Maybe it's the fact that the yellow aura makes every level look so much better, or perhaps I've just mellowed out with age (lol), but it really doesn't seem so bad to me now.
Your girlfriend is killing you.
In fact, I'm looking forward to getting it more than I'm looking forward to getting level 35 in 3-4 days.
Ah, come on now! I think level 35 is one of the most awesome levels in NG, especially with the gold aura. And green, of course.
Maybe the fluffy part of the tomahawk coupled with the fab aura is just making the icon as a whole too girly? ;P
Why is there a fluffy thing in there, anyway?
Oh yeah, and this is my 11,000th post. :)
Hey, you said you were far from any milestones, now you'll have two in a week, you silly. :P

Even though I don't understand much about Rugby, I see what happened. They were trying to get the English team mad, right? Happens a lot in football. A LOT.

Not so exclusive anymore, since Fro has just posted as well. :PD'aw =(
I blame Fro. =P
Depends... sure, there are parties pretty much everywhere you go to, but the amount of irresponsible people is just stunning. This year, I think we broke the record for deaths/injuries, mostly because of car accidents. Despite all the warnings, we managed to do it. >:(Heh. Well I suppose many people are under the influence of drugs and alcohol in such times. And I always hear that the police in Brazil are not that.. strict either, especially not during carnaval.
Definitely, it's a party for bars and drug dealers as well.
And yeah, our police isn't the best. It's kinda corrupt, they take bribes easily, it's either unprepared or shooting everyone... It's a mess.
Also, our politicians are even worse. Just to have an idea: out governor is currently arrested, with 4 impeachment processes on his back, along with half of his party. AWESOME.
I didn't do much during carnival either, aside from watching Avatar. :)Haha yeah the movie is indeed kinda predictable. The plot is really nothing amazing, but I must say that I also enjoyed it when I watched it in the cinema about a month ago. It's definitely a good movie to go to the cinema's for.
It's a great movie, but the ending is predictable since the beginning.
Indeed, it's a great movie nonetheless. The visual effects, the Duke Nukem-like general, the action scenes... it's really worth watching, I recommend for everyone.
I think it's kind of.. underwhelming on a normal TV screen though.
Sure. One of the reasons it's being watched worldwide in the movie theatres is that it can't be watched at home. I mean, not everyone has 3-D glasses, and I think it can't be recorded with a regular camera, if you know what I mean. No piracy allowed. =)
Also, my dad is a little bit oldschool: he bought a leather jacket the other day - he looked like a bald Billy Idol. :PLol. Is he in a midlife crisis or something then, or is he always like that? :p
Not really - he and my mom travelled to a store which was holding a clothing fair. My mom had been wanting a leather jacket for a while, and she found one there. My dad like it as well and bought one for him too. I've never seen him wearing it afterwards, though. :P
Hahahaha, we used to have a car which still had a tape player, and we actually used it often!
Yes old cars usually still have tape players in them. I think I still got a tape player here too, but I think all the tapes must be broken by now.
That's a problem with tapes and VHS, they get old. My dad needs to convert some VHSes (?) into DVD before they're all lost.
I agree though that laws like that might not even be beneficial to most bands. Especially the newer ones who are already having trouble with advertising themselves. And the bigger artists make enough money already, so it's not like they need it all that much =/
I've heard that Lilly Allen was holding a "resistance" again pirated music. There was an organization that wanted to make free music more accessible, "legal"... the problem was that there were only older, richer artists in that organization, who didn't need money at all. She gave up eventually, but not because of lack of support.
I guess as a band you just gotta ask yourself what you find more important; money or the fact that your music might be listened to all over the world for the next few decades.
Having your music listened to draws more fans, which makes concerts bigger and generates more profit.
On the other hand, with less money being paid for the music, the concert tickets vecomes more expensive. Hmm...
But I think that must mean something else, metaphorically...
I guess it might be a warning for how dangerous idolizing could be.
That makes sense. You know, some people actually do whatever their idols do. It could be just having a haircut like them, but it can go up to political views and such.
Also it might be a reference to Roger Waters personal view on himself and his fans at some point (since the movie has lots of auto-biographic elements actually). It's still kinda vague I know, but I remember I read something like that once.
Well, in the Wall tour, they actually built a wall in the stage during the concert, splitting the band from the crowd. Roger Waters was being rejected by the other band member, due to him being... a "Nazi" in the studios. :P
Yup, that would be Matthew Bellamy.Perhaps I should just give them another chance someday. I already listened to their latest album (Origin of Symmetry) not too long ago. Didn't like it much, but maybe I will like their earlier albums more.
And yeah, his singing sometimes is weird. In Supermassive Black Hole, he sings in falsetto, but it isn't very good. Although I really like Muse, their songs are so full of energy! :)
Actually, their latest album is "The Resistance", and indeed it isn't very good. Give a listen to "Absolution" and "Origin of Symmetry" (if you haven't), they are the best albums, IMO.
Watch me spam the LUL again. :P
Sorry guys.

