Well, I had history classes in Texas, Japan, and Pennsylvania (at 4 schools--elementary (TX), middle (Japan), high (PA), and college (TX part 2)) where discussing the actual events and the ramifications of them was more important than memorising dates... for the most part... but even so, I'm pretty sure dates ranging from 500 BC to 1900 AD also figured in. With heavy emphasis on a bit o' Greece, Rome, some 1066 comes to mind, and then a shitton of 1400s, 1500s, 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s....

The old level 23 is definetly among the flop 10 level icons, but so is the level 49 icon.

The old level 23 is above and beyond anything the current 49 (or any other current level icon) could aspire to be... for one thing, that level 23 icon lasted for 2-3 years by the time the redesign hit.

If I had been that high in levels back then I might have stopped depositing just to avoid that level icon.

At least any "bad" level in the current system doesn't last THAT long. (... yet?)

Well, I had history classes in Texas, Japan, and Pennsylvania (at 4 schools--elementary (TX), middle (Japan), high (PA), and college (TX part 2)) where discussing the actual events and the ramifications of them was more important than memorising dates... for the most part... but even so, I'm pretty sure dates ranging from 500 BC to 1900 AD also figured in. With heavy emphasis on a bit o' Greece, Rome, some 1066 comes to mind, and then a shitton of 1400s, 1500s, 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s....
