Psychic type offense is mediocre. Alakazam is so frail anything OHKOs it. Not losing 10% for attacking doesn't make a huge difference. Scizor and Tyranitar as well as many Scarfed Pokemon will still give it nightmares.

Depends on what new special attacks it gets. If it gets a new Special Fighting move, fuck TTar. If it gets a Special Fire move, same for Scizor. But the former is more likely than the latter.

The games are region-locked. Meaning if you don't have a Japanese DS, you can't play a Japanese game card.

Where'd you hear this? From what I know, only the DSi console is region-locked; regular DS Game Cards with or without DSi enhancement should play fine otherwise.
Example from this article.

As the DSi is not region free, a non-Japanese DSi won't be able run the game at all whereas a regular DS or DS Lite has no problem running the game at all, but obviously won't have the QR function due to the hardware lacking a camera or two.

Black and White are compatible with normal DSes, or DSis. No need for a 3DS just for this game.

Can you say "metagame shift"? I'm looking forward to what state competitive battling is going to be in now that all this is here.

Oh yeah, and it's not all of them in case people still haven't noticed, but it's still a hell of a lot of them. And while some are most likely going to cause some sort of strategical revolution, some of them deserve a "lolwut".

Sorry, couldn't resist saying that for some reason. :P

But it's still true. This might be the biggest metagame shift yet.

I just have one bone to pick right now, though...........there's no info on whether Mamanbou is a Luvdisc evo yet...........if it isn't, then that was a giant fucking tease.

I'd also hope that the snowflake mon is a Glalie evo, as like the above having a similar movepool to Luvdisc, this thing has a similar movepool to Glalie (with some interesting perks).

Also, to agree with both Tetros & Aci6, this gen's mons, for the most part, are of excellent quality. At the same time, though, they're becoming...........a tad more abstract....in some cases.

What I'm questioning is whether the Dream World and Global Link can be accessed via a normal DS; if it'd DSi-only, I think I'm going to shoot myself.

Yeah, I just went on serebii again, and I read the blurb Joe left...........wtf? Nintendo never had this problem before. Is this Nintendo's way of getting back for that leak during last gen? (Y'know, the one that was actually Pokexperto's fault?)

I think you mean.... THE COUNTRY OF THE UNITED STATES, THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE, PLANET EARTH, THE HEAVENS ABOVE, THE GALAXIES, THE CRAB NEBULAS, THE UNIVERSE ITSELF....

Lololololol.

I'd also hope that the snowflake mon is a Glalie evo, as like the above having a similar movepool to Luvdisc, this thing has a similar movepool to Glalie (with some interesting perks).
Glalie, doesn't that already have an evolution, or am I thinking of something else?

Froslass is just an alt. Snorunt evo; Glalie itself doesn't have one.

Froslass has several things in its favor; Glalie has shit. An evo would help immensely.

Even if it's legit...lol, oh silly people, thinking you can stop ANYTHING on the internet. I remember when all the manga hosting sites were threatened into closing shop, and yet I still have no problem finding and reading my favorite manga every week...

I'd like to think Nintendo isn't that hilariously naive, but...we'll see. Heh.

They aren't even that naive anyways, they're a giant corporation, and they mean business. And fun. Mostly fun.

I wouldn't be so jocund about this.
This recent legal action is oddly reminiscent of the Church of Scientology's attacks on its critics, which in case you haven't noticed means something else is going on here. They're likely trying to silence us as retaliation for the ROM hitting the Internet, or worse.

Did try the Pokemon White game and I must say, it was great. follwed some tips through some "walkthrough" videos in YouTube and stuff. The intro is oh-so long and I can't believe the story goes at the start that you will receive your Pokemon early, literally a gift unlike the other Pokemon games that you will go to your Professor to claim your starter Pokemon. 5/5 is my rating. Plus, Wotter's 3rd evolution is still Water, no 2nd type, at all.

Anyway, I was going to download White, But I just thought No. Firstly Its Japenese, and there are no half-decent walkthroughs avalble. Secondly, I dont wanta ruin the game so early, and Id much prefer to play it on a DS, proper experiance. Also every DS emulated game I've played has been about 0.75% slower then normal, and I get really agitated with Slow games.

But Im going to go with the fire starter, Its got pretty good stats, and looks better then the water thing. Again, the grass looks awesome but thats the main choicethis time, so fire for me.

No, but it does cause paralysis, which lowers speed and makes it much harder to attack

it can be cured with a full heal or a paralize heal, and a few kinds of berrys,

, and frankly is almost as annoying as CONFUSION.

now thats a big stretch

zctually i belive in black and white you can, there are points in which you can spend them as you earn them durring battle, the points can get you items to use durring battles, such as full heals

I can Imagine that getting Abused

Attack
Endure
Heal
Attack
Endure
Heal
...

Although that can happen now, its only like 50% Health back.

And revies :(

...that sounds like a terrible gimmick to put into effect while battling other people. That's effectively ruining the tactic of predicting/forcing switches and crippling the other team with statuses and stat drops if they can just easily cure it by spraying some medicine on their team. Who needs Toxic or Will-o-Wisp now? It sounds like wall breaking just got a hell of a lot tougher.

Not to mention the annoyance of having something you don't have a suitable counter for wreck your team, only for it to be brought right back out after you painstakingly KO it due to a Revive. Some Pokemon wouldn't even need moves to boost their own stats for a sweep, or could abuse those low-PP-high-power moves without having to worry about managing how many shots they have left.

If it's seriously in the game, I hope there's an option to disable it or something. I'm not trying to be one of those "stop having fun" guys, but allowing item use against human opponents is a bit, for lack of a better word, broken (controversial? stupid? Whatever suits you).

Then again, I suppose you could have an Embargo user or something. How many people even know about that move anyway?

QFT. This would pretty much single-handedly ruin battling in anything other than a competitive environment where such things would be banned, mostly likely.

I'd argue that it's worse. With Paralysis, Pokemon like Gyarados, Weavile, or Sceptile are completely crippled.

Thunder Wave hitting Ground doesn't make sense flavor-wise, nor does it bring any balance at all.

Let's say you have a material that is not affected by electricity at all, like rubber. If you shock it with electricity, nothing happens to it, but why would an altered pulse made of the same element (electricity) all of a sudden affect it? It just doesn't make any sense at all.

Thunder Wave has always been the premier paralyzing move due to perfect accuracy. It is also notable for its extremely wide distribution, where the only con really, is that a whole type is immune. Now with that con out, Thunder Wave became the gayest move in the game. There is absolutely no reason to run Stun Spore now. The accuracy boost in Glare in 5th generation is useless too, because why use that when you get perfect Thunder Wave.

GameFreak would contradict itself if the abilities Volt Absorb or Motor Drive continue to grant immunity to Thunder Wave.

Being able to use bag items during battles is going to mess up battles big time. Competitive rules will most likely forbid the use of them, but when two friends are battling amongst each other, they'll just get frustrated battling until they agree not to use them.
