Thanks cool with me. I work pretty late today, so it will either be updated when I get home tonight, or soon the next day. Awesome!

I'll run the program as soon as I get back to my dorm, but it takes a few hours to finish.

Heh heh, as opposed to a few days. I think we can all live with that :)

I'll get it posted as fast as I can, I promise.

If you ever need any help pulling stats, just ask. I am usually fucking around when I get home from work, and if I can help you make it easier, then let me know :)

Hmm, I must prove that estimate wrong rank up quicker! =)

Yeah, it could always be worse.

I just haven't gotten around to scheduling the program yet. If I would just do that, I could have it run for me (my computer's always on), and then I could post the results when I get back. But, I'm just too lazy to get that Task Scheduler working yet.

Oh, and another idea for an improvement: I might try using Newgrundling's formula for computing experience points needed for level-up, and making a list (like the level counts) showing how many experience points are needed for each level. I could make an "estimated days" column like on the b/p list, but it would be a moot point (just divide point difference by 10 and deposit every day....)

Take your time, although I'm sure we'd all prefer you get to it quicker, but no hurry.

That sounds like a reasonable idea.

But, I'm just too lazy to get that Task Scheduler working yet.

Tsk. Tsk. What good are you then? Lol, jk.

The problem with that is people would want to see it updated daily since the requirements are changing daily. People just wouldn't be patient enough...like me. =) But it would be cool though.

That, once again, sounds reasonable. Just do anything you can, and we'll be grateful to have lists to look at! =)

Eh, but the point levels don't change very much during the week. In any case, I doubt there's any that change more than 10 a week, so it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

Well, I've got good news and bad news. Good news, that mirror that stopped working, has started working again. Which is good, because it's my favorite one (fast connection, no ads, lots of space). So I've bumped it back up to mirror #1 for each list (always use mirror #1!). Now for the bad news: I won't be able to post the update until after midnight, at least. If this stupid program doesn't start going faster, it might have to wait until Monday morning. For some reason it's been going extra slow tonight...

The program finally finished, and I've posted the update. Now, the date scheme is a little weird here. The update is official for 9/13/04 (the date it was finished and posted), but the files are all named with 091204 in their names. Goofy program. Also, the next b/p update is on 9/15/04. Yeah, I know this sounds like a short little 2-day update, but it's really more of a 3-day. Blame it on the fact that I ran this update a day late :-(

Ooh, and another thing. I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this (mainly because it's not that big yet), but I've started another list: this time for the first three deposits each night. It's not a nightly list, but a cumulative list. And you get cookies!! It's called the NG Quick Draw!, and the link is at the top of my signature.

Glad I have the approval of the cookie mistress. You wouldn't think it would be a pain to find pictures of cookies, but it took me a while on Google Images to find good cookie pictures with white backgrounds that I could make transparent...

AAAAHHH!!!!!

I went browsing through the Experience lists (which only loaded halfway at first), and I noticed that every single profile's point change is wrong. I don't know why, and I'm not going to find out why until tomorrow. Oh, this sucks. I thought I had that code working. Oh well, I'll see what's up tomorrow, and maybe I'll rerun the lists using the old data. ERRR...... >={

I don't know why this problem exposed itself now. Maybe I overlooked it in the past. In any case, I've got a little cleaner-upper program rebuilding the data files from the HTML lists as we speak. So this upcoming Sunday's update will have a working experience list. Bad news: I can't fix the currently posted update, because I lost all of the data from the week before. Yeah, I found out what was wrong: when the program was writing the data backups (so I can get point change and rank change), it was writing each user's blam/protect points instead of experience points. Such a stupid little mistake, and it causes so many problems.....errr......

Um...I never got an email from you (at least, not yet). Did you send it to my old address? I've changed my email address (new address is in my profile) over to GMail, and I don't check my old one more than once a day now. Although, even my old email doesn't have any mail from you. Strange...

Yeah, I figured out what went wrong. When my program finished up last Sunday (9/5) and went to write the data backup, it wrote the blam/save counts instead of experience points counts. Then, when it tried to read the data yesterday, the numbers were all messed up. It looks like this same problem should have happened last week too, but I never noticed. No problem, though; I made a little cleaner-upper program to pull all of the info back out of the HTML lists, so the next exp update will be just fine.

As I posted earlier, there was a major bug in the list-building software:

Just wanted to contribute on a small part.

Cool. Interesting how that little island country is giving away its domain names. I'd do it for the other stuff, but it requires 25 hits every 3 months, so stuff like the FAQ and the Guide might not get enough hits to stay alive. The domain's cool, though; I'll add it to my sig. Thanks!

Well, I finally got around to scheduling the listing program. I made it run for 9 this morning, and the silly thing finished in 43 minutes! New record! Anywho, I decided to go ahead and post the results. Next week, I'll make it run a little later, so it gets posted around 1-2pm EST (NG time).

ShittyKitty 306 +16 4048 Elite Guard Staff Sergeant 152 2.764 20.0
Continuum 312 +8 4012 Elite Guard Staff Sergeant 106 1.927 17.7

Well, because I was late running the Sunday update, this was only a 55 hour update (about 2 1/7 days). Of course, you could find this out the same way I did: it's shown at the top of each list's main page (like this one)

I've gone digging through Newgrundling's Level FAQs, and I pulled a couple of formulas from the calculations section. Now the experience list has a couple new features: a point levels list showing how many points are needed for each level, and a new column ("Est. Pts Til Level-Up") showing how many points a user needs to achieve the next level. Both of these new features, along with repaired rank-change and point-change information for the experience list, will be included in the next update, September 19th.<br>
