You'll like all of them. They all have be frontpaged or in the Top 50 at one point or another.
About some your picks: French Erotic Film was a nice little gem to watch. I usually only view my animutilations from DrunkMagiKoopa but I forgot that TmsT use to do them also ages ago. The Madness one; I didn't see that one on Madness Day 07 but it's really good. A lot better than some of the official Madness movies I would dare to say. And oh yeah, YAFM. Thanks for the good luck wishes guys. Answers of the exam were published today and it seems I have passed it with a pretty good grade.
Now by passing this one I have officially passed all the courses for the first year at my uni. I don't know if that's considered a big deal in the UK and Germany, but over here it is. You get a little diploma and they sometimes hold a ceremony for all the people who completed the first year. I have a book somewhere with all the (main) meaning(s) of all the U2 songs up to around 2000. I wish I could find it, then you wouldn't have to look up such things as I could confirm them before I hit "post." #;-}>
Really? That'd probably be an interesting book to read through. I know Bono always writes his lyrics very carefully and especially their earlier songs have some of the strangest lyrics at first glance.
Oh yeah. I've listened to War from start to finish like you suggested, but that was already some time ago. I think my opinion was that it was a good album, but I wouldn't put it among my favorites.Ah, good that you've listened to it once, at least. Give it another shot sometime. The first 4 tracks are right up there with any 4-straight tracks on any U2 album, IMO. SBS, NYD, and Like a Song... are some of their strongest work, and Seconds is pretty good, too (one of the few ones with Edge on lead vox). And a few of the later tracks past the strong opening are good, too (such as Two Hearts Beat as One), though some are a bit sleepy, which is something TUF has in common with War in the later parts of the album.
I remember that I thought Seconds was a bit strange, but I liked it. Two Hearts Beat as One I know from the live album (Under A Blood Red Sky). It's a pretty nice song in my opinion. Like a Song is nice as well. Very energetic song with some great guitar-work imo. And obviously I know about SBS and NYD already. They're great songs, but you shouldn't hear them too often.
Is I Threw A Brick Through A Window on it as well by the way? My dad recently gave me a live DVD of some of their earliest performances and they opened quite nicely with that song. Then they followed it up with A Day Without Me, one of my favorite Boy songs.
Of course, TUF also has Bad on it, which is up there in the "best U2 songs evar" rankings, especially the live version (which isn't on the album, but I like the album version a lot more than some fans seem to...).
Which one? I suppose you mean the Wide Awake in America version. That was a nice version indeed, but I think Bad always does well live. Personally I love the Rattle and Hum version. The Boston DVD version of the Elevation tour was pretty nice as well, but it wasn't as elaborate as the other two. It went over into Where the Streets Have No Name quite nicely though.
I still gotta give the other two a full listen. Perhaps I should put them on my iTunes.No October or TUF yet, eh? October can wait... TUF cannot! ;_;
No I still haven't listened to either of the two. I just remembered October is the only album my dad doesn't have in his U2 collection, so getting that one on my iPod is gonna be a bit more difficult. Perhaps I'll just look around on Youtube or something. As for TUF, I'll see if I can upload it soon.
Well that's usually about the point where newer/better/updated games and sequels are brought out, right? And they'll start to disappear from the shelves in the store.I tend to play most games 3-5 years after they come out. Cheaper and less taxing on the PC since you're playing older games on your newer (hopefully) PC.
Keeping up with the Joneses was fun for awhile in the 90s, but now I prefer to upgrade my PC as rarely as possible, and older (but gooder #;-}>) games = the easiest way to avoid having to do keeping-up-with-the-Joneses-style upgrading constantly.
I couldn't care less about keeping up with the Joneses :p My current PC is almost ten years old and still working pretty well, so I see no need to waste money on pointless upgrades.
And yeah I only buy older games as well at the moment. 60 euros for one game is a fortune for a poor student like me. Can't bother getting one of the latest generation consoles anymore either.
Heh, yeah the question is if she even wants that account. If she cared about levels she'd probably prefer to start at level 1 and work her way up herself. And if she doesn't care she probably wouldn't mind to start at level 1 either. No, she clearly doesn't. But you never know... she might one day see a flash movie or play a flash game she wants to comment on SO BADLY that she signs up for her own account. I won't hold my breath, though.
