Level 32! I got this a few days ago, but I wanted to post it along with the catch-ups...

Anyway, this is how the Guns N' Roses concert was, in my opinion.

Listening to:
U2 - One

I got addicted to this song recently. :)

What about Bastian Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Ballack...? How are the other players doing right now?

At 3/7/10 01:26 AM, Sir-Nuts wrote: The German team might seem disorganized, but the individual quality shows up when it gets real. ;)
The german team always plays a lot better once the tournament starts. Just before WC 06 germany got beat by Italy 1-4, the game was just horrible. But in the tournament suddendly the team didn't play that bad at all. ^^

I don't know, maybe the home field advantage gave the German team a boost... Either way, in 06, Zidane messed with Brazil's plans once again... good thing that he retired. :P

Champions in '10? Who knows, right? =)
Would be great. XD

I have high hopes on Honduras winning this year. :)

I'd be happy if either Germany, Italy, Uruguay and, of course, Brazil won it. Family stuff. :)
I don't know why, but I just don't like the brazilian team. I never liked them even though the world's best footballers come from brazil.

You know, not every Brazilian fancies the national squad either... I mean, our coach was highly contested two years ago, some claim that Brazil plays "for results" (a 1-0 is more than enough)... I'm cheering for Brazil, of course, mostly for some players rather than the team itself.

I mean, I like the individual players (it's hard not to like them when you watch them play ^^), but as a team I find them very unfriendly.

Maybe because we complain too much while playing. Like claiming for yellow cards, delaying the game... being bastards. :P

Oh wow, that's lovely! Can Faggard and I meet someday? :P
When is the next gay parade in Brazil? I bet he'll be there. :P

It's too far from where I live. :(

Oh, and I think that our gay parade is the biggest one in the world. I'm not sure if we should be proud of that, anyway. :P

Yeah, he was definitely very immature, although it seems like there's something missing from the LUL without him. Even if he seemed a bit of a twat, he definitely had a place.

Maybe not epic, but possibly as patient as him. I mean, going through so many pages takes some effort and concentration from anyone. I find myself being delayed by TF2 constantly, like now, for example. :P

Ah, great. But how does it work when you're a Medic / Engie?
Medic - Syringe Gun to find the props. Sadly, you can't heal hunters.

Hmm, not a good idea. How will you know what is a prop and what isn't? Only with the Blutsauger, if a "+3" shows up in your health.

Engineer - Build dispensers to heal your allies. Will come in handy but I'd rather play as other classes. However, I did see some Engineers building sentries but I'm not sure if they do anything in PropHunt.

Might be handy, indeed, but it shouldn't be very fun for the engie, though. At least there are no sappers. :)

Oh, did they fix the ability to shoot as a prop (sometimes)?
Not sure if that glitch has been fixed but they can shoot when they're the last prop remaining.

Hmm, maybe it was that all along. I've seen some props shooting sometimes, although I'm not sure if they were the last one or not.

Either way, I think being the captain only boosts the players morale, so it doesn't matter that much.
Doesn't make him a better player though :(

Maybe it does. He might feel more confident and start playing better.

What team to you cheer for there, anyway? Aston Villa?
Yeah, I'm a long suffering Villain. I did enjoy watching us beat Reading 4-2 today, to seal a match up against Chelsea, the rematch of the 2000 FA Cup final.

I wish you and your team the best, I don't really like Chelsea in England, despite being a Drogba fan.

In England, I'm more fond of Liverpool, while my brother loves Man. United. He bought a team jersey and almost had it written "C. Ronaldo - 7" on the back. He went to Real Madrid afterwards and, guess what? He bought a Real Madrid jersey.

Kaká > Ronaldo.

Really? I think voting should be a privilege rather than a requirement. There is no benefit to having people vote when they are indifferent to whom they are voting for.

They say people have to "exercise their citizenship". We still have the option to vote blank, though.

