Art is a survival skill. You must learn to master many arts. Art of illustration, art of poetry, art of fighting, and so on. You can learn to turn art into fortune and power.
Passion.

Would you consider art your passion or a hobby you just enjoy doing?
Personally, I feel like I’m somewhere in the middle. Like I’ve always enjoyed drawing and experimenting with different niches ever since I was young but I wouldn’t necessarily call it a passion. Mainly because if I do it for too long, it’ll just feel like a chore lol
I feel my music is a therapeutic release of bottled up feelings wrapped up in the skin of a hobby that I'm passionate about. Recording and throwing it out is kinda like taking a brain shit and makes me feel lighter in my mind and keeps me goin' for a little longer.
The Devil in denim
That's a good question - I'm not sure, a bit of both I guess. I think it's more of a hobby though - while I am happy to spend a long time on it, and try to improve as much as possible, it's also something I don't really want to formerly study because like you said, it would become a chore. I'm happy drawing stuff I want when I want.

For me it's both! It's a passion of mine that I do as a hobby! I don't do it as a job though so I don't take to too seriously which got me into arguments with people in these forums when I would ask for advice. It took me way too long to realize that people like @Skoops especially do art professionally and I was asking for pro advice which kind of makes me feel bad in hindsight because I was short fused at times not knowing that's not what I wanted to do so if I could go back I would have prevented that. But I still do try to improve my craft for myself like how I recently bought a cheap Wacom Intuos screenless tablet that I have been learning to use! It's been a fun learning process as well! :)

I don't have hobbies, I have projects.

I think it's both things, I do art because I love making it and art is my hobby because it's fun.
Definitely passion, I'm an artist because I want to entertain people and fill the world with colorful things for a living.
Best regards

It's more like an urge than either a passion or hobby for me. I even tried to give it up for a couple of years, didn't worked well.

Same boat as you actually.
Want to turn it into a passion but it's stuck as a hobby lol.
There are a lot of things that I tend to get passionate about, but that I wouldn't consider them a hobby, so for me "hobby" seems like the right word here.
Thank you for your time.