She doesn't care about levels and exp or anything. The only statwhoring I've seen her doing is on last.fm, and it's because she likes to boost the playcount of her favourite musicians there... there'd be no such "wanting to help her fave music artists" motivation behind any of the stats on NG, so.... no dice.
Well maybe if she wants to support an author she likes on NG? But if she's not that interested in flash games/movies in general then I wouldn't hold my breath either.
gfox catch-up part 2
Hope I didn't forget anything.
Yeah. I think I would've liked it more if it seemed made out of wood rather than gold.Exactly. Maybe mostly wood with a BIT of gold trim/accents. #;-}>
</bow construction & decoration 101>
Indeed, with a bit of gold trim to make it looks prettier. But pure gold just looks lame, plus I don't think you could even make a decent bow out of it in reality anyway.
The Zelda sword is probably my least favorite of the swords, but still a decent level icon. The least good sword is still > most other weapons in level icons. #;-}>
True. Plus it's sort of similar to the old level 24 icon, which was quite a popular one if I recall correctly.
But yeah, it's not as good as the level 42 or 55 (or is it 56? Can't remember) swords, but still decent.
I agree. The other two just look more kick-ass and less... toy-ish.
Yep. I was at exactly 555 flash reviews and 190 responses at midnight. As you can see I haven't done much reviewing anymore ever since.Cool. Yeah... I hear that. I think I've reviewed about 1 or 2 flashes per half-year on average for the past 2 years. I need to get back at reviewing Bahamut's flashes that he wanted me to review two years ago or so when I was last doing them (in fairness to myself, I did review two clusters of 15 of his flashes each, for a total of around 30 or more... but then I never ended up doing the last 15 he gave me to do)....
Just once or twice I year I usually get this review fever where I review several dozen in a couple of weeks time. Then I quit for like a half-year again or so. It's usually around summer- and Christmasbreak, when I have not much to do.
That reminds me by the way, I still got some Bahamut flashes to review myself if I ever wanna climb up the the responses ladder.
At 2/15/10 12:43 PM, Auz wrote:Yeah....At 2/13/10 02:46 AM, gfoxcook wrote:Hehe I think many kids don't like the music their parents listen to at first. But the 80's music my dad always turned on when we went on vacation started to grow on me over the years. And it also helps that I now actually know who those songs are from.
And yeah, when you don't know that this song is by this artist, and hey, that other song happens to be from that artist, too... it's a bit harder to get into music, no matter the genre.
True. Still, it's pretty odd to me that you would suddenly like a song much more when you find out it's from a band you like.
Radio is fine for listening to music, whether it's music you already know or not... but to truly delve into individual artists deeply, nothing beats diving into an album on your own instead of listening piecemeal from someone else playing a track or two or the radio playing only scattered singles...
Yeah they only play the popular tracks anyway while sometimes the bands' best work is actually in the lesser known parts of the albums (look at U2 for example). Still, you gotta take your time if you really wanna dig through a bands albums and I usually don't feel like taking that time.
The 60's and 70's I just went on exploring by myself. I think they're ultimately my favorite music decades, and I still got a lot to discover.Throw in the 80s and you have a deal. BEST. THIRTY. YEARS. OF. MUSIC. EVAR. #;-}>
Agreed. Although the 80s did have some crap music here and there though and imo it is the point where music started to go downhill (slowly). Early 90s were still okay, but after that...
So, it's like 6 weeks later... listened to any LZ4 since then? #;-}>Look, Black Dog is a great song, but I really wouldn't say it's better than Stairway. As for R&R, it definitely isn't. Part of this is just that I'm so damned tired of that song after the last 5 years of it being used in 80% of Cadillac advertisments on TV here in America, but... ugh... so tired of R&R.Alright then. I'll just listen to all of them and see which one I like most :p
And actually... my fave song on that album is When the Levee Breaks (so I pick none of the three above, anyway).
I did listen to them, but again: it was long ago. I thought I liked Black Dog most actually, but I can't remember that well. Gotta listen to them again. I suppose I also need to go dig through some of their other albums. Or is LZ4 really their best?