Also, our voting system is 100% electronic, while yours is still on paper. Seriously, modern that! :)

I can't imagine what our team would look like if we had Anquan Boldin or Reggie Bush streaking down the wing, Brian Urlacher as a fullback, or Kevin Garnett as a keeper.

And why not LeBron James as a midfielder, with Patrick Kane as a striker? :)

At 3/6/10 11:40 PM, Sir-Nuts wrote: There are some similarities in here as well... If you're a teen and you commit a crime, you might do volunteer work in a poor community or - if it's a more serious crime - spend some time in a youth prison. The problem is that it isn't recorded afterwards - they have the thought that you "thought over what you've done" etc...
Nah. It's a bit of a problem here as well. I believe youth prison is recorded, but for less serious crimes it's all forgiven and forgotten after you've done your work. The work is never that ... intimidating towards youth criminals since it's usually 8 hours a day for only one week. They're really soft on them. Therefore they usually go back to committing crimes soon and in the worse case they end up in the crime circuit, never to get out again.

That would be the same problem in here. You only do "volunteer" work for a while, and you're back as if nothing happened. The maximum you can get is a three year reclusion, even if you're 17, thus you'll be free when you're 20.

It's getting worse in here, because the middle-class teenagers are getting into that criminal circuit as well. There was a thug in my class who brought knives, sprays and such to school. He was kicked, eventually, but which school will take him after that?

And it isn't even helping around, it's just not getting caught doing anything wrong there. If you sit there all day long, you are behaving well...
Lol. So you could be dealing drugs and murdering people in there, but if they never find out you'll get away with it and can even leave prison much earlier? :p

Yeah, if you know how to hide a corpse well. :P

I always thought people would get mistreated in Brazilian prisons, but sounds like they're not so bad if you are a prisoner there.

They are probably among the worst prisons in the world, actually. They're crowded, rusty, sometimes lacking space/cops, no beds... It's like a slave-house.

It would be, literally, a "clean body" - it's basically the right to respond the lawsuit in freedom.

Plus, I believe it's Greek, not Latin. Either way, our language is confusing. :P
Oh alright. So you don't have to be held in custody or anything when you got a lawsuit against you?

If your lawyer manage to get one of those to you, then yes, you're free until the judgement day.

And I would guess Latin. I thought juridical terms are usually in Latin and you guys are Latin America aren't you?

Hahaha, sorry, it's indeed in Latin. I thought it was created in Greece at first, but I was mistaken. :P

And yeah, we are Latin Americans, but there are so many Greek and Latin therms in Portuguese that it gets hard to figure out what's the origin of a word. And that turns out really complicated when adding prefixes and suffixes and figuring out words you don't know.

It's a vast and complex language, which probably less than 300 million people speak in the world. I think we should have been colonized by either Spanish, Italian or German colonies. BUT WHY PORTUGUESE? >:(

I'm not really pro-death penalty to be honest, but for such people a lifelong sentence would indeed be justified if you ask me.

Heh, now I remember my mom saying that she agrees on a torture sentence for some crimes. :P It's really revolting for her.

Yup. We can't divide the govern in two; govern + allies X opposition. They consist of many political parties, but they are either in favour or against what the government says, respectively.
Oh that sounds a lot like the Dutch system then, and probably many other European systems. We also have many parties, and after the elections the biggest party may join together with a few other parties to form the 'government'. This government usually has the majority so that they can make laws and decisions and the opposition (which are the remaining parties) can't thwart all their plans.

Hahaha, it's exactly the same thing. I think only the USA has a two-party system, then.

But does your governors get caught in a video tape receiving real money, then declaring it was meant to be for the poor people?

Currently it is a bit messed up here though. Our government recently 'fell' since they came to a strong disagreement about sending more troops to Afghanistan.

Heh, at least Brazil has only sent some troops to Haiti, way before the quake.

One party left the government so now they got a minority. New elections will be held here soon, but it seems like right wing extremists are gaining in popularity =/ Even so much that they might win the elections (you might have heard of Geert Wilders?) which is very worrying. But that's another matter.

