Yes, I get really stressed out if I spend too much time on a song and then I don't finish it, I have to finish them fast.
Yeah, I used to do that...I was taking time on my G2961 remix... but then my computer died XDDDD

Uh oh. Hope it'll get better. (good thing that is was a minor accident)
Anyway, I'm back, and the scores are in!
In case that's too small, read on.
Advancing to Round 3 are as follows:
@KI1 -- Your opponent may have forfeited the match, but you came in with a scorching 9/10!
@G2961 -- It was close, but metalstep and $3 headphones was a resounding success. 9/10
@anthonyragus -- That live trumpet really sold it for me. Great recording, and smooth playing! 9.5/10
@Jotrocken -- Combining many influences did you many favors. Exciting and spirited remix! 8/10
@monsanto64 -- I've never heard someone make a single note bassline work. Very moody mix! 7/10
@3manonmusic -- I needed help for this one! Maybe @TaintedLogic can say some words? 7.25 A - 8.625 T
Top 3 scorers, receiving frontpage:
@anthonyragus
@ireadysucks
@KI1 and @G2961, tied for 3rd overall
Special commendations:
@Aalasteir, for mandating a tie-break, and a seriously adventurous interpretation of the source. I've fallen in love with the distorted haze you've cultivated in your music, and I hope you make more like this in times to come.
@ireadysucks, for a slamming remix. I had a REALLY hard time judging between your and anthonyragus' pieces. Both were of exceptional quality, and I was jamming. Pure ear candy.
@CrimsonKero, for staying the course, and despite needing an extension, coming up with a pretty cool theme. That's something I don't see a lot of people do -- A, follow through, and B, dare to be different! I love that about your music. "Can't Do Shit" is also a bop. One of my favorites out of the remix assignments!
@Neon-Skies, nice, hard-hitting master. Also, congratulations on hitting 19k listens! You fully encapsulated the 2015-2017 era of Geometry Dash music, and I enjoyed your piece so much. You also gave G2961 a run for his money! At some points, I was concerned his $3 mixing headphones might do him in!
@chordproduction, you had some crazy wild melodies going on in your piece, and I really enjoyed your use of soundfonts. All in all, very adventurous and fun to listen -- especially since soundfonts are my favorite thing. If you ever want to talk shop, hit me up!
STEMS
Now that the round is concluded, everyone should have received stems. That's right. Whether you made it or not, you are free to remix my stuff as you see fit, and I'll be happy to commemorate your work on the official playlist when all is said and done!
Nestled in the files are some handy notes for the libraries, FX, and samples used, for those interested in my sound design. And by the way, do feel free to chop samples as you please, if you hear something you like!
Please note, VOX denotes files with vocals. Bass and guitars are minimally processed with amps. Most other files are dry. Send tracks are denoted with special instructions.

FINAL ROUND!!!
Since we're running behind schedule, everyone may start on their tracks immediately, pronto, time now.
Round 3 was supposed to end July 6th. The new date is July 11th.
That's when the clock strikes midnight, and Thursday becomes Friday, July 11 in the US, to be exact.
After which I will take one day to review everyone's submissions. If everyone finishes before July 4th, I will offer a 3-day grace period for everyone to review their tracks before judging, so everyone can get their prize money!
Victory Conditions: Highest overall score. Ties will be ranked sequentially via tie-breaker.
Rules: Standard audio portal rules. Remix or cover as you see fit. However, the more of your individual flavor you inject into your work, the higher your likelihood of winning!
I want to hear your personal interpretations and style. It's the only thing that will keep 6 different iterations of a song I've heard 100x while composing and mixing interesting, haha. Go nuts!
The only hard rule is that your remix/cover must incorporate the source in a way that is recognizably derivative. What that means is up to you, whether that's incorporating lyrics, melody, structure, samples, etc.
Other than that, anything goes.
PRIZES:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place $50
3rd-5th Places - $25
And frontpages courtesy of @TomFulp!
Now, you've heard what your competition is capable of. Do what you gotta do, and beat them to that prize money!
Well. That was a pretty interesting experience of participating in this competition. Glad, that I took part in it. Thanks for the good words and evaluations. Wish success to everyone in the final round. And will make sure to put the stems to good use. (especially the vox ones)

Second place yet not advancing... Alas, this is what happens when you go against anthony ragus
Thanks again for all the essays of feedback (and the front pages!), gave me a lot of things to think about music-wise (and something to do when I was 'facing' writers' block)
Ok brb gonna go cry and make emo breakcore or something :)
Your remix is incredible, still listening to it. I'm excited to hear whatever you do next!

Welcome to the Re-Remix Me Competition!
I had the idea while making this track, which is itself a remix of one of my previous works.