Down to 664 as I type this, so this post will bring it back to 665. Weird. It's a shame there's no way to know which posts are getting removed; no way of knowing what to avoid doing in the future. I know from being on the other side of another forum that it's unrealistic to expect personal messages each time a forum post is deleted, but I think it would be useful to have a repository of deleted posts in your account so you can see what gets a post deleted when you may not be expecting it to happen.

I did and I commented.
And you think they'd shut down their servers before they go out of business? The number of users they had increased by a large margin last year. It's as likely as Newgrounds going out of business. Maybe even less...Do you really think there's a possibility of Valve going out of business? There's always a possibility. But they don't even have to go out of business to shut down the steam servers. ;)
Servers shutting down is a common thing in IT. Blizzard is still in business as well, but they shut down the servers for playing Diablo 1 online a long time ago.
Of course, Diablo 1 is an old game, but as I've said: If they ever think the servers for Steam cost too much they will shut them down. Now I don't think they will shut them down in the near future, but there's always the possibility that one day you can't play the games you bought just because there are no servers anymore.
But we're talking about a single dollar bill.Nah, the word filters to make everyone talk about Kevin Bacon is much worse. But it only lasted for a day while the dollar bills last for years.
Even a single dollar bill lasts for years. :P
Slayer are just as important, dammit!IT. IS. IMPORTANT!It is. But not as important as the exams.
I don't think so, but we have been to that point already. :P
Yeah, there will be some obvious ones but the most obvious one I could have done was doing something for myself. I knew everyone would get that so easily so I thought about others. If you did get them all right, then that's only one person so far who found them all. And yes, two were the same but they're two different people so it still counts as two.Sadly I didn't find any on my own. The 37-one was quite obvious though, I should've thought of that. ^^
The most obvious one would have been Pimp as he's the first user on the list.
And I was sad to see that my name didn't link to the band Haggard. :(

Great news. :)
Now by passing this one I have officially passed all the courses for the first year at my uni. I don't know if that's considered a big deal in the UK and Germany, but over here it is.
No. First year won't get you nothing. The "Grundstudium" (or "basic studies") lasts at least 4 semesters (for Bachelor you need 6 semesters).

Your welcome. It wasn't easy making Big Papi go for 0-7 in the past two games.
Comply, or die - attempts to trick us will result in death.
I don't think he was trying to trick them but really trying to smile however couldn't under such duress.
I think Zipperfish.com still operates and churns out pieces. It's just a case of not getting the pieces uploaded to NG any more, sadly.
Look's like they turned into a video blog more than anything which is sad. I preferred them when they were churning out their own content. And judging by Zipperfish's latest tweet they might not be doing too well:
"I wish I had more followers. Then I could be somebody. Then ppl would love me."
Yikes!

Knowing me, I wouldn't be surprised
How will I get bored of life anyway?I'd rather it be never. :PWouldn't we all? Until we get bored, that is.
We're only young. We might get bored at some point. Mind you, Dragons usually live a lot longer than humans :P

It's said, how it's spelled - otherwise, it would be hyphenated, as in co-operative.

There is a way - look up. Don't keep telling us what Pimp is doing. If "he" is so bothered about hitting Level 59, then I'm sure that account is capable of posting it in here.

Well, we'll have to see if they still want to make perverted little flash. I could just use a game of "pussy or raw meat" right about now :P