No, I haven't heard of him before, but as far as I've read, he's a pretty controversial figure.

But hey, ten years ago our govern was basically a right wing party. It's stabilized the economy, creating our current currency (real [reh- all]), but many companies were sold, employment rates dropped... We're getting better only now, with Lula "the MAN", according to Obama. :P

Anyway, is the system in your country anything like that?

Sure, although govern and opposition are more "balanced", so some things are approved while others are denied. It really matters whether there are more govern or opposition members at the voting moment. Yes, they come whenever they want to.

Even though a few days ago I got my card that gives me the right to vote in this year's elections. It's optional for who is 16-17 years old, but I still want to vote. Maybe I'll find someone who's decent/honest.
Optional? But is it mandatory to vote in your country then after a certain age? Because in our country about 20% of the people who can vote usually don't even show up and people can vote 'blanco' as well if they want to.

Yeah, after you're 18 and before 70 voting is obligatory. If you don't vote, you have to explain why you didn't vote or pay a tax for not voting (I'm not sure how much is it).

But yeah, sometimes I think it shouldn't be obligatory. I mean, sometimes people who aren't interested vote for anyone they think that "looks good". So why not leaving it for those who are interested? =/

Heh I couldn't care much for the father either. But yeah it was quite nice to see her meet the real Jake. You knew it would happen, but they did that scene quite well.

Yeah, but it's one of the problems in the movie. I mean, EVERYONE knew that was going to happen, really predictable. And everyone knew he would become one of them in the end.

It's really bad because the 3D glasses kept slipping while he was with them. You either adjust it all the time, or you have a huge nose to hold both glasses. :P
So he was like touching and adjusting his glasses all the way through the movie? That has got to be very annoying.

Yeah, I noticed him adjusting them quite often. Maybe it was only those glasses, there might be better shaped ones around.

Speaking of 3D glasses by the way. I went to Alice in Wonderland yesterday and the glasses I got there were much better than the ones I had at Avatar. They were sort of greenish when you looked straight through them and this time almost everything on the screen was sharp. So they didn't hurt my eyes so much like they did with Avatar.

Really? The glasses I had looked purple when I looked at them, but the lens were pretty small, IMO. I think that was one of the reasons of it causing headaches.

I guess the quality of the 3D movie just depends a lot on to which cinema you go.

Hmm, I think there are only three 3D rooms in here. Once it gets more popular, they should open more.

Oh, and how's the movie, anyway? Worth watching?

Yeah, that's just Brazil. :)

Even though I still got the regular 50% discount for being a student, it was still really expensive.
Well at you least you got a 50% discount ;) Normally you could about 50% off here if you go in the morning on normal weekdays. For some reason you can not benefit from any discounts here when you go to a 3D movie though =/

Really? No discounts for #d movies? That's unfair - it's still a movie, isn't it?

Oh, and the weekday also matters in here. Weekends and holidays are more expensive, while weekdays are about 5,00 cheaper. It's great going to the cinema after school, specially when there's a mall right next to your school. :)

Right, there's too much to discuss about that, I think there won't be a definite answer of what's legal or not so soon. I just think the artists should be more decisive in this, not the record companies. I mean, it's their songs, not the company's!
Well the companies invest in them and own their rights probably, so they want the money ;) But yeah it would probably be good if artists were clear on their standpoints on this themselves.

Yeah, we don't know what artists think about that, not all of them, at least. I mean, everyone knows how much Metallica LOVES when you download one of their songs. ;P

He's 84 now, and it's possibly his last world tour. If only they didn't put so many concert at the same time... :(
Yeah that's what I thought. It's too bad, but it might also explain the high ticket prices.

Sure, it's possibly BB King's last world tour, but 150,00 for the CHEAPEST one? If it was about 100,00, I could've bought a ticket, but those extra 50,00 make a big difference. Come on, I paid only 40,00 for Muse. :)

Maybe they could make a tribute to Richard Wright, their former keyboard player who passed away in 2008...
Yes that would be a good occasion. I believe Syd Barrett also passed away in 2006 or so, so they could also dedicate it to him as well.

