Here's so more mappings I did myself.
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, S = Cross, D = Triangle, Space = Circle, F = R1
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, A = Cross, D = Square, S = Triangle, C = Circle, Space = Options, B = Share
Left & Right Arrow Keys = D-Pad, Up Arrow Key = Cross, Space = Square, Left Shift = Triangle
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, Z = Cross, X = Square, C = Triangle, M = Circle, P = Options
WAD = D-Pad, W = Cross, Arrow Keys = Right Stick, R = Options
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, X = Cross, C = Square
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, Space = Cross
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, X = Cross, C = Square, R = Options
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, X = Cross, C = Square, Right Shift = Triangle, R = Circle, Esc = Options, Enter = R1
Arrow Keys = D-Pad, Z = Cross, X = Square
Left & Right Arrow Keys = D-Pad, Up Arrow Key = Cross
Left, Down, & Right Arrow Keys = D-Pad, Up Arrow Key = Cross, Down Arrow Key = Square
now i can finally fulfill my dream of using a controller on alien hominid.
Edit: just tried out fancy pants and it's so crisp! definitely a worthwhile update!
Woah that's so cool but how the heck is something like this even possible? There's no way that could work for EVERY game on this site right?

Oh, awesome! I misread your original post like crazy cuz I was in the middle of the woods trying to read it haha
I mapped asslevania globally and its sweet!
they play so well with controller support, it really elevates these old games. Kinda feels like a fresh coat of paint

As long as it's Flash and doesn't need a mouse for the gameplay, it should be doable!

Controller Mapping!
Punch Out Tom Fulp on controller? 👀
Not sure if this is the ideal mapping, let me know your thoughts:

That works pretty good! I customized it to add the option to use left and right bumpers in addition to the triggers, and that felt even comfier to me!

The Kill Kar II isn't ready for Ruffle yet (sound bug) but I did the rest, with a few tweaks.

Both Ninja Painter games use the arrow keys for movement, which can be easily bound to the D-pad/stick.
Done!
Now that I've been able to sit down and actually toy around with a controller on some Flashes... (This update ROCKSSSS)
(Very silly thing to be giving controller support)

And while this thread is Ruffle based ,I'd like to officially ask for fullscreen to have the same aspect ratio as the game window size so you don't see beyond the boundaries. I seem to remember the old version of Ruffle having that feature and I sorely miss it because we can view stuff in 4K but way beyond what any developer intended in a tiny window.
This batch should all be done! We do need to revisit our Ruffle fullscreen settings, I think I noted the parameters in a ticket a while back.
Oh WHOA this shows up now on games in general, Flash or not!
I've never wanted to cry tears of joy so much until now
Thanks so much for this, it's gonna be so fucking cool to play old flash games with controllers now
Edit: OMG PLS ADD MARIO 63 PLS PLS PLSSSS
Call the cops all you want on me
That won't make me uncum on the Nintendo Wii

I'm making a mad science experiment navigate mouse menus in Flash with a controller by binding Tab to the Select button, then using the D-pad bound to the arrow keys to select different clickable buttons. Now I just need to find an equivalent key to click with!
I figured it out! Tab to enter menu selection mode, and then SPACE to select a menu. You can just bind those keys, and get full controller support in menus that use this system! You can just navigate normal clickable buttons with arrow keys, so that can be bound to a D-pad. The A button, Start, or hell even Select if there's no use for it can be used to select. Works great with something like Super Karoshi, 100% controller support with the right layout! Wish I could figure out why it doesn't play ball for something like Road of the Dead. I mean, the Space button is already the "continue" button in that game. Probably something to do with intercepting the controls for remappable inputs.
HOLY SHIT this works for point and click adventure games! The ones that use this button system anyway! Something like start to enter selection mode, d-pad arrow navigation, Space or Enter to "click"! This is scary. Scary COOL!!!

Is this a newgrounds only feature? Or is this part of ruffle now? Also, didn't the API get updated to let you use flash 8 (AS2) code with the cloud saves for instance?
The gamepad mapping will only work on NG. And yup the API at newgrounds.io has an AS2 implementation, so you can use that and include cloud saves on NG.
I still need Steam, to let me use my Joy-Cons as my mouse-cursor and stuff. Once Ruffle nails that too, I'll get rid of it, m'kay?

Thanks for this, guys. Between Ruffle making games playable in browser post 2020 and this, you have done so much of my work for me.
Just implemented, works REALLY well, might be my new preferred way to play over touchscreen!
Added a mapping for my game dwarf planet one. It feels a lot nicer than keyboard controls! I might update the game to integrate gamepad support a little better, since the keyboard controls have some goofy stuff like using the down arrow as an action button (and then that makes menuing funny). If there was some way to detect that someone's using a gamepad so I could switch to gamepad mode automatically that might be a cool feature.

Lol, check it ';3
(Sorry for the piss poor quality gif, had to crop/shrink/compress the shit out of it, to be able to post it here, and have the thing actually play instead of freeze.)
That is amazing, never expected controller support for flash games haha.

(The only flash games with gamepad controls I can think of is The Fancy Pants Adventures World 4 Part 1 and 2)
Anyway Mario Combat. I was thinking about this game when this announcement happened.

Left Key - Left Stick
Right Key - Right Stick
Up Key - Cross/A Button
A - Square/X Button
Space - Triangle/Y Button
Left Key - Left D-Pad
Right Key - Right D-Pad
(those again but just some additions)
And I like the way you think, my dude. That was exactly the first game that came to my mind (that, and Discount Mayonaise & Glass Fish Rythm), when I checked this amazing new Ruffle-update post.
I also need this in my life on a controller:
Its my Favorite Classic Sonic Platformer of all time.
