The number looks rather hefty, but I am quite disappointed that the heftiness does not reflect as much as I would like in my rank. I mean, sure, a double digit exp rank is pretty nifty, but memories of a top 50 exp list with a large majority of people having under 10k exp haunt me.
Well, congrats nonetheless. 20k is an awesome mark to reach. And just think... if you don't miss too many deposits, those feelings you hoped you'd feel when you hit 20k... they'll probably happen when you hit 30k instead!

It saves fucking lives nearly every week, when everyone else on the case would have fucked things up worse than House ever could. What show were YOU watching? O_oYeah, it does help people, but I got the impression that it's just a side-effect. House doesn't care if the patient is dead or alive, as long as he can make fun of others because they where wrong and he was right.
But we (the viewers) DO care, so we're happy he helps people. At least, we're supposed to be. Whether it's accidental or on purpose (and I don't think either you or I can make that judgement... he's a richly complex character, which is the whole point, and the appeal, IMO).
But I only watched 3 or 4 episodes before I decided I don't like it. ^^
Bah. That's a small sample size, but I will admit probably enough to get a taste for House's character.
What about supporting cast, though? It's changed over the seasons, and there's literally like 8 regulars besides House on the show now (his 3 new assistants, his 3 old assistants, plus Wilson and Cuddy makes 8 non-House peops)... why not watch the show for them? ;_;
We deposit the same damned 10 exp every day. Why do we do it? Because if it ain't broke, you don't fix it.We do it because we are stat-whores. But at least those 10 Exp come from different movies. :P (except of course you vote on the same movies every day to deposit. ;) )
And repitition tends to get boring pretty fast.
We don't all watch every single movie we deposit on while voting... the actual act of hitting a vote # is repetitive. Moreso than each ep of House, trust me. That's one place where your 3-4 ep exerience isn't big enough to make you an expert on how repetitive the plotlines are in House eps. #;-}>
If it wasn't the same fucking thing in every episode, it would mean the formula doesn't work, and the show wouldn't be as popular as it is.For me, the formula DOESN'T work. Or else I wouldn't say "House is shite!"

Nearly 100 people died because of the evacuation of Houston (i.e. the attempting to "get away in time."), which is more than the people who died from the actual hurricane this year...That is human evolution in action, my friend. Another example of Evolution is the people dumb enough to try and loot the property of the one guy who has too many guns for 'sporting activities' for his own good.
It's (ahem) human evolution for a bus full of nursing home evacuees to explode thanks to all the oxygen tanks on it, and for countless other people to die in traffic incidents, and for others to die of heatstroke and carbon monoxide inhalation... all during what turned out to be a pointless evacuation thanks to a powerful storm shifting 50 miles eastward...?
... I thought it was technology and civilisation to blame (with a little assist from the fear nature can inspire in humans instinctively... which is evolution-related, I suppose, but that's a bit tenuous).
But I'll make sure to remember that it's just evolution at work next time I'm in a rubbernecking line past a gruesome auto wreck scene... O_O

When I first read your "video games in a blindfold = fail" post while catching up, I was thinking to myself that the only game of mine I could imagine me playing IS Guitar Hero, actually. There are a few tracks in GH3 I know well enough on medium or maybe even hard... to probably at least PASS the song with some practice.
Compare that to trying to play some old platformer classics without being able to see the screen:
Super Mario Bros
Mega Man
Kid Icarus
(the originals, I mean)
... uber-hard. You'd be falling into gaps and dying constantly... not to mention how the hell to aim at enemies/get the timing right on ANYthing in a level.
Even Metroid (which doesn't have any endless void gaps like those three, and so many others) would be nearly impossible to play with a blindfold (unless you got to peek every 20-30 seconds for a second or two or something, which COULD make it doable)...
GH wouldn't be easy to play that way, but it'd be easy compared to so very many other games. #;-}>

Boston, New York (Formerly New Amsterdam), Worcester, Birmingham, Plymouth etc.
Well, Birmingham, Alabama wasn't exactly named by the original pioneers, but... yeah. While the European naming schemes of American towns is especially prevalent in the original colonies... all 50 states bear evidence of it to varying degrees.

You can pretty much do GH blindfolded with performance mode. :P
GH wouldn't be easy to play that way, but it'd be easy compared to so very many other games. #;-}>
I was trying to play Tomb Raider 1 blindfolded.

Unless I'm misinterpreting Dick Valentine, lead singer of Electric Six... I believe by "It's/its my desire" he meant "It is my desire," which... we use the contraction "it's" for...
"Its my desire" doesn't make any sense. It would be like saying "Her my desire" instead of "She's my desire." ... you ... do see that, right? #;-}>
Possibly unnecessary possessives vs. "is" contractions lesson FTW.
Well, I must have had one messed up morning there. But I think I was referring to the fact that it put me in the mind of it's (posessive), which would be wrong.
Coop, what on earth WERE you smoking on the 7th, anywho. #;-}>
God only knows.

DAMN YOU FOR KNOWING MORE ABOUT A STATE I'VE DRIVEN THROUGH THAN I DO, COOP. I'll get you for this. NEXT TIME. Next time, Gadget!
Google knows more than you :P
I'm about halfway between Worcester and Birmingham. Yes, I am aware that there is a Birmingham in Alabama. When the pioneers came across from England, Holland, Spain, Portugal and France, they named many places after towns where they had once lived. Boston, New York (Formerly New Amsterdam), Worcester, Birmingham, Plymouth etc.Well, Birmingham, Alabama wasn't exactly named by the original pioneers, but... yeah. While the European naming schemes of American towns is especially prevalent in the original colonies... all 50 states bear evidence of it to varying degrees.
I know that Birmingham, Alabama is situated in the Deep South, as opposed to New England, like the rest of the places are.
Tribute, by Tenacious D?Bad ass idea. Too bad Bahamut is lame and doesn't know about things like... say.. that... or Star Wars. He's still no DD, at least. At least he knows about Danger! High Voltage. :::nods enthusiastically:::
Come on Greg, comparing Bahamut to anyone of that... calibre is really harsh.
