I have an Elliptical Trainer. And I think they are very useful.
I've had it for about a year, and since I've got it and used it (I've not been totally devoted, but recently I've done it everyday, cept today as its broken :( ). And since I got it last August, I've gone from 16 stone (224 pounds) to 12 stone (168 pounds). And I'm trying to lose another stone so I can be 11.

I just hope I can fix my trainer, since I'm a very shy person and going to the gym isn't really my cup of tea.

I still can't belive that GeneralMBison can run as fast as a cheetah lol I think he meant like 7 mets or something not MPH, because if you can run 70-75 MPH then you don't need a car EVER! You can run faster that most cars are allowed on most streets lol.

There is no way you could possibly run 70-75 mph. You are not an X-man or a member of the Fantastic Four. The fastest man on earth can only hit just under 20mph. I can't think what measurement of speed you're reading, because none of them fit. (The closest is 70 fps, which is feet per second, but in theory, you shouldn't be close to 70 fps.)

Whoops! My bad on the mph thing. It's about less than 45 fps. Sorry to cause a major attack on the gym.

Time to do my daily run around the park near my house. I run about 1 or 2 miles. The park is huge! 1 square mile or 1 block wide. http://search.travel...x=302&map.y=126

Bleck running..I prefer to walk, I tried to do a 2.5 K race during the spring and I nearly died it was funny, but hey I did come in SECOND to LAST lol. AHHH! Bullshit, I just checked they're site and says I'm dead last, when I checked it a few days after the race it said I was second to last, bastards lol. It sucks because I have an anxiety disorder and when I try to push myself to hard it gets harder for me to breath and stuff :(

Well i think most protein drinks and bars are all pretty good and its more a matter of personal preferance, saying that i'd say ask people who work at your gym...

I wouldn't bother, as since you're only 14 (if your profile is correct) then your body isn't ready for that sort of high levels of protein. You should just continue to eat a balanced diet, maybe increase slightly your intake of carbs and maybe milk also. When you pass 18-20, I'd start on the Protein big time, so then you can reap the benefit properly.

Couldnt say it better myself. I am only 15 and I workout alot but not to get bulky I do it to stay fit. Even if you try at 14 you cant get a bodybuilders body cause you dont have enough testosteroine. when you get to 16 ,17 and 18 then worry about protein shakes.

Salad (small) or some sort of vegetable (usually carrots)
Soda (i know its not great but bleh)

Great idea Rude.
People post your diets!

Mine's very crap and not healthly. But I don't get hungry doing it.

Breakfast:
Cup of tea,
Bowl of cereal (Usually Crunchy Nut) No sugar. Semi skinned milk.

Dinner:
I don't really have dinner. But it'll be a cheese sandwich on brown bread.
On weedends I'll treat myself to a sauage sandwich.

Tea:
A pizza,
Garlica bread,
Curry,
Pasta.

I don't eat much, but I eat enough. If I do get hungry and have an apple, banana or a glass of milk.

For sixpack u need to work on defining the lower, upper and love handles. Use any ab machine as normal crunches and most sit-ups dont work. For chest building. Lots of lifting and lots of chest flys, supposing you know how to do them. They are very effective.

Okay, here's mine (slight variations on the theme may apply.)

Breakfast: 1 Cup of Tea, maybe a bowl of Oat-based cereal.

Lunch: Sandwiches (cheese and ham.) Or a cooked meal, depending on work shift. (Usually involves meat & two veg. Follwed by a helping of ice cream.)

Dinner: Cooked meal or Sandwiches (again, dependant on work shift. I'll eat sandwiches out of vending machine, with a can of sprite, a youhurt and a packet of crisps (chips) and maybe a chocolate bar.)

Occasionally, I do snack between meals (Hot chicken from the Food-to-Go counter at work. grat little protien hit.)

Here's mine:

Breakfast- I usually dont eat breakfast and I know it is bad for you but if anything I have Special K with Berries.

Lunch- I love fruits so lots of fruits and usually a sandwich with chicken and lettuce.

Dinner- I will have lots of healthy stuff like steak, chicken, meats, fish, omlets, turkey etc.

Drinks- I drink diet pop just cause my mom drank it and i have been drinkin it since i was 6. I like to get in at least 2-3 gallons of water in a day. It helps flush my body out.

Answer to Coop83!

Let me see your situation; by more definition I assume you want to gain mass and strength.
First of all, I would like to know for how long have you been training, and how old are you? To achieve your goal Coop83, 3 times a week would be a minimum. If you could increase it to 3-4 times a week, it would be splendid! Why, because my being sure you’ll come 3 times at least, not 2, I could make you work specific part on your body so you would do a Full Body work in 2 or 3 days of training. And when you’d come 4 times, you then will have work out every muscle twice within 7days witch is perfect!

Here are two options,

The First One (the one I will use right now) will be me giving you tips, and upgrading you’re actual work out.

Second Option, would be me making you a total new program from scratch.
I’ll let you decide if you want something totally new, or you want to stick to your actual routine.

So here it goes... at your place I would do 10 min of bike and 20 min of running to start with. Then I would group Chest, Back and triceps one day and Legs, Biceps and Shoulders the other one. Naturally since you’ll have more time in front you, increase (add) the number of movement your doing so it become more specific for each muscle. Increase the your number of Reps and decrease your number of set... a Good combination would be 4 set of 8 reps (Excellent number to build up Mass and Strength at the same time, in some occasion you could do a 5th set to failure or a 5th set of 6 reps) for the Chest and Back, 4 set of 10 reps for the biceps, shoulder and triceps and 4 set of 12 reps (Now the legs, the strongest muscle in your body, not only you’ll gain more mass and strength, but you’ll see your endurance enhance with this) for your legs.

This will be a good thing to start with, if need be I could give you tips on different movement to build up mass for each muscle group.
If you want me to point some exercises to add to your actual routine, please let me know.

Snowy_Beast
I look forward to hear some news from you.

P.S. English isn’t my first language, so I apologise for my lack of knowledge there; I hope you could understand me well.

My Diet

Breakfast - None. Unless I have nothing scheduled in the morning, which is about twice a week. Then I'll have a bowl of cereal with 1% milk. I enjoy cereals high in sugar. But it's not healthy.

Lunch - Turkey Sandwich. Plain turkey on toast. Either that or a hoagie with cheese, ham, salami, peporoni. Notice there are no vegatables in my diet. I know thats bad. But I just can't enjoy them. I just dont like them. I eat corn and potatoes though. No greens. I'm a pretty picky eater.

Dinner - Whatever my mom makes. Usually a meat (chicken, beef, steak, pork), with a vegtable (peas, asparigus, broccoli) all in which i don't eat. She makes heats up some corn for me to have. I drink soda.

- After reading over this I realized that my diet is very unhealthy. I rarely have any fruit even though i do enjoy most of them. And no greens. I am willing to try new foods and bite the bullet to eat some greens. I'm sure i'll get use to them. I eat what tastes good, healthy or not.

Hey SnowyBeast, i'm not doubting what the guy said but i was wondering if you agree with all of this... I'm trying to get rid of the fat around my stomach (theres not that much) and work on my abs... I bike, run, and swim daily and well i started doing what was said below... You got any other advice?

If you wanna work your abs I suggest working all parts of and not just doing sit-ups. Work the lower by doing doing stretches with your legs over your head and hold the stretch, for your upper abs use crunches sit-ups and all ab machines and for lovehandles do stretches where you turn your waist alot to each side and do situps o the side of your body focussing the obliques.