That's a good idea, although I think they didn't get along with Syd Barrett really well. Still it would be a nice homage to the former members.

Oh, that might have been very awkward...
Yeah you could see they were a bit uncomfortable. Not so strange though since they also had a camera running right under their noses. I can imagine they didn't want to be too emotional when the whole world was watching.

Right... but do you think David Gilmore holds any bad feeling over Waters? I mean, the band didn't end in the most pacific way possible...

I think there are lyrics, somehow. Have you ever heard the live version from H.A.A.R.P? That one has no lyrics, I'M SURE!
Nope I have not. H.A.A.R.P is short for one of their tours/albums I assume...?

It's their live album and the tour I went to. There are some great songs missing in the album, but it's great to listen to, anyway.

And HAARP is short for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. Don't ask me why they put that as the title. :P

Only the screaming voice, I'd say, because instrumentally it's pretty good.
Yeah instrumentally they are always pretty good, but it's always the singing that turns me off and I think that song really makes it clear what I mean.

So if they made an instrumental album...? :)

Yeah, it's a great song, one of their best, IMO. But my top three would be Hysteria. Plug in Baby and Assassin. I'd use them as my argument of why Muse is awesome. :)
I might have heard Hysteria before, but I'm not sure. I have listened to Plug in Baby recently as well. I thought it was alright, but still nothing too amazing.

I really like it's riff. I actually learned how to play the whole song in one afternoon, it's easy and fun to play.

There are some songs that have a more clear, direct meaning, but some others... well, they just rhyme. :P
Haha really? :p Judging from their titles I always thought they would have very deep lyrics or something.

They really like to use metaphors, though. They aren't that hard to understand, but some are harder to make sense.

Despite that, I believe they don't use drugs. :P

Hmm maybe it is slightly different. In Holland we would say a "goaltjesdief" which is literally a "goals thief". I think that would be an accurate translation.

I'll just throw in the English term "Goal-hanger" - someone that loiters near the goal and seems to pop up on the line to score the simple goals. Fillippo Inzaghi, formerly of Juventus was one that I remember from my Sunday mornings watching Gazetta Football Italia

Schweinsteiger plays a good season so far, he's now more in the defensive midfield and does a good job. Lahm now plays good on the right side (at the beginning of the season he was kind of a bombscare), but I guess in the national team he will play on the left side again.
Ballack plays at Chelsea now, so we'd have to ask Coop how he plays. I don't follow the Premier League. ^^

The late goal against Poland was kind of a "booster detonation" before that the fans where of course rooting for the team, but after that goal suddendly the whole country changed. It was amazing. Suddendly you could see fans everywhere, singing the "WC song and being just happy in general.
Maybe it also had an effect on the team, but there's a saying here, that germany is a "tournament team", meaning they suck before and after a tournament, but in the tournament, they (usually) come very far.

Champions in '10? Who knows, right? =)
Would be great. XD
I have high hopes on Honduras winning this year. :)

Haha, I have nothing against that as well. ^^

I mean, I like the individual players (it's hard not to like them when you watch them play ^^), but as a team I find them very unfriendly.
Maybe because we complain too much while playing. Like claiming for yellow cards, delaying the game... being bastards. :P

You know, that is what most people say about the italian team. ^^

You should. ;)

Man, I've hardly played TF2 over the last 3 weeks. I do have other games to play, you know? As a matter of fact, Counter-Strike is next up the list for my Steam games. The original Counter-Strike is pointless as there's hardly anyone playing it anymore. I'm guessing the only Counter-Strike game worth playing is Source version due to it being more popular. I'd hate to see what CS:S will be like once we get CS2.

Medic - Syringe Gun to find the props. Sadly, you can't heal hunters.
Hmm, not a good idea. How will you know what is a prop and what isn't? Only with the Blutsauger, if a "+3" shows up in your health.

You'll know when you hear a Scout getting hurt.

