Oh my. I got quite embarassing problem! I think this shouldn't be a hard problem but I'm out of ideas! So, my problem is that one of my Poizone instruments volume is slowly fading out, but I can't understand why!

I have checked ALL possible ways, which can affect this, like mixer volume, channel volume, note velocities, all kind of plugins that I use, like free filter cut off. Also nothing changes when I watch the interface of this instrument in poizone.. I don't get it! What else this could affect!?

Also, notes continue playing. They don't end when it's fading, so it's not about reverb or something.

Oh my god... Oh forget my question :D It was LFO rate! The amount was SO little, so it lasts really long and the fade in again. Problem solved.

I have another pretty simple question. I have a new Effects plugin (just the .dll file). It's CMT Bitcrusher, and it just came with the .dll file. I put it into Plugins<Fruity<Effects and gave it its own folder, named after the file (CMT_Bitcrusher_2). I used the mixer in FL Studio to import it (More, Fast Scan) and it appeared. However, when I try to put it into the mixer, it says:

Sorry, this plugin cannot be found.
If it has to be registered, make sure it has been registered properly.

Or something like that. Help?

It is. It already appeared when I performed a fast scan. But it can't be added.

Try putting the .dll file in the VstPlugins folder that FL Studio creates in Program Files on your hard disk by default. That's the main folder for FL Studio to load 3rd party plugins from.

FL checks if there's a license code for any plugin in those directories, and since it's never gonna find one for a third-party plugin it's generating that error.

you should try putting it in C:/Program Files (x86)/Vstplugins, which FL is a directory FL makes when you install it (if it wasn't already there).

Putting it in the VstPlugins folder worked! I'll have to remember that. Thanks people!

Where can I find the button that makes dubstep bass? I've looked all over FL Studio and only managed to find a few synths with lots of knobs but no dubstep bass button.

No, that's the button that prints 'urgay' on the screen. I'm looking for the dubstep bass button.

Essentially all I'm doing is pitch shifting a Hard Saw Bass. And although it gives of a general sound of a drop, I'm looking into other ways of mixing dubstep. I've heard of a Modulated Bass, is there anyone who can help me achieve this effect?

inb4 yes, FL is my DAW, otherwise I wouldn't be here.

tbh this is more of a general sound design question rather than FL specific. try some googling, there are lots of tutorials that are both general and FL related

Do you know SeamlessR?
He create a lot of dubstep tutorials, using exclusively Fruity, Sytrus and Harmor... might be a good starting point.

If you're looking to create a wubwubthingie, a basic recipe could be:
-A saw at low octave,
-Triangle shaped LFO modulating a lowpass filter (possibly more parameters)
-Automate or change the rate of the lfo with temposynced ratio (1/4, 1/8, 1/12,1/16)
Add a good amount of distortion, and effects to your liking and voilà.

This can be done in thirteen seconds within 3xosc or WASP (Image line has a thing for controversial names, isn't it?)
But you'll get better result if you invest some time understanding the basics of sytrus and harmor.

What's wrong with this? Pretty good synths considering you made them with 3xOsc only.

tbh i'm not sure if it's actually any better than just using automation. i guess it's slightly easier to adjust? :v

Still, this is something i would have liked to know at the time of FL3.

Also, i always had the impression that automation curves (in the playlist) somehow lack detail, as if they were smoothed out a little, especially for fast sequences.
So I've been using fruity enveloppe controller to trigger parameters with midi notes, and i can mimic sytrus or massive performers slightly better imho.

you know about the "smooth" option in a lot of automation parameters in the fl synths? In sytrus for example it's right below the xy field. check it off and you can go as steep and clicky as you want with your automation and the parameters will follow as snappy as it gets!

i don't know about other synths but i think the smooth option on sytrus only affects changes made with the x/y modulator.

usually if i want precision (e.g. patch/bank switches) or exact steps i use automation events rather than automation clips.

Quick question about gross beat: I want to use repeating effect in ALL other instruments, except the kick and bassline.

So, instead of adding this effect one by one in all instruments, I want to insert gross beat in master, but ignore couple inserts, which doesn't get affected. Is that possible?

Put Gross Beat on a seperate mixer channel (not the master bus) and route every instrument, except for the bass and kick, to that channel. Do this by highlighting each instrument's mixer channel (has to be done one by one unfortunately), then right-click the arrow button beneath the volume fader of the Gross Beat channel and select 'Route to this track only'.

Because FL Studio plays all sequences from left to right. Just like every other DAW (not counting trackers).
