Ugh. I'd said "#4 and #5" in the bit about the error that happened with #1,2,3, but it turned out I needed a #6 as well. On the plus side, a full HALF of my catch-up posts should now be error-free due to the creation of an extra post!

Who do you think? I've not seen her online for months now. Pity, really.
I was hoping it'd be schnee herself.
Well, I sent her a ping on MSN yesterday afternoon, so if she logs in again, she'll get it :)

Wasn't that a post of the real schnee herself that I just replied to a reply of earlier in my catchup?

Meaning it had to be from April or May.... that's a little less than "for months," IMO. But maybe it was just Coop doing his best impression? #;-}>

Well, until then, you'll have the harrowing task of being the most popular German user on Newgrounds :P

Germany: Haggard
Belgium: nimmer (iWalker since redesign)
Netherlands: _lightning_
France: alexsmolik

I ain't gonna pick someone for England/Britain, because then FEELINGS SHALL BE HURT. ;_;

Do we have any Iberians or Italians on Wi/Ht?, BTW? I just noticed most of Western Europe is filled in, but there's some spots I'm missing there.

I know I'm missing someone from Spain, so replace Iberians with Portuguese in your mind once someone mentions the name I know I'm forgetting. #;-}>

At 6/5/09 01:25 AM, NEVR wrote: It is a pity, I always respected her as a user... although a lot of the Wi/Ht?'s old guard seem to be peeling off: Recon, Greg, schneelocke, etc.
Yeah, but like we always say, times change. I'm here for the long haul, but when you think that users like ReconRebel and gfoxcook have been in for the long haul stats wise for so long, it's got to get to you at some point, hasn't it?

WTF? People writing me off for NG dead again. Mannnnn... you gotta drop by weekly or you get written off, eh?

Hmph. </offended>

I NO HAZ TO CONFORM TO YOUR STANDARDS OF "ACTIVE," MOFOS. #>:-{>

I'm active compared to how INactive I was in 2005-2007, trust me on this. I CAN GO BACK TO THAT if this level of participation is being ignored. #;-}>

As for getting to you at some point... you've got to stop thinking of NG participation as an on/off switch. It's not a binary pair. It's not either active or inactive. It's a giant gradient scale from the "perfect non-participation" and the impossibly-infinite participation... with shades of grey in between. Everyone fluctuates up and down in their activity amounts. If the level you're at gets to be "too much" or "gets to you" or whatever, then just dial it down. As I have in various ways (portal and BBS-wise and modding-wise as well, I suppose) over the years at multiple times. Yet still I'm here. You don't have to leave completely to reduce yer time spent here/stats collected. Just try slow reduction in both departments before you shut it all off at once. Wish more people would try that slow reduction first... ;_;

People who used to be active when I first came here too, like X-Naut (the imposter ;P), Casualty, Shanus, Sterockicy, and others (who I can't remember right now) have all disappeared too. At least some of you guys are still here, and by the looks of it we have a lot of fresh blood around too.
Some names on that list I'd completely forgotten about. I only ever remember X-Naut when I do a Saves or Blams update (By the way, rain is forecast for tomorrow, so I'll try to get the saves done then, I promise) and Shanus was tied in quite majorly to the Review Request Club. Other than that, it made me think what mark I've left on Newgrounds as a whole. Not much, so I'd better do more!

I miss BOTH X-Nauts. Sad, I know.

It's not something that you should be able to do - I check the most recent reviews list for shitty stuff after I've done the purging of the flags for my part. Like I said, it took me 8 weeks to get there after being modded, so I'm still being slow and cautious.
Cautious? But what for, I mean you can flag abusive reviews and delete them afterwards to get points right? Can´t you easily get a gold whistle on your first day?

Yeah, I suppose you could. I'm not one who would want to use the privelages in this way, because that could get them revoked.

I just wondered how many posts from gfox it would take to reach 0.01 per day. You're a bigger stat whore than me, so you work it out :P

P.S. No, Coop, it was the Thursday following the weekend I was out of town and ye were depositing for me. And, funnily (or not) enough, but after that weekend trip, I developed a really bad case of ultra-toothache and cheek swelling (infection due to the tooth issue)... which I then proceeded to hide Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (the day of the proposal), and part of Friday... before telling my baby and calling a dentist.... Yes, I went on bended knee and slipped the ring on her finger while suffering immensely. I'M A MAN, DAMNIT. I'M 40!!!! </American sports coach press conference reference you might not catch>

Well, that's your own fault. You've obviously been planning this for a while and as a result, you couldn't let excruciating pain stand in the way of your hard earned, easily spent moneys!

