alive... =/*

And hahaha Spoony in Japan would make some hilarious reviews and vlogs I think XD

Haha oh well. It seems like a great party to celebrate with some friend though.

Strange. You would think that after 20 years the differences would've almost vanished, since Germany put so much effort in making both sides equal.
Well, have a look at Belgium for example. This country has even bigger problems within their borders.
Also I think it's not so much that not enough effort is put into making both sides equal but there still seems to be a "wall" inside the heads of some (mostly older) people.

I see. I know older people here still dislike Germans too for what they did in WW2, but I guess that will vanish as their generation fades

Didn't do too well in the cricket today - didn't bowl, scored 2 runs off 1 ball, which was nice to close the innings out, but when we lost by 23 runs, it wasn't as good as I'd hoped.

Still, back to it and now perhaps I can concentrate on catching Bahamut... for pentapoints and B/P!

Considering the amount of posting and ranting you do, I'm not surprised. I should really do more writing.
I don't think it's to do with my rants and such, I just know the differences very well and not make me look like an ass.

Well I'm sure they don't hurt. I'm actually really jealous that you have the patience to make them so frequently. I have trouble finishing whatever I start writing. :/

Oh, it was 103 degrees here yesterday. I would have loved to run in 80 degree weather. Luckily I was inside at work all day with industrial sized air conditioners. Then the pool water was 87 degrees, which was the exact temperature at 10:00 PM so I decided to go swimming then.

It doesn't sound very hot but the humidity and lack of wind made doing anything outside for more than ten minutes impossible, at least for a Chicagoan like me. :D

The thing is I'm a pretty poor swimmer. I can't even fathom doing what you do. Besides, I'm a cross country runner, so actually running is the most practical thing I can do. Thankfully I usually don't have to run more than two miles competitively so the extra running will really pay off.

My list also includes audio reviewing which I've, um, not been doing.
Yeah, reviewing... I might get to that today.. I skipped yesterday..

I got one in yesterday and was too exhausted to write another one. Why is it so difficult?

Request an audio review. I could use some motivation.

I am not Fellatio Cunnilingus Filch-batter, the porno dealing gnome! Google Dragon Porn, if you dare.
Dare? That was such a simple task to me!

I know, but it's one of those tasks that I shouldn't have to do under reasonable circumstances - like anything Kiff does for Zapp.

From Nuts to you, I have that icon on a mug, with the slogan "Extra medication for all!" I have to say that this kind of humour is great if you've had a bad day and back in the day I had quite a few bad days :P

But we need to take action, rather than saying something like "It's alright, as the Dutch beat them in the Semis anyway."

On the bright side though, Uruguay has even less of a chance to make it to the finals now that they are missing one of their star players.
It makes little difference.
Maybe it did, considering it was fairly close yesterday with 3-2 on the scoreboard :p

I still think you guys were too strong. I personally didn't agree with my dad's summary that van Bronkhorst's goal was goal of the tournament. I'm still behind Shabalala's opener, because he ran a long way for it and still had the control to slot it in the top corner from 20 years.

Whining about referees to the media is even worse. Both of these managers practice it.

Never heard of Brian Clough by the way.

"Old Big 'ead" was the best manager ever to grace English football. He had loads of memorable quotes, such as "I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business, but I'd say I was in the top one."

Just have to say congrats for this. You're a machine. I remember when you weren't even at EGSC, had less than 10,000 posts and were level 33 at the redesign. All seems so long ago now... I can definitely see you becoming one of the all-round highest ranked users.

Well, like I said to Fro the other night, I want to get to #1 in one list or another over my time here and it might as well be for pentapoints :P

Thanks very much - I wouldn't say that I'm quite a machine yet, but yeah - Level 33 at the redesign seems ages ago now and I've not really looked back since then, to be honest...
