A couple suggestions for the PM system:
Leave the e-mail adresses in the profiles
Suppose the user I want to contact barely logs into NG anymore, and the only way I can contact him is through his/her e-mail adress! I also find this handy whenever I want to add someone to MSN or Gtalk.
Enable attachments
Just like the BBS, I think you should be able to send pictures in your private messages.

Also where it has the Accoutn options button, have "You have [x] new PMs" there so I can see quickly.
And also some kind of method of "starring" or tagging PMs that might be important to you later, y'know, like you can do with emails.

Ah shit, how could I forget. An outbox or "sent PMs" would be nice, so I can make sure I haven't failed my html, or said something wrong that needs correcting, etc.

E-mail notification would also be nice, if you tend to leave NG for days at a time. :S
I think a "pm this user option" in your profile near the users e-mail link would look good.
This may sound strange, but please listen. My idea is that, instead of being able to delete topics right away, mods can only flag posts for deletion, meaning that they do not get deleted until leaving the first or even second page, but only locked. Why do I ask this? Because other forums work this way, and I was surprised to see posts that I had made suddenly disappear, so I figured that I had forgotten to hit "Post It!" or something. So I post again, trying to get the post to go through. Then, next thing I know, I'm banned for 2 and a half days for reposting the same topic twice. :( That ban just ended for me.
So, what I'm saying, is either lock topics so users can see that their topic was crap before thinking their post just disappeared, or notify the user (not by email, I rarely check mine, plus it's too short-notice anyway) that their post has been deleted. I really don't like being banned because I thought there was a server error or something.
show amount of submissions you blew the whistle on that counted or not
When viewing your pms, a 'next page' button is needed, in order to see your older pms. As the page only supports 100 pms. Meaning that there's no way to see pms older than the last 100 you've recieved, other than deleting some of your newer ones.
I posted this in the news thread, but I'll repost it here. I think the new layout is too bulky. The inbox and logout buttons should be shrunk, and a feature should be added to notify you if you have unread messages.
Like so:

I think that's in progress, they're just finding a way to do it without raping the servers.

Don't they already have it in the account menu page? Couldn't they just add that feature to the header?
The "Post Icon" icons in the PM system? I'd like to send a lot of angry PMs.
once again i shall post this suggestion.
a search option for the obituaries.
this will be nice, as it will allow users to look up titles and artists of cartoons they have seen, but have been deleted from newgrounds. the search option could search artist, title, artist comments, and user reviews.

I second that.
Don't know if this has been suggested but the ability to display your MSN Messenger account.
Not everyone has AIM.
well i don't know about you but when i was a noob it was extremly hard to tell if someone was a mod or not, you pretty much have to memorize names if you wan't to know but its hard when your a noob, poisibly have something like this...
exept alot better
When you sign in from a 404 page, the server should bring you to the main portal page or something, not back to the 404 page.
When people mark abusive reviews as helpful, they should lose whistle points, when that review gets deleted. You lose points for marking a legitimate review as abusive. So why not vice-versa?
That way people will think before they mark a review as helpful. As a result abusive reviews will recieve less helpful marks and the people who flagged them will lose flag power.
Flag power is something someone obviously doesn't deserve, if they find an abusive review to be helpful...

Thats a bad idea.
People have diferent opinions then others. But if something is abusive its obviouse.

Still doesn't mean abusive reviews should be marked as helpful, whether someone agrees or not. Since clearly the review isn't helpful...
If the review wasn't abusive then there'd be no punishment.
but it wouldnt make a difference if it was marked helpful.
There should be something that you can see which reviews are deleted in order by date or rate. And which flash was deleted where you leave a review.
i have an idea, if you go to some1s profile and look at there reviews once you mark it as abusive it brings you to all the reviews for that flash i find that anoying if the user has tons of abusive reviews

Yeah this should definitely be done. i hate it too
there needs to be buttons in order to view all movies with users who have it on their favorites. there currently isn't any (need at least 51 movies in order to reach this conflict, which is probably why it hasn't been fixed :P)
please see this thread for a little more detail.
thanks!
gimme a facial and make me a cupcake, braj.
perhaps each week, animators could have the chance to animate like a 30 second intro for the website, so when you first come to the Newgrounds homepage you have the option of watching the intro or just going straight to the homepage.
Also, it would be nice to have the Newgrounds magazine more integrated with Newgrounds, that way more users visit it, and less topics will be made about when the next episode of some cartoon or game will be made.
I dropped out in the third grade, and spent all my time at the arcade.

It's not up to you. It's up to an admin.
This thread is for posting ideas to improve Newgrounds, not to discuss them. A seperate discussion thread was made for that purpose.

I'd like to be able to respond to the reviews for my submissions before they pass, like you used to be able to. Due to the fact that now it links to the review page rather than a seperate responding page, I can't see the reviews until it passes. And I get the usual message you get when trying to read an under judgement submission's reviews -
"Thanks for attempting to read the reviews for this submission!
The submission these reviews belong to is still "Under Judgment."
You will have to wait until it has passed judgment before you can access the reviews."
The fact that now you have to wait for the submission to pass to read the reviews means that users who get their movies blammed won't be able to read the reviews that their submission got at all. Unless they realise that they can check the obituaries. Which a large number won't...
