Wow. That sucks. So not only are you paying for bits and pieces of hardware you're hardly ever going to use, the few positives, like (what I thought) WPA compatibility is only for DSi games. It's Nintendo all over isn't it...

I beg to differ. Back before Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out, a bunch of Sonic fans (as reported by Spax3, whom I can no longer track down) lobbied Nintendo to allow Ryan Drummond to return as Sonic the Hedgehog. They actually listened, but SEGA didn't, as you can hear in the game.

Well, I'd imagine it does since it still runs DS games, which use them. And I'd assume that all the DSiWare would as well. I can't really see Nintendo changing that policy anytime soon, they've dug themselves a hole, and aren't climbing out any time soon.

I don't think I'll ever be able to find a shiny pokemon, the dude from the shiny pidgey incident's lucky enough to encounter one...

To make it wore, even Ash has a shiny Noctowel and that idiot abuses flying pokemon (what he did to pidgeotto in the Fushia gym episode is inexcusable, you use gust not whirlwind!)

Some legendaries are disappointingly terrible. Articuno, Entei, Regigigas, Regice, and Uxie come to mind.

Articuno came through for me in tight situations, Moltres on other hand...

Moltres is okay. It's bulky enough to stall, especially since it has Will-o-Wisp to cripple physical attackers, and Roost to heal. Its Flamethrowers or Overheats do hurt a lot.

The legendary I dislike most is Uxie. I know that it's Sp. Def and Def is high, but it's Attack and Sp. Atk
suck.

That's why you use it as a supporting Pokemon. Use things like Toxic or Thunder Wave, lay Stealth Rock, set Reflect or Light Screen, etc. But Uxie isn't very great for that.

Alright guys, while I'm waiting on my Shiny Magikarp (a kind member indeed caught one for me, but has yet to supply me with a friend code of any sorts), I'm going to ask for a bit of help.

Basically, being the big dickbag I am, I'm making my party all the pseudo-legendaries, and an Aggron. At the moment, they are all at their 2nd form (that is, first evolution) so they aren't really on my list of things to get proper movesets for.

For future reference, however, I'd love for one of you (if not multiple of you) to help me determine what attacks my Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp, and Aggron will have.

I'd also like an opinion on whether or not I should stick with Aggron.

Aggron is terrible. Strong attackers laugh at his large defense with Earthquake, or Brick Break.

Response to Tanooki_John's Pro-pokemon club 2009-08-02 02:45:18

I'm curious... do you guys agree with Smogon's view that Garchomp be classed as Uber? Personally, I don't have a huge problem with it unless it's wielding a Choice Scarf. Having been at the receiving end of that combo before and coming off worse, I know it has some serious power behind it.

Garchomp's base 102 speed is really annoying. Garchomp always has an answer for everything. Life Orb variants help his decent Special Attack to attack Steel walls like Bronzong. Nothing is a safe switch in on this guy. If you need to kill him, it's to be done by revenge killing, with faster and strong enough Pokemon using Life Orb or other Choice items, or really powerful Pokemon using priority moves like Mamoswine using Ice Shard.
Choice Scarf is what makes Garchomp great in Ubers, as a great revenge killer. Life Orb is what made him too good for OU, since nothing is a safe switch-in.

Is there even a Pokemon that is of the Fighting/Ground type? Where did you grab that one from, Aci6?

I think what he ment was that if the opponent switcher to a fighting or ground type, then you would switch to a flying type for obvious reasons.

What is the Flying type gonna do? Use Drill Peck against the Steel/Rock? Honestly the only Flying type that will make Aggron run is Staraptor, for Close Combat.

Yeah, I know, Andy. I don't normally call people by their real names, since some people prefer not giving out such personal details for random people on the internet to see. And I didn't read the post properly. Blame staying up past 1am for 3 nights in a row.

HOW DIDN'T YOU BOTH PICK THAT UP

Oops. Anyway using a Flying type to counter Ground/Fighting types isn't preactical because so many Pokemon learn Earthquake or Brick Break via TM. Electivire learns Cross Chop and can learn Earthquake, and he has a pretty high Attack stat. I don't think switching a Flying type into Electivire would be wise.

So, not fire then? My first go through, that Miltank and its Rollour mad my Quilava's life hell. I was never really partial to any of the starters, but I might go Totodile or Cyndaquil, I'm not sure.