Not sure if that glitch has been fixed but they can shoot when they're the last prop remaining.
Hmm, maybe it was that all along. I've seen some props shooting sometimes, although I'm not sure if they were the last one or not.

That probably was it then. There is the occasional glitch where props can shoot. It's happened to me before and I tried killing the hunters right away. XD

There is a very similar term in Portuguese to "have a nose for the goal", which would be someone who seeks the scoring opportunities, who is there whenever a chance comes. "Ter faro de gol".

Alonso and Vettel to fight for the win today, but watch for Barichello in 11th - he gets fresh tyres to start the race, unlike the top 10 ;)

I don't know what to expect from Barrichello this season. He had his best season last year under Brawn GP, but now I'm afraid he might come back to his old "F1 filler" days...

And, like usual, he came behind Schumacher. :P

At 3/13/10 11:28 PM, Sir-Nuts wrote: Ah right, makes more sense now. Oh, and who's England's goalkeeper? Since Seaman retired, I don't know who's been keeping for you.
Robert Green (West Ham) or David 'Calamity' James (Portsmouth) seem to be our keepers of choice.

I know Green better than James, and he's a pretty decent goalkeeper. But why David "Calamity" James? Is he that untrustworthy?

Lahm now plays good on the right side (at the beginning of the season he was kind of a bombscare), but I guess in the national team he will play on the left side again.

Hmm, right... What about the German defence? I don't know much about them, except for Mertesacker (which I actually managed to write correctly in my first try :P)

Ballack plays at Chelsea now, so we'd have to ask Coop how he plays. I don't follow the Premier League. ^^

All I know is that he's a great player and one of the few German players outside of Germany.

I don't know, maybe the home field advantage gave the German team a boost... Either way, in 06, Zidane messed with Brazil's plans once again... good thing that he retired. :P

Really? Well, the only two games I remember from Germany were the opening match and the third place match against Portugal. The latter one being a great match. :)

I love PK shoot-outs, especially when it isn't my team playing. :P

Maybe it also had an effect on the team, but there's a saying here, that germany is a "tournament team", meaning they suck before and after a tournament, but in the tournament, they (usually) come very far.

I know some players who are the opposite - they only play well in their clubs, when it comes to the national team they blow. :P

But yeah, Germany has done well in the tournaments, as far as I remember. In 2002 you lost to Brazil in the finals (hehehe ;P) and you got a third place in 2006. I expect Germany to go far in this cup, at least semi-finals.

I have high hopes on Honduras winning this year. :)
Haha, I have nothing against that as well. ^^

I wonder how much would they pay for someone who bets on Honduras if they win...

Heh, I'll tell that to my Italian friend. He might get mad, though.

But really, some players just beg for fouls and love to come up to the referee. Go play and don't be whinny!

We lost in 98 to France, and I was watching it. :(
Oh, how could I forget about that.

Yep, I should have guessed another month of Explosm. Can't he go back to Joe Zombie or something. :/

They say people have to "exercise their citizenship". We still have the option to vote blank, though.

Voting blank, that works. Sometimes when I'm voting I don't have a clue whom to go for on the minor elections like Judges or Corporation Commissioner; there is no 'no vote' on our ballots.

Also, our voting system is 100% electronic, while yours is still on paper. Seriously, modern that! :)

Two reasons. All of the voting machines are bought on the local level so small towns can't afford fancy electronic machines. Second, many people have this fear of if it's not written down physically on a paper it won't be counted; tradition or just plain fear of technology mainly.

And why not LeBron James as a midfielder, with Patrick Kane as a striker? :)

Now there would be a sight. King James running down the field; I'd pay to see that.

Reaching triple 20,000+ is nuts, a major accomplishment here on Newgrounds.
At my highest point I believe I was ranked 146, after my account was compromised I just said "fuck it" for the most part. Had that never happened I'd be over 22,000 experience right now. But hey, had a lot of life experiences within that period of inactivity.
The level you're at currently would be one of my favorites. Not too crazy about the icon I have for mine, but (personally) I don't believe there has ever been a worse level than the level 49 bow and arrow. Even the old level 23 staff before the update seems far better in comparison.

