Gotcha.A blade is a generic term for any sword. That's why I said "twin blades." I wasn't actually titling the swords "blades." O_oYeah, my bad. I thought "blade" is a special kind of sword. Translation error. ^^
In some RPGs, you might see Blade used instead of Sword as part of the name or title for a specific sword, but usually with modifiers (such as... Flame Sword... Ice Blade... etc.). Maybe that's what threw you?
Yeah, maybe.
Ahhh yes, the colour naming scene. It's been a few years since I've seen that movie, but it's a great scene. Only Mistah Brown and Mistah Pink have a problem with their names. #;-}>At 6/17/08 08:22 PM, gfoxcook wrote: What quote is that again? #;-}>It's... hey, wait! Hilarious! :D
At least they lost to the new NBA Champion. And at least the damn Lakers didn't win the championship again.Amen to that last bit. Good to see the Celtics win one after 2+ decades off. I hope this doesn't start a string of dominance for them, though... if the Lakers are the Yankees of basketball, then the Celtics are surely either the Red Sox or Cardinals, in challenging for hogging the most championships...
I wouldn't mind if they would do so, as I like the Celtics (but of course not as much as I like the Pistons ;) ). And I really REALLY don't like the Lakers. They look kinda silly in their yellow/purple dresses anyway... ^^
That's not always true. You know about Mike Myers' Germanish industrial-techno-listening black-bodysuit-clad talk show host character from Saturday Night Live back in the early 90s, don't you?Because most Americans learn what little German words they know from movies like Indiana Jones and games like Wolfenstein 3D. #;-}>And because germans are always the "bad guys" in movies or games. ^^
Dieter. #;-}>
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprockets_(
Saturday_Night_Live)
Didn't knew him, watched the few movies aviable on youtube... and it's funny! :D
But if german actors get a role in a Hollywood movie, it's most likely the role of the "bad guy" (Like Gerd Fröbe in Goldfinger).
Or something good! Either way... be alert! #;-}>But wait, U2 taught the entire English-speaking world (and then some, most likely) "Achtung," and that's not exactly negative... YAY!Yeah, but it implies that something dangerous might happen.
You're right, I guess: "Watch out! Here comes the Spider-Maaaan!" ;)
There you go. In conclusion, we've learned that the main stereotypes for Germans in the English speaking world that aren't either negative (due to WWI and WWII) or super old-fashioned (you know... beer mugs and lederhosen and so forth) involve technology and/or Kraftwerk. #;-}>And "vorsprung durch technik," too! For those fewer fans of Zooropa vs. the massive amount of fans of Achtung Baby! of course. And "Fahrvergnügen"! Oh yeah!
Be thankful your stereotypes are at least a lot more wide-ranging than those of a lot of nations on this sphere.
But I tend to think that Nazi-stereotypes are more common in the english speaking world. It's just my experience from surfing the web and chatting with people from all around the world.
Plus, if you read some of the headlines of the british yellow press concerning german affairs, there's hardly one without a nazi comparison.
Also, some friends of mine were in the USA for a student exchange and they were asked a lot of really silly questions like: "Do you still celebrate Hitler's birthday?" and similar questions.
However, they were also asked questions that aren't really helpful of getting rid of the prejudice that US-Americans tend to be very stupid (yes, that is a common stereotype...) like: "Do you know fridges?" or "How's your Kaiser?" or "Do you still ride on Elephants in Germany?" or (and that's one of my favorites): "Does your government forces you to eat sauerkraut every day?"
Of course I know that stupidity is a "global problem" and that you can be asked those kind of dumb questions in every country, but it fits in very well with the stereotype that US-Americans don't know shit about the world. ^^

Does he celebrate Censorship Day?I don't think Jack Thompson celebrates much of anything, except perhaps legal victories and drinking the blood of sacrificed video game programmers.
Shame. He should celebrate Censorship Day.
No, it did happen. He was too shocked when he got kicked up the arse and didn't react until the Pope touched him.I know he eventually got around to doing it, I was just saying that I think delaying that reaction served a dual role.
... Pope touched him? I didn't realise that was supposed to be the Pope in that scene. O_O
It was some actor as the Pope!
Which could be never. XPJust because my "60+ reviews to take #1 for a top 100 reviewer list's top 10 rate list" dream has died due to a combination of the update period growing from 7 days to 14 days (I really shoulda grabbed the bull by the horns back before Auz did that, which I thought would be more of a help than a hindrance...) and folks like Bezman, proto-X-Naut, Rune-hunter, Wegra, and X being so damned tough to exceed all of for any given time period.
Those bastards. THEY NEED TO STOP FOR A WHILE!
More than just the 15 you PMed me. And besides, the first 15 you PMed me I reviewed so damned fast, you should cut me a little slack on taking a bit longer to review the second group. #;-}>
You're slacking off too much now. XP
We're singing Bicycle Race, dammit!+
WE WERE SINGING BICYCLE FUCKING RACE, DAMMIT!Disliking Star Wars is part of Bicycle Race? O_o
Yes, because one line of the lyrics said so.
My loss and I'm not bothered. I blame The Simpsons. So you said it again to clarify that not only were you singing that, but you really meant it? #;-}>
This sounds familiar. You never saw the original 3 Star Wars movies, and the Simpsons have featured so many damned parodies of scenes and/or characters from them that it's ruined you on ever wanting to see the originals? That's so unfortunate.
Yep, so you can blame the excessive amount of Star Wars jokes for that.
Still. It's a pity you didn't see Star Wars when you were a kid, like I did back when they were first coming out. ;_;
You do not want to know what I thought about Star Wars when I was a kid.
We were only having fun. :(Me too, damnit. ;_;
I am not caring. XP
Well.... I'll get there in 2011, I expect, but... still. Coulda been there in 2008. Should be used to such things by now, but of course... each new delayed landmark is another reminder. #;-}>A few weeks ago, NG log told me that if I had deposited every day, I would have had 30,360 exp. ;_;What a kick in the balls.
I'll reach 30k EXP on 17th December 2012, which is 4 days before that supposedly end of the world. So I better not miss more than three deposits if that 21/12/2012 end of the world bullshit will happen.
I look forward to level 37. :)Only for the ICON, I hope.
That's right. It's for the icon. It's a great axe and is the old-level 21 of the redesign (well, close enough).
Shit.... another one lost to the Beast.I hope we don't have WoW to blame for that as well...I believe we have to blame WoW for that as well.

There's a chance I may not be able to get there. Why? Because of the amount of active depositers right in front of me, especially those who haven't missed a deposit in ages. Ah, that reminds me - I should find every 2004 account that has more EXP than me.