P.P.S. Yes, I got in trouble for being too manly and not calling the dentist immediately on Tuesday. ;_;

And so you should. You're (nearly) a married man now!

And finally, thanks for the lv42 alt alt grats, folks. The fact that all of you said "gfox" means I don't have to EVER EVER POST WITH GFOX. Mwahahahah. Coop's regretting not putting "gfoxcook" on that line of his grats list now, I guarantee you all. #;-}>

Also, I've just finished my week-long playthrough of the entire Phoenix Wright series (including Apollo Justice). Pretty happy with myself, I've regained my appreciation of its awesomeness, particularly the soundtrack, and I finally found out the names of my favourite dramatic tracks that played at pivotal moments in the trials: Behold the awesomeness.

As for Call of Duty, I might look into it sometime, but I'm really reluctant to do so now, no matter how awesome COD4 and Modern Warfare 2 is/will be.
I feel the same way, in fact, I haven't bought an Activision game in years, simply because the games that they produce just don't appeal to me, for example, I'm not a big FPS fan, so CoD wouldn't interest me in the slightest.
Last game of theirs I bought was Guitar Hero III. I actually wish I got into Guitar Hero sooner as the first two games didn't seem too bad. Plus, there was an effective way to get custom tracks on GHII. Too late for that, though.

Oh well, it happens, not much you can do about it I suppose (except support Capcom and buy some PW games :P)

Here's hoping someone produces a CoD killer and hit 'em where it hurts; their big, fat, over-inflated wallets.
Fact: The current CEO of Activision used to run 4kids.

IT ALL MAKES SENSE TO ME NOW!!!

Indeed, a game based on that one level would be amazing. What'd also be amazing is a Vernon Tripe game. After all, my friends love his characteristics and they haven't even played Psychonauts yet.
I suppose, although I reckon that if (and it's a big if) there was another Psychonauts game, it'd either feature completely different characters or be based around one of the more central characters, and I'm not sure that Vernon would be considered "central" enough. Still, it would be excellent.
Yeah, if they did make a sequel, the ones who I'm 99% sure will be in it are Raz (obviously), Lili and the four agents at Whispering Rock. Still, an appearance from the other characters would be nice.

I find your lack of Dogen disturbing.

Yeah, it's an odd sort of subgenre to try and describe, it has a mix of action, strategy and humour all rolled up into one.

No, I'm most comfortable with Windows Media Player. With the ease of the MSN and Last.fm plugins, I like Windows Media Player a lot. And both the old level system golden gauntlet and the new level system golden gauntlet just aren't as simple and nice looking as the silver versions, which are more streamlined, sleek, and just plain better, even the gold vs. silver debate aside.

Arg, can't I have the gauntlet now if you don't like it as much as the others do? Then again, by doing that, my main will miss out the opportunity to have the 41 - 46 icons, and they all rule.

Joshua Tree is my second favorite. The only thing with that album is that I hear the singles so damn often on the radio. And they play them on almost every live show as well =/
Just as Achtung Baby is my second fave. #;-}>

You are lucky to have a radio station that plays Joshua Tree songs a lot. Here in my town, the most U2 I here on the stations I listen to... are War-era singles on the classic rock station. I mean, sure, every now and then there's Where the Streets Have No Name, too... but not very often compared to SBS and Like a Song from War.

*fixes the post first*

We also had a Classic Rock station that played a lot of U2, but unfortunately they went bankrupt recently. They used to play some Achtung Baby from time to time and even songs like Gone passed by every now and again.

Now we still have an 80's and 90's station, but that´s usually the Joshua Tree stuff I was talking about (Where the Streets, Still haven´t found, With or without You). I´d be glad if they played some War or Boy sometimes. Would make a nice change.

But when it comes to best from start to finish, and most good songs, it's Achtung Baby, yes. There's only one song on the entire album that I don't like very much and usually
skip. Otherwise it's straight through nearly anytime.

I´m guessing that song is So Cruel?
Nope! Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World. Something about the "... fish like a bicycle..." line and the song as a whole that just turn me off. Doesn't feel like it fits in the album as much as every single other song on the album fits. I wish it had been a b-side and Lady with the Spinning Head (an excellent b-side which I have in 2 different versions from two different AB-era singles) had been on the album instead.

