Well I didn't win the competition, but I knew that once I went down and saw the huge guys lifting down there. I did do good personally though and the whole reason I was there was to beat my personal bests for the year and to donate to charity so I'm very happy with the results. :)

Bench: 340 lbs.
Deadlift: 405 lbs.
Squat: 375 lbs.

3rd in Bench
4th is Squat
5th in Deadlift

Out of about 20 guys. I probably would have done much better, but a big group of guys came in half way through the competition to compete. I didn't see how they did though because I had to head out early for class.

So yeah, I've done more on all three of these before, but I haven't lifted with my legs since high school (like 4 years now) so I was pretty happy with the results. It's time to get back to my old form again and maybe play some semi-pro football next summer like before.

Grade Point Average. It's basically a conversion of an A to 4 B to 3 C to 2 D to 1 and F 0 which is weighted to your credits and averaged. So when Fro says he has a 3.75 GPA you know he is doing well compared to me if I say I have a 2.8 GPA average.

You know, I always think Americans are way more focused on doing great in school and getting good grades and such. Here it doesn't matter much actually. People usually just aim for the 6/10 grades and be happy with them :p

For most people it's fine as long as you don't fall below 2.0; you can be put on Academic Suspension if you do. For others going to Graduate School or Medical School who are competing for spots then it's best you have the highest possible grades like 3.5+.

Ah yeah that's the same here for schools like those. Lots of people like to do medical studies so if they're not averaging 8/10 for all their grades they might not be allowed in. Falling below a certain average doesn't matter though, luckily.

You have to remember that the professor sets up what is an A, B, C .... One professor can have it that 93% and above is an A while another 90%, or have it set to a Bell Curve where the median of students will earn a C.

It's 28 days per annum (Four weeks), with seven days taken off for the statutory holidays, thus meaning I've got 21 days to play around with. I might take a few of them soon...

I do seem to recall a time when "Poker Face" was on constant rotation on virtually every radio station, thankfully I've since acquired a CD player for my car.

My cousin and her friends all seem to be drawn to Lady Gaga after they found out she, apparently is of high intelligence. Personally I'd prefer Rihanna, Gaga has yet to impress me.

Really? Since your GPA is so important it sounds kinda strange to me to not have a standard for those grades. Also that Bell Curve is kinda lame. I think some tutors occasionally applied it in our school as well, but not many students liked it. Theoretically you could score 80% correct on a test, but fail anyway because the majority scored higher =/

In my opinion a grade should always be an indication of how well you know the material and not how well you do compared to other students.

GPA is really just an overall look into your college work. It is important, but can't tell the whole story. Also, the grades are set differently it really gives some leeway for each professors to set up the course they wanted it. If it's a hard course they can move the standards down and vice versa for an easy one.

Also, I believe the only class that I had a Bell curve in was a Calculus III course where people were averaging around 60% so in that case it help but it's really rare and only some math teachers tend to do it.
