I have all my sample packs and flp. files on an external hard drive and I sometimes take it out of my PCwhen I need it for my laptop. However, when I plug it in the PC, it either becomes the F:/ drive or the G:/ drive. This is really annoying because this means that 50% of the time FL Studio can't find the sample packs or the projects and I have to change the folder. Is there any way to set this to default or something?

you could manually add both directories to the browser (options > file settings) then it will search for both locations before deciding they don't exist - i think this would increase load times though but i'm not sure

by "both directories" i mean F:/yourstuff and G:/yourstuff, if that wasn't clear :v

For some reason, the Piano Roll's pitches are all mixed up. For instance, if I press one of the C's on there, it sounds more like one of the E's. Can you help me with this? Thanks.

Hello, you might have changed the root note in the instrument channel, right clicking on the piano keyboard in the channel setting changes root note.

also make sure you haven't accidentally changed the master pitch (it's a slider in the top toolbars next to master volume). if you're playing a sample that isn't in C then you'll need to do what daru was saying.

actually there are a whole bunch of things that might cause this to happen, but check master pitch and change the root note first, and if that doesnt help maybe we can sort it out.

This has not happened with any of my projects.... but one, which has sparse instrumentation and only uses the Fruity Soundfont Player, like most of my other pieces.

I can't create new patterns on it, and when I try to do so by cloning, it goes all haywire, it replaces the Pattern 1 with some random number, and I cannot display more than one pattern on the step sequencer, I can't move from left to right, and any attempt at doing so just doesn't work. Help please?

(And before anyone asks if this is a bug associated with Windows 10, none of my other projects do this. Just the one.)

if you make the file in a way that FL11 can theoretically understand, theoretically it should work - your collab partber just needs to ignore the warning popup. alternatively, you can export project bones, zip the resulting project folder up and send that.

sounds like a corrupted .flp file :(
see if you can still export your scores from the piano roll and save your mixer tracks as presets, you probably need to rebuild the project

try sylenth, z3ta or crystal - the latter is freeware and is pretty unique sounding. unfortunately "best" and "easy to play around with" might not always be compatible concepts :P

also try layering a bunch of simpler synths/samples to get the tone you want. or layer a bunch of complicated vsts. whatevs!

Hiya. I have a link and question: What the hell is this annoying whoosing noise? It occurs all the time in some of my projects. Nothing plays, everything is stopped and should be fine, but still this happen... This happens only on my laptop, so there isn't nothing wrong with projects itself. It's the laptop. I use also Nuforce uDAC3 to improve the sound quality, but this does not seem to cause it.

Sorry for the double post, but wtf is wrong with this? O_o The are are still these noises when I render the track to mp3? How's that possible? It seems the problem isn't only in FL Studio.

And no, I don't use demo plugins or something. I know they can make this kind of sound, just because of that you can't use them on your songs. I have excactly the same plugins and files on main main computer and thee is no problem.

Well, I can't be shure what's the problem. I just wanted to know if someone have knowledge about this. Not all project project do this. It's just weird the problem occurs out of the FL Studio. Why it render sound in mp3 that doesn't even exist in the program. It's absurd.

Is there an option in FL Studio that prevents aliasing for a single channel? I actually noticed that some aliasing occurs in 3xOsc, something I never noticed before, and I would like to know if there's a way to get rid of it.

Edit: derp, I just found out that FL Studio only applies anti-aliasing to 3xOsc when rendering to reduce CPU load. Still, might come in handy for other plug-ins that aren't anti-aliased.

I just installed Fl studio 9 but it won't open. When i try to open it, it says that there is a problem witg FlEngine.dll. I already re-installed it, but it doesn't seem to be working.

What can i do? Should i download the FlEngine from internet? Where can i find it?

if you have a legit copy of FL then you can dl the latest version from the image-line site. otherwise you'll just need to pirate a better cracked copy, yarrrrrrrrrrrrr

hey guys i want to use sidechain compression in patcher. I have got two sounds one with alot of reverb on that i want to be sidechained by the other how exactly do i do this so that the input options show up in the limiter? I can do it outside of patcher but i want to use patcher for this :)

Piano roll : View > Black note labels
Or if it's enabled, labels aren't there when you zoom out. It's normal.

How do I make the Requiem Choir FX Volume slider in Kontakt be kept at max volume? Whenever I start placing notes in the piano roll of the corresponding midi out for that kontakt instrument, the volume slide reset to 0.0 and the overall sample sounds really low, you can barely hear it without maxing that volume slider. Like I have no idea how to fix this. This happens for all File Type NKI loaded instruments, instead of them being Library Found through that button at the top left of Kontakt.

@Grandvision : Try this, in Kontakt, go to Instrument Options>Controller> Untick Accept standard controllers for Volume and Pan
Otherwise it will reset to its default value (0 or -6db)
You have to do this every time you create an instrument (i guess)

Thanks but all it does is reset it to mute, and now it goes back to mute whenever I play those samples in the piano roll.

In harmor there is a preset called "cubist"

in this preset what makes it so that when you play more than one key, it stays as an arp?

the arpegiator isnt turned on, monophonic isnt enabled, legato isnt enabled

as far as I can tell if you pressed 2 or more notes simultaneously, they should both play rather that going into arp mode