My apologies, I must have read something wrong.

That's fine. :)

But if you do it again I'll have to kill you.

Why don't you sing Mirror Mirror? :)

Great idea but we have too many songs to sing.

The original Counter-Strike is pointless as there's hardly anyone playing it anymore.
I know some people who still play CS 1.6 often, maybe there are some servers up for it.

I guess I need a further look but I need servers where the majority of them are actually playing and not spectators.

I'm guessing the only Counter-Strike game worth playing is Source version due to it being more popular. I'd hate to see what CS:S will be like once we get CS2.
Will there be a CS2.0?

They've expressed interest in a true sequel to Counter-Strike before.

You'll know when you hear a Scout getting hurt.
Sure, but he won't scream all the time, right? =P

You will hear him getting hurt!

That probably was it then. There is the occasional glitch where props can shoot. It's happened to me before and I tried killing the hunters right away. XD
Heh, I saw some Pyros getting killed by Prop scouts sometimes. It was odd seeing a jar shooting. :P

You should see people killing Pyros as a CP prop.

Damn, that just shows how fast the ranks go up here. I remember when you only needed to be level 44 in order to be in the top 50 but now you need to be at least 50 to even be there.

The level you're at currently would be one of my favorites.

I really like the mace too but the next level I'm looking forward to the most after the sword is the scythe. I don't mind level 44 but 45 is even better for me. I actually like every level from 37 - 48. It's a shame level 49 breaks the chain of great weapons.

I don't believe there has ever been a worse level than the level 49 bow and arrow. Even the old level 23 staff before the update seems far better in comparison.

On the bright side, we won't spend as long at level 49 as much as we would have at level 23 when we would have reached it on the pre-redesign. Old level 23 was so bad I was willing to stop at level 22. No need to stop before level 49 as I'll eventually get through the 100 or something days with it.

I did 10 reviews yesterday - the problem being that 5 of them were Art Reviews :P

That just means more of a sudden boost once art reviews are listed on userpages. :)

I think I know what you mean, his videos have gotten pretty bad and his videos are like 1 hour long. I don't know who has the time to watch him. The FF X review is 20 minutes and is pretty funny.

The length of videos has always been an issue, even in his earlier days. I mean, 30 minutes of him listening to klingon language was just a chore. For his genuine reviews, I did save them for later but never bothered to watch them since I didn't care that much. Infact, I never saw the whole of Ripper while I was willing to spend 5 hours watching through his LP of Phantasmagoria 2. Spoony had great videos in the past but I feel there's nothing to him now.

Exactly my thoughts. Hopefully it will be as awesome as his FFVIII reviews.

Yeah I have noticed that his videos have gotten longer and longer lately. I remember they usually didn't exceed 15 minutes, but nowadays he can easily ramble on for over half an hour. I don't mind if it's interesting or entertaining though, but the wrestling rants... they're just way too long and too boring imo.

But other than that, I think he's experimenting a lot and I guess it's good that he tries new things occasionally.

Sounds like what we call an "Abstauber", someone who's suddendly there and scores the goal. Of course you need to have that "Torriecher" to be an "Abstauber". ^^

Yeah it's like that. The kinda guy who always manages to score an easy goal somewhere. Coop gave a good example with Filipo Inzaghi.

Is the German word literally "goals hunter" by the way?
The "Torjäger", yes that translates to "goal hunter".

But what's "riecher" then?

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they have added up the points of every country once. Like 3 points for every win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss, no matter if it was group stage or final. And Germany came out #1, even though everyone was expecting Brazil.
Interesting. But I think Brazil has another great "stat". IIRC they never lost a final. So, when they made it to the finals they also won the tournament. Impressive.

That's impressive indeed. But like Sir-Nuts said, didn't they lose the final to France in 1998? It became 3-0, with goals from Henry and Zidane if I remember correctly.