I think the line is:
"And a woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle".

Weird line indeed.

The live performances of the song feel pretty good though and I don´t have much problems with the original either although I don´t listen to it often.

But I agree that Lady with the Spinning Head would´ve fitted quite well on the album. Do you have an original version of it by the way? Because all I could find was a 6 minute long extended remix version (which was awesome) and a very early version. Which was more a mix between Lady With The Spinning Head and Ultraviolet along with the line Wake Up Dead Man somewhere. Which also had it´s own name: Wanna Take You Down (you probably know it).

550 HOURS!!?? Jesus Christ. I probably haven´t even played Majora´s
Mask for that long and I´ve beaten that game at least 10 times by now.
700ish hours now! Blame the spy/sniper update from 5/21...

TF2 is the most fun multiplayer FPS ever, and has no plot, no start and no finish, and... thus... comparing how many hours of a single player game with a storyline like a Zelda game... you have... to how much time in TF2... is not even comparing apples and oranges... it's like comparing eating chocolate ice cream to hiking up a mountain!

Okay maybe that isn´t such a good comparisation, but come on. 700 hours on one game is just insane. You would say that after an hour or 200, you would´ve seen and done everything and the boredom would start to set in. At least that´s usually how it goes with me.

Cautious? But what for, I mean you can flag abusive reviews and delete them afterwards to get points right? Can´t you easily get a gold whistle on your first day?
Yeah, I suppose you could. I'm not one who would want to use the privelages in this way, because that could get them revoked.

Hmm that seems pretty harsh to me. This seems like one of those typical cases where everyone is doing it and thus it gets legalized. But I guess I wouldn´t want to run the risk.

Be quick or be dead! ^^

Just try slow reduction in both departments before you shut it all off at once. Wish more people would try that slow reduction first... ;_;

I guess I can say I am not as active as I used to be a year ago (but still a lot more active than I was in 2002-2004 :D ). My B/P pace has dropped a lot and I rarely review these days. Even though I started again to write at least some audio reviews every now and then.
But it seems as if I can't get them above 847. I passed that amount at least three times now, and every time some other submission I reviewed got deleted... ^^

Depends. SC is the final level for B/P, while 100,000 is just pushing it further and further and further...

He might have. ;)
Man, AVGN should put out a new episode like once a week...
Nah, that's too much. After all, he has interviews, his wife and other things to care of as well as his show. Every week would be overkill for him.

It was just wishful thinking. I really liked his reviews for the Terminator games and now I'm just in the right mood to watch new stuff from him.
But I decided to watch some HVGN videos instead. Not as good as AVGN, but still good enough to fill the gap until a new AVGN episode is released. :)

The identity confusion is killin' my buzz here. #;-}>
I just wondered how many posts from gfox it would take to reach 0.01 per day. You're a bigger stat whore than me, so you work it out :P

Oh, well, if that's all you want to know, then yeah, I'll just work it out sometime. This is assuming that NG's profiles don't have wonky rounding when it comes to the ppd stat, though (which sometimes I think they kinda do... I remember that back in the day I used to use my ppd to find my "days on NG," and of course the number wasn't very consistent due to the ppd not going to enough significant digits).

Anyway, just look at my ppd for gfoxclock, and you should get a good idea. Divide gfoxclock's postcount by his "ppd units," and you should have how many posts gfox needs for 0.01 ppd, if that makes any sense. Hell, I'll do it now:

he's got 236 posts and 0.11 ppd. So 21.45 posts per ppd unit. I'd guess it'd take at least 15-20 posts minimum for gfox to get a 0.01 ppd. It's hard without knowing exactly where within "0.11" gfoxclock is, of course.

If you really care, go find my "days of account life" stats on NG log and boom, you're golden. #;-}>

Well, that's your own fault. You've obviously been planning this for a while and as a result, you couldn't let excruciating pain stand in the way of your hard earned, easily spent moneys!

Well, it's more that I didn't want her to know I was in pain during my proposal to her until afterwards. Didn't want to ruin it for her. ;_;

Anyway, she's not big on ceremony. It was my idea to do the proposal 1 year to the day before our wedding date, she wouldn't care when it was, in fact she was all "baaaaahhhh, you don't need to get me an engagement ring, we're pretty much already engaged." She woulda been fine had I just gotten matching wedding bands (which I did as well). But I found a really nice silver ring with a celtic knot on top that would be more of a "central/top dealie like engagement rings tend to stereotypically have a jewel of some sort atop, most stereotypically a nice African blood diamond, of course"... versus the perfectly round/same-width-all-around wedding bands for both of us....

