Good match indeed, although I missed the first two goals. The second goal by Christiano Ronaldo and the penalty by Robin van Persie were really nice though. Really good counter attack and one of the best taken penatlies I´ve ever seen.
Yeah, I enjoyed every single second of it, it was an incredibly exciting game. Ronaldo's freekick was also fantastic, granted that Almunia should've gotten to it, but the power it was hit with was incredible.
I missed Chelsea - Barcelona for the most part. I see it´s 1-0 for Chelsea now.
Make that 1-1, and a Man U - Barca final. This was a really strange game though, both goals were incredible
I`ve seen that last goal. Very good shot by Iniesta. Seemed like a big mistake from Essien who completely missed the ball when he tried to clear it.
Hero to villain within 84 minutes.
Chelsea had at least 5 penalty shouts turned down (two of which had substance in my view) which is resulting in basically the entire Chelsea team almost attacking the referee and disgracing themselves
I´ve seen that last penalty request (mainly made by Ballack), but that was really bullshit. Sure the defender got hit on the shoulder, but there was absolutely no intension to touch the ball with his arm.
The case with Pique was clearly a penalty though.
Agreed about Pique, that was the only 2nd half shout I thought had credibility, there was another one involving Drogba in the first half where he got his shirt pulled and then tripped, but I guess his reputation caught up with him.
Abidal got sent off unfairly and the crowd basically booed Barca start to finish.
I just saw the red card. As far as I could see it was indeed a bit unfair. Or at least, it did not seem like Abidals intention was to trip that other player. It seemed like Abidal accidentily brought the Chelsea attacker off balance. It was all a bit unfortunate and not worth a red card.
I didn't even see any contact after the first few replays, to me it looked like Anelka tripped over himself. On second reflection though there may have been some minor contact, but it seemed accidental at worst, so it was still harsh in my view.
As I type this it's looking like Drogba is about to punch the ref even though it's already over, disgraceful. UEFA might even have to get involved.
Yeah, I can imagine it´s frustrating to lose 3 minutes in the extra time, but as far as I could see it was fair and square mostly. Drogda had a great chance to decide the game, but he missed. So I guess they mainly have themselves to blame.
Very true. Apparently UEFA will wait for the ref's report before deciding whether to charge Chelsea with failing to control their players, but I can't see them not charging them with something.
