I think I've fulfilled one of the criteria that shows why I'm a Review Mod today - I finally got my Gold Whistle back.
Something I feel that I should have to keep the whole "golden" imagery of my profile :)
Took me a while after being modded as well. Almost 2 freaking months!
3,000 saves.
It took me only a little more then a week to chalk up a hundred protection points.

Congrats on that gold whistle.
You would think that it would be a requirement right?
So do you get to review your own whistled reviews? I mean give yourself points?

It's not something that you should be able to do - I check the most recent reviews list for shitty stuff after I've done the purging of the flags for my part. Like I said, it took me 8 weeks to get there after being modded, so I'm still being slow and cautious.

Activision haven't produced many quality games recently, even still no amount of them could justify their bullshit tactics.
I feel the same way, in fact, I haven't bought an Activision game in years, simply because the games that they produce just don't appeal to me, for example, I'm not a big FPS fan, so CoD wouldn't interest me in the slightest.

Indeed, a game based on that one level would be amazing. What'd also be amazing is a Vernon Tripe game. After all, my friends love his characteristics and they haven't even played Psychonauts yet.Naw, I want a Bobby Zilch game! And a G-Men game.G-Men would be pretty damn incredible, in fact screw that, we need a game entitled The Milkman Conspiracy. Trying to make an entire game about it might not work, but hey, that was probably the single greatest level from any game I've ever played.
I suppose, although I reckon that if (and it's a big if) there was another Psychonauts game, it'd either feature completely different characters or be based around one of the more central characters, and I'm not sure that Vernon would be considered "central" enough. Still, it would be excellent.

Last game of theirs I bought was Guitar Hero III. I actually wish I got into Guitar Hero sooner as the first two games didn't seem too bad. Plus, there was an effective way to get custom tracks on GHII. Too late for that, though.

Yeah, if they did make a sequel, the ones who I'm 99% sure will be in it are Raz (obviously), Lili and the four agents at Whispering Rock. Still, an appearance from the other characters would be nice.

Was once preparing this account now abandoned, I'll keep on depositing - level 11.
*** PRE-CATCHUP rambles (and then massive amounts of thanks listage... in the next post due to running out of SPACE, goddamnit!) ***
First off... forgot to mention when I announced my alt alt level up the other day (perhaps because it's not really an achievement, and thus PLEASE DO NOT GRAT ME FOR THIS, OR ELSE THE DOG GETS IT), but... THIS account, my main, is exactly 3600 saves from 36000 saves, my final retirement point!
And yes, I hit 3600 away from 36000 like.... 10 days ago and have been sitting there nice and blissfully on purpose. #;-}> Thereby hindering my actual arrival at 36k, of course, but no worries... I'll start moving again tomorrow. Just... yeah. OCD.
Oh, one interesting thing about this spot I've paused at that I noticed on NG log:
being 3600 saves away from my goal means... 36k blams + 32.4k saves = 68.4k total b/p and a 1.111 blam/save ratio. 1.11111111111111111111111111, in fact. Perfection! Beauty! Woot! .... but again, NOT AN ACHIEVEMENT. Just cool numbery stuff for all the other folk out there who know about/share my 36 appreciation/love and/or love repeating strings of numbers like 1111 and the like.
...
Oh, and in other 36y news (I'm your only trusted source for that, yanno!) I just noticed while checking how far along the current page of LUL is that this topic is currently 2411.366666666666666666666666666etc.etc.
etc. (NO, I WILL NOT ROUND UP TO 7, BAHAMUT!!!!) pages long. Woot!
(yes, a page on NG being at .366666666... of the way through... happens every time a page has 11 posts out of the 30 limit, but... STILL!!!!! The timing, people... it's all in THE TIMING!)
...
And finally... I think I dropped by here to briefly mention IRL and NG achievements 3 times since my last catchup batch, AND AS A RESULT, there are way way way too many congrats, YOUSE GUYS is too kind!...... but I shall carry on and thank each and every one of ya nonetheless. However, as I sometimes do, 'twill be grouped together by grat timing... because saying thanks or some variant thereof dozens of times starts to feel a bit too much like handwriting a shitload of RSVP party invites and trying to make them all feel different enough/personal enough not to be a form letter. ;_;