And so you should. You're (nearly) a married man now!

FUNK DAT! I'mma suffer through it. HIGH PAIN TOLERANCE WIN.

Wait, what?

Well, you'd made your comment about how gfox had his level 42ness but the damned bastard never posts. And that bit earlier you replied to in this post where I kinda said "hmmm, maybe I should announce my gfoxclock achievements with gfoxclock and my gfox achievements with gfox, thereby finally posting with gfox... to avoid the confusion that people sometimes mix up my account names.".... but then no one confused gfox with gfoxcook like they confused gfoxclock with gfoxcook (probably just due to name character-length).... so gfox seems free and clear in the "not needing to post EVAR" department. #;-}>

Had you put gfoxcook "accidentally" instead of gfox when congratting my alt alt on level 42, then the perfect record my gratters had on that level 42 congrats woulda been shattered, and I couldn't point to that and say... woot! Free and clear.

No, I'm most comfortable with Windows Media Player. With the ease of the MSN and Last.fm plugins, I like Windows Media Player a lot. Not that fond with the other major media softwares such as Winamp or iTunes. I've had some trouble with them in the past. Windows Media Player on the other hand, no problems at all. :)

I hated the concept of iTunes before I ever tried it, but my baby used iTunes, so I tried it out. Aside from some minor issues I have with how it stores its library in an .xml and how hard it is to transfer shit from one computer to another, I like it a lot.

Also, I can still avoid ever getting an iPod or an iPhone. I just use iTunes, which I didn't pay for. Woot woot.

And anyway, the main thing is that it works fine with all my ol' mp3s I ripped and used to play on winamp BACK IN THE DAY (i.e. the good ol' 90s).

Where were you talking about? NG logs or RG?

Also, 25 is a quarter of 100. What could be bad about that? 75 rocks due to being 3/4 of 100, even though it's odd AND not a square, actually.
I'm glad we think alike. 25 is a great number for being a quarter of 100.

Ah, I see. So it's the 80s station playing too much JT singles for your tastes, not the classic rock station, at least. Hm.

Yeah, some AB would get played, too. And we have an 80s station as well, but they play so much 80s one hit wonders and even early 90s stuff that U2 doesn't get played too often. At least, not when I'm listening.

But I tend to listen to sports talk radio, news radio, and the classic rock and classic rock/oldies music stations more than I listen to the 80s station (it'd be my 3rd choice on FM/music), so... maybe I just miss all the JT singles they play, too. #;-}>

And I usually don't screw up my U2 lyrics quotings, so... that shows you I meant what I said about skipping that one a lot. #;-}>

Indeed. Well, I don't know if it's original, but I have the 6 minute long remix that you mention, yes, which is nice, and I have a 4 minute long more "standard" seeming one, that feels like less of a remix, but might still be a remix, I don't remember.

I don't think it's a very early version like the one you mention, at least.

And I'm not actually familiar with Wanna Take You Down. Stunner, I know. #;-}>

Well, you COULD say that, but you have to remember that Valve keeps adding stuff to TF2 and changing how the classes work, and there's constantly new custom maps being made by TF2 players. I have literally 200 maps in my maps directory just from all the DLing my TF2 automatically does when I play on my favourite custom servers.

And I'd actually estimate that yeah, about every 200 hours of playtime, the game gets changed to keep it fresh (new weapons, new maps, new gamemodes, slight gameplay tweaks, class tweaks, map edits, etc.). You're right, it would be insane to have played it 700 hours if it hadn't changed at all in that time (but I don't play the X-Box 360 version, so... that ain't me #;-}>).

Seriously, I got it after the medic pack and the pyro pack had already made changes, then 2 months after I got it, the heavy pack happened... 3 months later they changed a lot of stuff about engie/spy/medic, but not a full class pack... great stuff, though, like lv2/lv3 teles and lv2/lv3 dispensers to go with the already lv1/lv2/lv3 sentry guns... etc. etc... then 2 months later, the scout pack happened.... then 3 months later the spy/sniper pack happened. And that was 2 weeks ago.

