I'm playing catch-up. I was ~80 off pace on Saturday so I've been jamming to (try to) make up for it. IamNone is the other "blue" I think. MPA, RoweNuts, Syme, and Ya_Ya are all pushing pretty hard as well ... near, at, or over 100/day.

Oops, looks like I'll be copying you again. I've tweaked my program so that it spits out an "alternate sort" version of the blam/post list, sorted by b/p's per hour. Yours is still better, though: mine won't have rank changes, at least not yet. I'm too lazy to code that part.

Oh, and did you notice the new NGLister? I've redone the grabber codes, so they're more reliable. And I added a feature or two. But I haven't gotten a reg email from you yet...? Still hanging on to 1.3?

I've been splitting time between voting, adding the new finds to the spreadsheet, and working on a top secret project. Not a heck of a lot of spare time to do anything else ... I haven't even run the 1.3 DM I have since I pulled stats on the new finds yesterday morning so I could stuff them into the sheet lol

I've settled on an update schedule: Blam/post updates every Wednesday and weekend (Sat or Sun), and experience updates every weekend. With the sheer number of people, including lower-ranked people, on this list, a lot of ranks can change in 3 or 4 days. I've been running the list over and over (testing some new changes), and there's already a lot of changes. So, be prepared for a full blam/post update tomorrow afternoon!

I've been itching to post an update. I was almost tempted to make it a daily thing, but that might be a little too much. I've gone up about 50 ranks since the weekend, so I'm pretty ready, too.

most people (well... pretty much all) who make the lists do them by personal gain... ie: Reach a personal milestone before posting the update (gfox, d0gma, jon, etc.).

It's not so much a personal thing for me, though. I'm just an attention whore ;-)

Well I like to input two things here.

Everytime anyone runs the nglister program they do put a load on the Ng servers. Try to aviod running at busy times.

I still have plans posting an update to my exp list later today. SInce I include some stats you don't I don't see a conflict.
I preaty much post my lsit on the first of each month, mostly cause it takes a while for people to move around in Exp, plus before I had your program it took time to do the update. Ireally going to put your program to a major test later today.

Well, I'll be doing mid-week updates in the middle of the afternoon, so it should be pretty slow. As for weekend updates, I can go for Saturday night / Sunday morning. I think that in terms of stressing the servers, the normal lists that have been converted to NGLister shouldn't be too bad; they're relatively small, and they were being run anyway. As for me, yeah, I'll try to keep it in low-traffic time frames.

I still have plans posting an update to my exp list later today. SInce I include some stats you don't I don't see a conflict.

I'm just doing a blam/protect update tomorrow, so it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I can foresee is conflicting with d0gma's list.....:-(

See the comments in the Data Miner thread. That concern has been more than adequately addressed. I probably came up with more way for it to go wrong that it possibly could, but that was just me trying to be thorough. If you have something else that might be a problem, tack it onto the list.

Ireally going to put your program to a major test later today.

Looking forward to it. You're the last of the listers to put it through its paces, so it will definitely be of interest if it creates any difficulties for you. The only "issues" I've noted so far are the known blanks ... I know one (now three) on my list and I recall there being two vagrants on yours ... but they should be fairly easy to work around. Good luck =)

New update!

I've posted a new update for the NG Total Listing Blam/Protect list. I can only get the first mirror updated right now; you can find that at http://ngtlbp.idohost.com/bls-090104.html for the Blam/Protect list and http://ngtlbp.idohost.com/bsb-090104.html for the Alternate Sort.

Nice update Shitty!

I am so pissed that even though I spent a lot of time on NG for the last few days (a shitload in fact), I really didn't get the bp/hour I was expecting :(

I have to say that the blue color is a bit hard to read. I don't know if you want to do this, but if you made the scale with red being the highest bp/day, and cycled through the colors from there, it might make better readibility...just a thought.

Oh, and thanks for updating RIGHT before my rank-up...haha...

Seriously, nice job!

Hmm...is the blue that bad? Maybe I'll tone it down a bit. I'd like to keep it, though: I want that 5+ to stand out from the rest, because it's really hard to do (people only get that every now and then).

Oh, and thanks for updating RIGHT before my rank-up...haha...

:-p Don't worry, I'll update again this weekend.

Seriously, nice job!

Thanks!