Nope, I didn't. But as the above link shows, I DID use gfoxclock to post about his 20,000 exp landmark. Probably because he'd slipped from 236 posts to 235 posts due to some old thread somewhere being deleted years later (WTF????) quite recently at that point. HAD TO RESTORE THAT 236 POSTMARK.
But anyway, I'll try to get gfoxclock--AND MAYBE EVEN GFOX? (to Coop's enjoyments, judging from his post on June 7th... so on second though, NAHHHH, hyurrr, take that!)--more involved in their own achievements soon enough, I guess. The identity confusion is killin' my buzz here. #;-}>

Just as Achtung Baby is my second fave. #;-}>
You are lucky to have a radio station that plays Joshua Tree songs a lot. Here in my town, the most U2 I here on the stations I listen to... are War-era singles on the classic rock
station. I mean, sure, every now and then there's Where the Streets Have No Name, too... but not very often compared to SBS and Like a Song from War.
Anyway, I myself was born in the very late 80's so I sort of missed the peak era´s of U2 unfortunatly :( Bad was the song that got me into U2. It made me curious and so I
borrowed the best of 80's-90's CD which I loved immediatly after listening through it once. After that I started listening more and more to them. But this was only in the year 1999-
2000
Cool.
But when it comes to best from start to finish, and most good songs, it's Achtung Baby, yes. There's only one song on the entire album that I don't like very much and usually
skip. Otherwise it's straight through nearly anytime.
I´m guessing that song is So Cruel?
Nope! Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World. Something about the "... fish like a bicycle..." line and the song as a whole that just turn me off. Doesn't feel like it fits in the
album as much as every single other song on the album fits. I wish it had been a b-side and Lady with the Spinning Head (an excellent b-side which I have in 2 different versions
from two different AB-era singles) had been on the album instead.
550 HOURS!!?? Jesus Christ. I probably haven´t even played Majora´s
Mask for that long and I´ve beaten that game at least 10 times by now.
700ish hours now! Blame the spy/sniper update from 5/21...
TF2 is the most fun multiplayer FPS ever, and has no plot, no start and no finish, and... thus... comparing how many hours of a single player game with a storyline like a Zelda
game... you have... to how much time in TF2... is not even comparing apples and oranges... it's like comparing eating chocolate ice cream to hiking up a mountain!

Not only that, but I LIKE 25.
It's 5 squared. Remember how much I like squares.
There's four types of numbers, really, in my "gut reaction the moment I see a number" internal judgement-o-meter brain section:
1. squares, repeated digits, ascending/descending number clusters, cool things like that
2. even numbers
3. odd numbers
4. prime numbers (which are also odd, of course, so this is a detestable EVEN-LOWER subset of #3)
25 isn't even, but it's a square! So it's actually cooler than most "normal" even numbers. Mwahaha!
Then you don't know gfox well enough. ;_;It's not a prime number. Therefore, it's ineffective. It is truly effective because it balances out the 37 to a 36, prime or not.
Indeed. BAHAMUT WIN.
Also, 25 is a quarter of 100. What could be bad about that? 75 rocks due to being 3/4 of 100, even though it's odd AND not a square, actually. So my above 1,2,3,4 list is clearly
incomplete, but anyway... it's kinda #1 meets #3, which puts it below most #1 category numbers, probably on par with most #2s (evens in general).