Yeah, I feel sorry for them... :(Indeed but on the other hand, why are they not changing ISP?
Maybe because they are horrid as well, just like your Virgin Media.
I can't remember which one it was now but the one you played had the Warehouse map without the snow. You can try the Alpha & Omega one (something like that anyway) and see how it goes for you.PropHunt is indeed awesome. As for the servers, I would have asked how the Alpha & Omega one was for you but I'm guessing that's another server you can't get to due to high ping.Is it that one we were playing together once? The ping wasn't the best, but it was playable. And no, I didn't get kicked in there.
I can only find a few PropHunt servers, though.
150 is too low. I get slightly less than that when playing with them. 200 is a more reasonable limit.
I managed to play at 400 today, but it didn't feel it was that high. I don't know, sometimes I get servers with 190, and in 10 minutes they are at 600! =O
Hahahaha, yes. You have to be at those random places, among your similar objects. And, please, AVOID RUNNING RANDOMLY.Yeah, it's mostly propchecking but some maps I've become so familiarised with that I can spot a prop a mile off. Heh, perhaps I should start playing as Sniper for some of the maps.
It sucks to hide in Harvest - it's a small map, with few points of hiding. Being a hunter there is great. =)

Oh god please don't remind me. I heard that with some 3D movies they provide 3D glasses with the DVD's though. But I heard the quality of those glasses was just terrible, and it just doesn't work that well. I suppose they might also come up with a 2D version, which I would have preferred in the cinema, but like I said I don't think it will be that amazing on a small screen.

Yeah I guess that's true. But I suppose there will be a limit for that as well. Eventually there must be a point where the fans just don't want to go anymore. I believe we are already nearing that point here. I believe two years ago, concerts from Madonna and some other huge artist were not even sold out due to the insanely high ticket prices.

Yeah, but there was also a spitting accident once. Roger Waters once said that he couldn't stand people who screamed through his music when he was playing live and he spit a fan in the face apparently. That must've happened somewhere during the Animals Tour and I believe that accident and attitude is sort of where The Wall came from.
Perhaps I should just give them another chance someday. I already listened to their latest album (Origin of Symmetry) not too long ago. Indeed. The problem in football is that the time keeps running, so when it's about 30min into the second half, the winning team might suffer a collective pain or similar. Time passes and the losing team gets even more nervous.
But it doesn't stop me from being bitter.
Completely understandable.

Also, our judiciary system is very lenient, there are many ways to ramble on for five years, until the crime "expires". We need stricter laws.
Indeed, it's a great movie nonetheless. The visual effects, the Duke Nukem-like general, the action scenes... it's really worth watching, I recommend for everyone.Haha yeah the commander guy was by far my favorite character in the entire movie. I just loved how he jumped out of that burning airplane, and how his shoulder was on fire but he didn't even cared at first. Then he just slapped it out with his bare hands :p
Hahaha, I remember that. Also, when he was trying to stop their airplane, he pretty much didn't care about the oxygen masks. :P
IT'S TIME TO KICK ASS AND CHEW BUBBLE GUM. AND I'M ALL OUT OF GUM.
Sure. One of the reasons it's being watched worldwide in the movie theatres is that it can't be watched at home. I mean, not everyone has 3-D glasses, and I think it can't be recorded with a regular camera, if you know what I mean. No piracy allowed. =)I heard that with some 3D movies they provide 3D glasses with the DVD's though. But I heard the quality of those glasses was just terrible, and it just doesn't work that well. I suppose they might also come up with a 2D version, which I would have preferred in the cinema, but like I said I don't think it will be that amazing on a small screen.
Yeah, we once rented a movie that came with a 3D option + a pair of glasses. We didn't try it, though, but I I think it would have looked a bit choppy on our TV.
And yeah, those 3D glasses aren't the best invention ever. I had several headaches during the film, where I had to take the glasses off and rest my view for a few seconds. Although I think they won't release a "regular" version for it, though. It's up to the movie staff.
I've heard that Lilly Allen was holding a "resistance" again pirated music. There was an organization that wanted to make free music more accessible, "legal"... the problem was that there were only older, richer artists in that organization, who didn't need money at all. She gave up eventually, but not because of lack of support.A resistance as in: She just wanted people to pay for her music? And why did she gave up then?
I think so, her music was being more downloaded than bought, I believe.
She gave up due to many people "attacking" her blog, harassing her (you mercenary etc...) and such. I think Muse was supporting her as well, something like "if we want you to download our music like that, we would make it available for you. Since we didn't, then don't do it!".
Oh, and the whole Muse catalogue is available at their site, just to listen, not downloading.
Hey, I think we have reached that point. I'll make a new blog soon but for now...
B.B. King is coming for a concert where I live. The cheapest tickets are at about R$150,00 which would be about U$90,00. The most expensive is at R$600,00. And hey, I wanted to go, but I'm not able to, because the prices are nearing the absurd.
Well, in the Wall tour, they actually built a wall in the stage during the concert, splitting the band from the crowd. Roger Waters was being rejected by the other band member, due to him being... a "Nazi" in the studios. :PYeah, but there was also a spitting accident once. Roger Waters once said that he couldn't stand people who screamed through his music when he was playing live and he spit a fan in the face apparently. That must've happened somewhere during the Animals Tour and I believe that accident and attitude is sort of where The Wall came from.
Ah, I remember seeing that in a mini documentary. He thought of the stage and the crowd being split by an invisible wall or something, then he came up with it. The other meanings for it are very "spread".
Actually, their latest album is "The Resistance", and indeed it isn't very good. Give a listen to "Absolution" and "Origin of Symmetry" (if you haven't), they are the best albums, IMO.Oh yeah The Resistance is the album I mean. I haven't listened to Origin of Symmetry yet, although I am sure I must know a song or two. I think it is considered Muse's best album by most people.
Hahaha, yeah, I remember reading when you said "I've just listened to Muse's new album, and I still don't like Muse" or something. Yeah, The Resistance isn't a good album for "starters", hahaha.
I think Absolution and Origin of Symmetry are their best albums. Go to Muse's website to listen to all of them, if you feel like. =)