Actually, you got 2.8 BP's/hr. That .8 makes it 67 a day. That's why I have three decimal values on the BP/hr column; it doesn't take much to make a difference.

Yup, the plus/minus signs make it nice.

Oh, and another thing. I'm going to see if my programming language has built-in support for FTP. If so, it might be possible for me to automate the entire process. I could schedule the program to run at certain times for certain lists, have it automatically FTP the results to the web servers, and post the update notice in the forum. Crazy stuff, huh?

Heh. I love stats like those. I used to keep a similar listing based on about 1000 profile links I kept as shortcuts and every couple of months would pull and estimate how many people were above any number of b/p counts (be it 5 b/p or 500 b/p or whatnot)...

I just wanted to mention that the way I did it, to me, is a pretty nice way to put those same numbers you got up there. Let me illustrate:

as of 20040901:

14119 people have more than 100 blam/protect points.
8992 people have more than 200 blam/protect points.
6405 people have more than 300 blam/protect points.
4855 people have more than 400 blam/protect points.
3778 people have more than 500 blam/protect points.
1685 people have more than 1000 blam/protect points.
1020 people have more than 1500 blam/protect points.
722 people have more than 2000 blam/protect points.
531 people have more than 2500 blam/protect points.
430 people have more than 3000 blam/protect points.
301 people have more than 4000 blam/protect points.
226 people have more than 5000 blam/protect points.
181 people have more than 6000 blam/protect points.
157 people have more than 7000 blam/protect points.
131 people have more than 8000 blam/protect points.
99 people have more than 9500 blam/protect points.
76 people have more than 11000 blam/protect points.
61 people have more than 12500 blam/protect points.
45 people have more than 14000 blam/protect points.
42 people have more than 15500 blam/protect points.
32 people have more than 17500 blam/protect points.
24 people have more than 19500 blam/protect points.
19 people have more than 21500 blam/protect points.
15 people have more than 23500 blam/protect points.
14 people have more than 25500 blam/protect points.
9 people have more than 30000 blam/protect points.

IOW, people AT or ABOVE each rank, not just AT. The reason I value that way of looking at it is that you can tell just by looking at it what range of rankings each b/p rank currently covers. Still, both ways of doing it are valuable and informative.

I know Dogma posts a similar thing, but it's only for the EG, and it's not so often. But anywho... whatevers. No big deal, just commentating. #;-}>

I'm just trying out new stuff, seeing what works and what doesn't. You do have a point, though: there are a LOT of rank-ups in the sub-EG ranks. Maybe I'll just keep the counts and rank-ups on their normal pages. You see, these lists are actually on the websites, too. I just copied them here.

Ah, didn't see it over there. I've mostly been looking at the exp ranking on your site, for one thing, haven't checked the b/p listings for several days.

Anyway, yeah, I'd vote for that option. No need to post them here if they're already on the website, it's just such an insane amount of info to be posted so often, since your list dips so much lower than Dogma's. And I wouldn't recommend to just post the rankups above Praporshchik or something, since Dogma already does that, so... eh, too much overlap with all these congrats on level up postings to make a long story short.

Please to check your e-mail, sirrah, I've just asked you something there!

Based on that b/p per hour stat you have going? Well, you COULD do that, but I don't really think it would be very accurate. Someone could have just been getting points for two days, and then they go on a 2 week vacation. It would have to be based on b/p per WEEK, not per hour, if you're gonna put that in. Seems like a fun stat, though. No application to us EGSCs, so I confess to a lack of personal interest. #;-}>

Looking at the exp ranking? That's old stuff! The b/p listing has all of the new formatting stuff that I've been working on. Don't worry, though: Sunday's update will be for both lists, so they'll both be pretty! :-D

Yup, yup, the overlap dilemma again. Nah, if I ever get the automated automated list maker (yes, it's an automated program that's being automated) to work, then I'll make it just post a little message about updates, so people know to take a look.

Aw, but don't you want the list to tell you that you've got 24534 days until your next rank-up? ;-P Well, I suppose I could make it a per-week stat, if I ever feel like tweaking the code again. I've got backups of the data from every single update I've posted, so it's a possibility. Maybe next week...

Posts are not going to happen. Dobio will end that faster than j00bie can deposit.

If I do add stats, it won't be until October 1.