Oh, I see now. Still, 25 isn't that effective considering it's not a prime number.Oh and I contrar 35 is 5 (prime) times 7 (prime) it is a primetime number boy.
But two primes multiplied together are no longer offensive to me, except in that they thus always produce an odd number, which means the resulting number is... odd after all, and by gfox definition... not as good as even numbers. But nothing exceptionally horrible about them as a matter of course.
35's a solid number. One of the better odds. But still in my bottom half of numbers, yes. It'd have to be. It's odd. #;-}>
The real question is which EVEN numbers are in my bottom half of numbers (since there are some odd numbers, like 25, or say 1111, or 12345, or such... falling under my category #1 of the above post, pushing out a few of my least fave even numbers from the top 50% of all numbers).
Then you don't know gfox well enough. ;_;I know him well enough he is a Houston Rockets fan wait I hope they beat the 76ers, my Pistons lost in the first round to Lebron James, first time Detroit didn't get into the Eastern Conference finals.
Why would the Rockets have been playing the 76ers, anyway? O_o
I just wish the Rockets had beaten the Lakers. So close to another title. Oh well. Doesn't hurt anywhere near as bad as the year the Cardinals won the World Series (the Astros nearly passed them for the division/a postseason ticket in September of 2006... and had they done so, I have complete confidence they would have beaten the same teams the Cardinals beat that year, and won the WS the year after they made it to the WS but lost to the ChiSox, which would have been epic).
Uh okay I said that because I don't have any well I am around 50 so it will be like a small flash review boost just as audio reviews are so is Byteslinger going to logify them. No, medals makes it more fairer while medal points would have been chaotic.I plan to count medals, not medal points.okay, I don't think they should be counted, imho.
I don't care to count either medals OR medal points in with all the other stats, personally, but since I don't make lists anymore, my word is not even partial law.
That said, as a list appreciater, my vote's for counting just medals themselves, not points.
Probably because I'm a bigger fan of Steam achievements (where you just get achievements, and the total # of them is what you can see as a stat) more than I am of MS Windows Live/Xbox Live achievements, where not only is there the achievement count, but that silly ol' Gamerscore.
Medal points count is too much like Gamerscore, and as such I don't care for it too much, other than not wanting my total to sit at 3700 or something in the future.

And for the record, the only reason I was saying Dream Theatre to you guys is I FORGOTS THEY WAS AN AMERICAN BAND. Sheesh.
Yes cool now lets see if gfox will be mah friend. I am making lots of friends err enemies trolling the comments.
wheeeee. YT funs.
I am hardcore straight edge I just sell the shit, I don't dip into my own supply. *Looks at acid*.
Do NOT drink that hcl, man. That's not the kind of acid you were told about. :::nods sagely:::
I said 36 sucks and 37 rules to him. I got genuine death threats I had to change my phone number. I started to praise 36 and the threats stopped. At 5/12/09 04:19 AM, Aci6 wrote: Speaking of favourite numbers, I asked my sister what her number was; she said her 3 and 7 were her two favourites and after some thought she answered with 37.Better hide her away from gfox.
Heh. You tell 'em.
Anyway, no need to hide his sister away from me, I don't want to come anywhere near her. I'd rather someone hid ME away from HER. o_o

Pfft. TF2 > any medal game on NG. That's no knock on NG games, mind you... and besides, TF2 > all other regular computer games, too. It's not any other game's fault that it can't compare, TF2 is just the ultimate, that's all. Something HAS to be best, and something else has to settle for 2nd best aspirations at most. #;-}>
- Congrats aldlv for finding that missing user in the B/P list! Too bad I'm not going to be the first '08 user to achieve Supreme Commander :(I know how you feel, but second is better than 11th or so. There were a bunch of 04'ers who reached Supreme Commander before me.
2nd 2008 user to EGSC? That's excellent!
I don't even remember what # I was of 2000 users.... there's one stat I never even noticed or thought of, let alone kept track of. #;-}>

All is well. :)
Heh. I really doubt iscrulz was waiting with baited breath for me to friend him back, but... anywhooooo.

