Hey guys. So, whenever I open FL 11, I can't get it to play anything with sound. I don't have any other tabs open. I've tried restarting my computer, turning my speakers off and then on again, using headphones, and everything else I thought of. The weird thing is that FL 10 works fine, but FL 11 doesn't. Does anyone know why it's doing this?

Fl Studio 9 won't save. Upgrade to 11.1.1 and it still won't save my projects. I moved FL 9 from my old PC to my new one and that's when this crap started.
Please help me.

does it not save projects like it's in demo mode or is there additional error messages?
if it's stuck in demo mode, uninstall FL with the install wizard (don't just delete the folder in program files), request a new regkey on the image line website (in "my account"), reinstall and run the regkey.

Idk what it was, but on the new 11.1.1 version I was able to fix the problem and then it only didn't work with one .flp file. I fixed that by creating a second version of the file and redirecting an incorrectly placed sample in the project.
So, thanks for the feedback. Got it working now.

Have you checked your ASIO devices to ensure that your primary audio device is selected?

Hmm...no. I'll try that ASAP. Thanks a lot, man! ;D

Okay, quick question: I have another OS problem on the computer I'm using (AGAIN! Windows pushed a major update to my computer this afternoon and buggered my computer up, to say the least). If push comes to shove and I need an OS change, I have one of three options:
1) Stick with Windows 8.
2) Downgrade to Windows 7.
3) Upgrade to Windows 10 (beta).
I'm aware some things may not work on Windows 10, but has anyone tried Windows 10? Have anyone of you ever run FL Studio on Windows 10? How does it run?

Yeah Windows 8 truly a piece of work isn't it? Every now and then I get stupid pop ups telling me to "tap here" when my PC is not even a touch screen... >.<
Mainstream updates for Windows 7 stopped just this year but extended support for it will carry on till 2020. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7
Windows 10 will still take a while to release this year so if you're in the middle of anything important I'd stick with whatever OS is most convenient to you.
Once Windows 10 is out however, FL Studio should be compatible with it otherwise they will have to release a patch.
I haven't posted in a while, but my old problem came back... In FL 11 Producer Edition, for some reason on the mixer, I can only use the first slot after 'Master', and then I can't link any more presets to the mixer. This is very bad, because I really need the mixer for a few things in this song. Thanks if you can help :)

It looks like it's just scaled down too far. The one you have selected is one of the Send channels, which Channels/Generators can't route to for reasons. The first one after Master is an Insert - you can scroll through them with the slider at the top, and the Send channels will remain visible because idunnolol. You can resize the mixer window by dragging on the left or right.

also click on the little arrow on at the top left to open the mixer options, go to view and deselect "Wide Bars" - makes everything nice and compact!

In Harmor, how can I make a Resynth VOX?
Hi. I have weird problem... Okay, firstly I am on my laptop. I don't have this problem on my main computer. Anyway it's very annoing and I don't have a clue why this happen. It has been working quite well before.. So... The problem is that when I'm playing my track and choose/browse ANY instrument window, it stops playing! When I click any other window, it continues...
What the heck is that all about!?
Oh, Let's take back what I said about that happening ANY instrument. It appears to be happening when I browse any VSTplugin window... (Sylenth1 in my case) So Something wrong with VST's?
At 4/2/15 12:57 AM, Buddycarder wrote: In Harmor, how can I make a Resynth VOX?
You can load up a sample in the menu found using the downwards triangle button found when the Img tab is selected: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46645289/harmorresynth.jpg (Sorry that it's in polar coordinates, I got bored and I shopped the pixels) If you click around on the image that it generates you can scrub for the start time that you want, then alter the envelope (or whatever) for the Image Fine Speed (or just automate it) to achieve different loop effects. ex: this and its envelope. Different timbres and other settings from the rest of Harmor still apply to whatever it throws up - a good starting point is the Resynthesis preset under the Template section.
Oh I solved it myself what I asked before! In the audio settings, there was tick in "Auto close device" -section It actually stops playing whenever I don't have FL Studio open on top. So, Solved! :)

wait what? for as long as i remember that option only frees up the audio device when FL isnt the active window. kinda wacky that it solved your problem!
AutoClose device + Bridged Mode probably

Also, does anybody else have errors pop up on start if Steam is running? I get "Couldn't find SteamEdition.rtf" when I launch FL Studio, but only if the Steam client is running.
File>Export>Zipped Loop Package
basically just send that to your friend and he'll get any files that you used. it just packages everything up.
obviously when your friend gets it he just extracts it.
EDIT: i don't know your steam problem. i would suggest not opening fl from steam (if you're doing that).

I need to know how to switch between various gross beat cycles in a single pattern.
Like I want one half to do this & the second to do that.
Only way I figured out on my own is to use record everything- where you record how you switch between gross beat presets & it imprints onto the pattern.
I'd like to find more customisation friendly solution for this.
Hello thar ;)
At 4/25/15 07:12 AM, Deshiel wrote: I need to know how to switch between various gross beat cycles in a single pattern.
if you only need to do one particular switch, you could just make a new pattern that has the first half of pattern A and the second half of pattern B. if you run out of patterns, make a new instance of gross beat :v
(this is why i use effectrix instead, it does the same stuff and more but doesn't have to "think ahead" for each pattern :P)
Hey guys,
I just posted my new tutorial for FL Studio 12 on the forums in a different section a few hours ago, and Step seemed to like it, so I thought it might be useful to someone:
FL Studio 12 COMPLETE Basic Tutorial
I'd really like to see what you guys think, thanks.
I have more of a technical question. When I ran the Installer, before the spot where I had options about how I wanted the plugins to be organized, the installer told me that it couldn't install _ amount of things. Then when the program is finished installing, I am unable to open FL 12. I have been waiting for 10-15 minutes after opening it and nothing yet. I will restart my computer to see if that fixes it, but since it most likely won't, anyone know why this is happening?
Sorry for being a pain about that for anyone who might've thought for a second. I restarted my computer, and, well, nothing. But I deleted the whole program off of my computer and re-downloaded it, so all is well. But 12 looks way confusing compared to 11... Time to use some guides.
Heyoo it's me that guy who keeps posting impatiently! :o
I have a few pretty noob-ish questions.
The first being: How can I safely get the free parts of plugins and install them? I am new to this, so please keep it simple. I am trying to install NI Kontakt 5 (free ver).
And the second is: Could anyone explain how to use gross beat? I have seen it before and tried to use it, but I got a bit lost.
