I've seen one with that too, except this one was around 1304 ~.^ I think that it gets that high because they might get an error saying "stop trying to cheat the system, or "apparently you've already voted on this submission" or something like that... really odd though.

yea... I don't think they'll give up newgrounds. they are making a lot of money with all the advertisements... they will probably keep making video games too... and it would be cool if they made some 3D console games. sidescrollers get boring faster.

Most of the money probably comes from the game sales though, the ad money is probably just to cover the website costs. NG does have a lot of bandwidth and it would not surprize me at all if the ads didn't turn any profit. Though with the alien homonid sales and future game releases, it's not like Tom couldn't afford to keep the website, as the costs will still be just a drop in the bucket to him.

I agree that these pop-up ads must more than pay for the web hosting, but it's not a big money maker. Alien Hominid will be a money maker, but how much depends on the contracts... as with most of Capitalism, everyone grabs a piece of the profit and in some cases the guys who spent months working on something makes less than ANY of the middlemen who advertise it, deliver it, or sell it.