I take it the above bit between Bahamut and... I believe Hacsev, but I may have screwed up that quote attrib up there... started a larger conversation about the EGSC orders of various years besides just 2008 and 2004, eh?
Order of 2000 Supreme Commanders
01.gfoxcook
02.Nijsse
03.Wylo
04.Stormwarden
05.CaptianBob
06.simon
Interesting.
A) I didn't remember Nijsse was a 2000 user.
B) I kinda thought CaptainBob was a 1999 user, but... yeah, now that I think about it, I think his user ID# was around 10,000... well, it was more than 4 digits (which mine is), in any event. So no way. WHOOPS. MEMORY SPOTTY.
C) yo simon, what was your username back in the day? Yeah. Memory, I know. See above. #;-}>
That's all for now. I'll do an '06 to the present at some point. And '02-'03, too, if I ever get the last part of the list sorted out.
Sorry for not putting this all in one post. I wasn't expecting to do any years besides 2004.
Put it in its own thread, it's interesting enough to have a thread about it. Or if not, then a userpage newspost.

Man, I woulda loved a 36kbps modem back in the day. Closest I had was 33.6 kbps. They jumped straight from that to 56k or 56.1k or whatever it was exactly.
Is your current connection speed really 36k? ay-yi-yi.... ;_;
Then again, at my parents' house out in the countryside, they can only get 23k or so on a 56k modem, due to the crappy phone lines and the distance to the dialed number being used to connect to the internet, so.... 36k > 23k, at least. #;-}>

I was gonna reply to that part of his post and say "Steam is all the store you need!" but then I reread the start of his post, and when he talked about the free TF2 weekend, he mentioned that once it was over, he couldn't keep playing because he no haz teh credit cards.
So he's trying to find it in a brick & mortar store to buy it with cash, presumably, since he has no credit cards.
Sir Nuts, if there's no stores there in Brazil near you that seem to have TF2 or the Orange Box (you did know it comes in that, right? Maybe you've been seeing that at various computer game/software stores and just didn't know it had TF2 in it? ... I kinda hope this is the case, since it'll mean you can pick it up real soon! #;-}>).... I might also suggest trying to find it (in the Orange Box, or by itself, whichever... but Orange Box is a great investment--7 games for 1 price, never more than 2x the cost of TF2 on its own, from what I've seen) on a website (maybe amazon.com?) that offers payment methods other than just credit card. Maybe there's a (reputable) site out there that'll ship you the Orange Box if you write 'em a check? Or if you have no bank account, then turn your cash into a money order? They do that at Post Offices here in the US, dunno where you'd have to go in Brazil.
Also, I second Bahamut's "wish you'd let us know you were gonna play on the free weekend" thought, Sir Nuts.... woulda been neat to break yer TF2 cherry among friends!
And lastly: what's your Steam username? Even if you'll only be playing TF2 on free weekends for the foreseeable future, that's still better than nothing. Let me and Bahamut know it either here or privately via PM, and we'll friend ya!

What do you mean by last? How long we last at staying retired or how long we last at taking until we retire?
'twas unclear to me which of the above you meant because Coop seemed to indicate that either Nijsse or biteme wrecked their perfect retirement numbers.... once I hit MY 2nd set of perfect retirement numbers, I shant be wrecking it. Evar. I've made it.... nearly 4 years without gaining a single blam on this account, why would I ever screw up... ever? I did wonder about that before I retired at 24k/36k, but my track record has set even my paranoid OCD mind at ease about future things.
Using opera ONLY for gfoxcook and using firefox ONLY for gfoxclock/gfox helps a lot, and it's why I started that system when I retired in October '05. If I ever make a mistake, it'll be getting a save or blam for gfox by accident instead of gfoxclock, and that I can live with. The only reason I don't b/p for gfox is that I need to blam for gfoxclock and save for gfoxcook, but once I retire my main at twin 36ks, I won't mind the occasional accidental sharing between my two alts. #;-}>
And if you meant how long will it take me to get to retirement... well, not too long. I was predicting 2010 some time ago (mid-2008 or so), but based on how close I am now, and if Clock Day '09 is as good for me as the last two CDs were, then I can see myself getting there even before 2010 hits. Time will tell.