Always stayin' fresh!

really? O_o alexsmolik was bigger on General than I ever was. I'm surprised you don't at least recognise his name.

For me it would be:
Belgium: Casualty
Netherlands: Auz
France: sonofkirk

I forget that sonofkirk's from France, he probably doesn't bring it up as much as alex used to.

But yeah, I should probably replace nimmer and lightning with Casualty and Auz in my mental list, since they're around more than the ones in my list. ;_;

Also, I've just finished my week-long playthrough of the entire Phoenix Wright series (including Apollo Justice)....
My honey did something similar. I guess she was learning so many Phoenix Wright memes in her normal online hangouts, so she got all 4 of the DS titles, the 3 PW ones and the 1 AJ one or whatever, and she beat them all within like a week or so last year... and loved 'em.

I tried like 1 case of the very first one and couldn't get into it. There's something wrong with me, I guess. ;_;

BLASPHEMY!!!

Just kidding. Yeah, they're not for everyone, you'll either get bored/become apathetic or become absolutely hooked (I was very much the latter). Don't write yourself off yet though, I tried in vain to get a friend into them 6 months ago and failed, now he's changed his mind and is playing through them as we speak.

I do enjoy a good flash about PW, though.

Some of the Phoenix Wrong parodies are good, but like any parody series their copycats are a bit hit-and-miss.

Yeah, it's an odd sort of subgenre to try and describe, it has a mix of action, strategy and humour all rolled up into one.

It was just wishful thinking. I really liked his reviews for the Terminator games and now I'm just in the right mood to watch new stuff from him.
But I decided to watch some HVGN videos instead. Not as good as AVGN, but still good enough to fill the gap until a new AVGN episode is released. :)

It's not easy making a review of good games, but HVGN does his best and is the best AVGN tribute out there. Infact, there's a lot of other great video game reviewers out there and we owe it all to AVGN. :)

Nah, that's too much. After all, he has interviews, his wife and other things to care of as well as his show. Every week would be overkill for him.
If AVGN were really such a AVGN, he woulda killed his wife by now after violently and angrily throwing an old NES controller at her face during one of his ragefests post-fail at a hard old NES game.

He's only a character, hence why he'll never kill his wife out of frustration from video games.

Didn't say it was going to be soon, exactly. In fact, I believe I told you that retiring gfox at 36,000 exp was a possibility. #;-}> Now, SOME people might call that day soon, but I certainly wouldn't.

You once said to me on Steam it'll stop at level 42.

Hey I stopped hating on GTA. Now we need iscrulz to stop hating on FF.

We'll stop doing it once you're not being such a slacker. :P

Which 20 are they? :P
The 20 with mainstream hardcore dragon porn. But the 17 ones with dragon SNUFF porn in them were taking it just a bit TOO FAR.

OOOOOOOOH YEEEEEEAH! Hardcore dragon porn FTW!

Yep, yep. I think I had about 6 UOTDs there. Still 0 at NG logs, of course. ;_;

5 UOTDs on NG Log including alts.

STOP SLACKING!
I DID. NOW WHATCHOU GONNA DO?

.....37?

Heh, I got a second Medic milestone since then, yay.
The kritzkrieg one? You still don't have an ubersaw, though, do you? If you do, I can delete the extra one I'm lugging around for ya.

I'll probably get the Ubersaw via achievements soon enough. I appreciate your offer, though.

Arg, can't I have the gauntlet now if you don't like it as much as the others do? Then again, by doing that, my main will miss out the opportunity to have the 41 - 46 icons, and they all rule.
Wish I could let you have this dinky ol' level 47 gauntlet till I level up, sure... Especially if I could use level 42 in the meantime. Mmmmm... level 42.

Your alt alt already has it and I won't have it until the end of Rocktober.

Everything's big with dragons. :)
Then it's more epic, yes.

If it had been a human-sized chainsaw being held by a dragon who was running around with this tiny little thing, then it wouldn't have been very epic at all, really.

Of course not. That's why they need bigger chainsaws, although that sounds like we're lumberjacks.

My advice: Use Wordpad instead.
Nah. I'll just try to avoid SAVING my catchups from now on in notepad. I'll just do them on the fly, so that they stay proper.

Word-fucking-pad!

I didn't say I was gonna start QUOTING from them... though there was this really epic Vince Offer vs Billy Mays youtube poop where.... :::gets knocked out by a dragon tail before he can finish the sentence:::
