I might also suggest trying to find it (in the Orange Box, or by itself, whichever... but Orange Box is a great investment--7 games for 1 price, never more than 2x the cost of TF2 on its own, from what I've seen) on a website (maybe amazon.com?) that offers payment methods other than just credit card.
OK, I'll just have to tell you this thing.
My father has been working with computers since the dawn of Windows. He's graduated in Civil Engineering, but decided to change his career. Anyway... he has seen computers evolving, along with their problems (Windows, lol). And he has seen the first hackers, viruses, spams etc...
Anyway... what that has to do with me buying/playing TF2?
Simple: he doesn't like seeing me playing things that are online.
About two years ago, I had Counter Strike 1.6 on this computer. I never played online, because he didn't allow me to do so. One day, I simply went against his will, and joined an online server. It was nice playing with "real" people at home. However, when he asked me if I was playing online and I answered "yes"... He freaked out. Out of nowhere.
His arguments were that "playing online would only give viruses to the computer" etc... I know it doesn't, how come playing CS will make that happen? Only if I do something stupid. Then, after closing the game, I realised one thing: he's too worried about viruses. I think that, when he first began working with internet access, a virus pretty much fucked up his whole computer. And, since then, he's too concerned about them.
One thing would be buying TF2 via the internet and playing it off-line. But, since TF2 doesn't have that option... it'd be pretty useless. When I was playing it that weekend, I was playing it hidden. Whenever he came into the room, I simply turned off the screen. So he wouldn't know about it.
Fun, isn't it?
Also, I second Bahamut's "wish you'd let us know you were gonna play on the free weekend" thought, Sir Nuts.... woulda been neat to break yer TF2 cherry among friends!
As I said a few quotes above, I was only playing on local servers. Less lag y'know. =)
And lastly: what's your Steam username? Even if you'll only be playing TF2 on free weekends for the foreseeable future, that's still better than nothing. Let me and Bahamut know it either here or privately via PM, and we'll friend ya!
Sir_Nuts, that would be. But I have already added you guys, anyway. =)
Still, I'm pretty much ditching the TF2 idea. It's laggy, it's online (OMG VIRUSES!!!!1!)... Maybe I'll be old enough to have a credit card when TF3 comes out, right? =P

I always preferred the Reel Big Fish version, to be honest. The horns just adds that extra somethign to it :)
I think I've said this before in here, but I consider Reel Big Fish's version one of the best covers ever - if not the best one.

Lol. I have seen many retarded things in Vice City, but never THAT. :)
Maybe there's a few AI glitches in Vice City here and there? I'm playing the PC version, so I'm not sure which one you played.
I have the PS2 version, and I've seen many weird things happen there. Like a guy that was going too fast on a bike and hit the back of a car. He died after hitting the floor. =O

Indeed. VRock is the best radio station on the GTA franchise.

$0 on PC. There will be a charge on XB360.
Tis a beautiful thing to be a PC TF2er. #;-}>
Oh, and I'm not going to buy it for XBox360/PS3. =)

Greatest. Cult. Song. Ever. Love that song.
You know, this reminds me of something quite funny.
In the beggining of August '08, there were many great shows here in Brasilia. To be more exact, 3rd of August. We had this ''classic'' festival here that happens since 1990, called ''Porão do Rock'' (Rock's Gate, pretty badass name), Joe Satriani and The Cult. ALL IN THE SAME DATE! BUT IN DIFFERENT PLACES!!! Serious lack of organization. I ended up going on the festival, since Muse played there. Great first concert I've been to. =)
But I wish I went to all three concerts. =/

That was really shocking. I was getting ready for my guitar class when I heard this. I couldn't believe it at first, it just... couldn't be real. But then...
Oh well... I still hope that he'll come back from the grave to dance "Thriller". =,(

Also, I really doubt I'd retire gfoxclock at 3.6k/3.6k, but we'll see. Depends on how much I b/p with him after I retire my main, of course. By my current levels, it would be easy to, but if somehow the ability to rise through the EG ranks again with gfoxclock got me back into both blams and saves again... I might have to try for a 2nd EGSC account. #;-}>
Two EGSC accounts? That's... something never seen before. =P
