True... are +5 jumps in just one week still all that common in the ~#200 range, though?
Okay, you got me... I was thinking more of when I came through that area. #;-}>
gfoxclock is around #180, and yeah... he's lucky to move up +1 or +2 in a week.
Still, better than averaging +0.05 up in a week, which is what this account averages, more or less. #;-}>
Still. Suppose it takes you a minute to deposit on NG every day; you already have your browser open, but you need to navigate there, check out five movies and vote on these, so I think one minute is certainly not too much.
I vote on the same movies every day to deposit, I have a little .htm on my own computer with a bookmark for it and boom, I vote on 'em fast.
Of course, I vote on about 15-20 every day for three accounts, but if I just did one account, I'd be voting on BEEBO 1 through 9 (which is what I do vote on for gfoxcook, then I vote on my fave Marc M and ZekeySpaceyLizard flashes for gfoxclock and gfox).
That's about 6 hours per year, then - so after four years, you've spent an entire day doing nothing but deposit on NG. And that's a full 24 hours, too, from midnight to midnight, without any sleep, no getting out, no eating, no toilet breaks, no doing anything else...
I once played Might and Magic VI for 32 hours straight.
Telling me that after 4 years, I've wasted 24 straight hours on NG depositing is no detterant at ALL, let me assure you. #;-}>
And of course, "it just takes X, that's not much" is not necessarily a real argument, anyway. Yeah, one minute a day might not be much, but is NG the only site you're only staying semi-active on in case you come back some day? Cruft does accumulate, and every ocean is made from individual drops (well, not literally, but you know what I mean).
If you live your life worrying about every little bit of time, you'll never enjoy yourself. That's what I say to that.
So let's just agree that depositing on NG is best if you still ENJOY doing it, then it's well worth the time. Agreed? #;-}>
Goodness, I remember a time in the early nineties when I used smileys like ":-)" and thought that ":)" (without the dash) looked weird. Things sure have changed...
Yeah, I remember people using the dash more in the 90s as well. Strangely enough, I don't really think of myself as being one of that school of emoticon-ers, because even though my custom smiley has a dash in it, it's not the usual sort of long-faced :-) type face. My toupee and goatee even out my smiley-face a whole lot. ::::nods:::
My fave simple smiley will always be =) though.
What are you whinging about? At least you'll still be an EGSC!
Unless they raise the threshold to 60001 points. >:)
I'd prefer that, actually. Then I'd get to be the other rank for awhile. Then I'd blam and save 6 entries and go up to 60,006 a few months later and shrug and say "oh well, it was fun having the even amount for so long."
Maybe then I'd move up to 60,606. And then someday to 66,666. And maybe maybe maybe... someday 36k + 36k = 72k.
but hopefully not. I'm happy being stuck in the mud.

At least they didn't do one per year on the same day like with Treehouse, I s'pose. Can't become too predictable.
Yeah, I would've started to hate the Anthology of Interests if it went one per year. Would've ended up traumatising me just like when I saw the last two Treehouse of Horrors. :( I'll blabber on about TOH now.
Heh.
I think I - V of the Treehouse of Horror are awesome. VI - IX are great (I know VI has Homer3, but the first story of that episode wasn't so great), but the older ones beat them. X and after, it started to get bad and gradually gets worse with some exceptions of some good stories (e.g. Send in the Clones).
I don't really remember which ones are which, but I do remember the old ones being best, yes.
And don't forget Apu. Apu > Abe. How could you mention Abe when there's... APU!?!? #;-}>
I think Abe's funnier, but I shouldn't forget Apu's catchphrase, "Thank you, come again!" Also, just a little reminder to everyone here:
Hmph. Well anywho.
Futurama > The Simpsons
well durrrr... Haven't we already been over this back on pages 1835-1836? I'm pretty sure at least 2 or 3 people already made the above statement or agreed with it. #;-}>