Expires? I'm not sure if things like that are even possible in Europe :p
Also, I always find it strange that countries run investigations against their own politicians. I mean I always thought that the politicians were pretty much in charge of that. Or does the guy have many enemies in his own government?
Haha yeah the commander guy was by far my favorite character in the entire movie. IT'S TIME TO KICK ASS AND CHEW BUBBLE GUM. AND I'M ALL OUT OF GUM.
Haha oh yeah! He was standing there, shooting at the aircraft for like a full minute before he went back to breathe.
I also loved how he was just sipping his coffee when he was blasting the crap out of that home tree with those helicopters. That was probably my favorite action scene from the entire movie.
I heard that with some 3D movies they provide 3D glasses with the DVD's though. But I heard the quality of those glasses was just terrible, and it just doesn't work that well. That's a complaint I hear more often. People getting headaches in the cinemas after a while and from some people I even heard they had to leave after 20 minutes or so. Gotta say that my eyes also started to hurt after an hour or so.
That's one of the main reasons why I don't like 3D cinema so much. I mean I can just feel that my eyes are simply being deceived.
What I also hate is that there are more and more movies coming out right now which are only in 3D. Like next weekend I'll be going to Alice in Wonderland, but I will have to watch it in 3D and I will have to pay a few euros extra for that. I don't want to pay extra >=(
A resistance as in: She just wanted people to pay for her music? And why did she gave up then?I think so, her music was being more downloaded than bought, I believe.

Oh, and the whole Muse catalogue is available at their site, just to listen, not downloading.
Hehe well if your music is being downloaded more than bought than I can imagine that can kinda suck if you are an artist :p But I bet she is still earning plenty of money anyway, so... I can't feel sorry for her.
Also meh.. I got a feeling it's a war they can't win anyway. I mean, I believe youtube keeps trying to remove videos of copyrighted material but it seems that there are more going in than out. They're only creating more and more dead links on their own website this way.
Yeah I guess that's true. But I suppose there will be a limit for that as well. Eventually there must be a point where the fans just don't want to go anymore. B.B. King is probably a great artist, but I would never pay $90 to visit his show. That's just too much indeed. Especially for someone who is almost retired.
Yeah, but there was also a spitting accident once. Roger Waters once said that he couldn't stand people who screamed through his music when he was playing live and he spit a fan in the face apparently. He thought of the stage and the crowd being split by an invisible wall or something, then he came up with it. The other meanings for it are very "spread".
Oh yeah that's another thing I heard. So yeah, it has a lot of autobiographic elements from Roger Waters life as a musician.
Oh yeah The Resistance is the album I mean. I haven't listened to Origin of Symmetry yet, although I am sure I must know a song or two. Listening to some Origin of Symmetry songs right now. I still don't know. Instrumentally it is alright in my opinion, but their singer... I just really don't like his voice. Bliss is probably the best song from that album in my opinion.
Also I must say that I am really missing variety. Every single one of their songs sounds.. depressing imo =/
First off, thanks to Coop, Odyssic, Auz (achievement of the day should have gone to Haggard though, IMO ;P), reverend, Fro, Sir-Nuts, and Seraphim17 for acknowledging that I made it to 11k posts.

Toss. I'm constantly making little blunders like this in my BBS posts at the moment. Hopefully as I get reacquainted with posting once again I'll stop overlooking little fuckups like this when reading over my posts.

Thanks for the link Bahamut.
Overall I liked Plastic Beach. You can tell it's a different mood than Demon Days, less depressing and grim and more mellow laid back kind of like a beach. Sure I found some of the songs annoying with some of the rappers, Snoop Dogg namely, but all in all it was well put together with a who's who of talent.
Of course, I still like Demon Days more than Plastic Beach because it really felt the mood of the world at the time; dark depression grim with songs like O' Green World or Feels Good Inc and with an over the top happy dance song like DARE, but all in all I can really enjoy their new album. Sure it would be nice if I heard Damon more, but I'm sure he's behind the scenes with other aspects when he doesn't sing lead; it's his project after all. It's really a change of pace for Gorillaz where it isn't just about Damon anymore, but rather what Damon wants to create and who he can get to create that sound.
Tl;dr: Four out of Five Stars.