I think it sounds pretty awesome, but I'd bet $225 five of you reading this thread can do better!
Summary:
The competition will consist of 3 rounds, an audition, a shootout in which you remix your competitors, and the coup de grâce, remixing my track – plus the prize money. It will span May 1st through July 6th.
Prizes:
Thanks to @TomFulp, the TOP 5 will receive those coveted FRONTPAGES!
Second round participants will receive stems for "YOU METAL RMX", whether you make it to the finals or not! This includes license to use them commercially, as described in the readme. If you run into problems with your DSPs regarding your remixes, just hit me up.
Best part? You can lock in your audition today!
HOW TO ENTER
Post to this thread with:
Stage 1: Auditions
Remixes are encouraged but not necessary. Simply select a complete piece of yours which you feel is representative of your capabilities as a music producer and post to the thread!
No rules besides that your audition must follow NG Audio Guidelines.
https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/terms-of-use/audio-guidelines
Round 1 begins immediately after this post. Scores and winners will be announced May 16th.
Scoring: ten-point scale breakdown of Production, Mixing, Mastering, and Style.
Stage 2: Onto the real competition!
Half of participants will survive to Round 2, which will consist of remixes and covers of your competitors!
On May 20th, you will be randomly assigned an entrant's track to remix. You will have until June 10th to remix their entry from the previous round.
If there is an odd number of competitors, you will be assigned the first runner-up from the previous round!
I will take one week to judge everyone's entries. During judging, everyone will be given a copy of "YOU" stems via DM.
Half of entrants will pass this stage. The top 3 will receive frontpages.
Stage 3: Let the best remix win!
The final round will begin June 15th and last until July 6th.
There are no rules for just how hard you can go, only that your entry should use recognizable melodies or stems from the pack. No genre restrictions apply.
You may choose to COVER the vocals or instruments in a different style, so long as the above is true.
Genre-bending is encouraged. That’s how this track was born!
I will take a week to work out the winners, and if necessary call in another judge to impartially break ties.
----------------------------------------
Some extra stuff about rules and payments
Obviously, no AI generated content or violating NG rules as specified above. Such entries will be disqualified and banned.
Replies without a small blurb, either about your artist history or track history will be ignored (with notice). Tell us your story!
Must be a member of Newgrounds for at least 30 days by the closing of Round 2 to participate. That's June 10th, 2025. This is to discourage random people from Gumroad from spamming the thread to get free stems.
Must have a way for me to pay you to receive prize money! Otherwise we'll have to figure something out, like supporter status! I can process payouts with Paypal, Venmo, Cashapp, Square, and some other online merchants.
You may choose to defer your prize money to another competitor of your choice.
Audience donations to the prize pool are accepted. Please send any donations to my NG inbox. I will announce them here once we're sure they're a definite!
Applications for tie-breaker judge to be discussed via PM!
That’s it. Now, who wants to win some cash?
Hi. My name Danik1207 (my nickname). I use GarageBand and FL Studio Mobile. I really like to compose music.
As it seems I am on of the early submission...

How is everyone doing so far? Fingers crossed?
I never knew I had the skills in me to do psytrance like this lol, I'm genuinely proud of this. Good luck everyone on their last round!
Here we go, final round...
Of course I had to get the flu during the final week. Is that a weird resonating or just my sinuses? Hmmm...
I'm not sure if it will take at least the third place, because all this time I had no ideas how to make this remix. And as usual, it was only on the last day that I was able to do something in 6 hours.
In general, here is:
Hey guys, just popping in to say, congratulations for making it this far. The next time you hear from me will be the contest results, and your winnings!
I do have one minor update -- and by that I mean sudden family emergency. Since I'm moving house (if possible) next month, and my mom is at risk of losing her house, payout of winnings will be pushed back more than likely to August at the earliest -- October at the absolute latest. Probably the first week of September the way things are looking now.
It all depends on how much assistance I'm able to find for mom, and how much is left over after working up monies for rent and deposit at the new place. But winnings WILL be paid out, because you guys have worked so hard these last few rounds, and as much as this community has given to me, I want to give back to it. <3 Bear with me!
Besides that, now that everyone's entries are in, Round 3 Judging Begins! And I'm VERY excited to hear what you have in store.
Some changes from previous round's methodology, which I have thought over as NGUAC auditions judging overlaps this season:
To eliminate ties, scores will be tallied in increments of .5, using the same scoring rationale and categories as the previous round. If ties still remain, @TaintedLogic remains on call.
It would ordinarily take me no more than an hour to score everyone's tracks, but since these are based on the same source, I will score one entry per day. This will help me not to subconsciously compare songs against each other, which, given the sample size, would be a problem!
Instead, I will be listening to each track AT LEAST six times, once for each scoring category, once for evaluation, and at least one more time prior to writing a full track review.
That means I'll be back here no later than the evening of July 17th with everyone's results!
So, before I dive into scoring, best of luck, guys. You rock. To @KI1, @anthonyragus, @G2961, @Jotrocken, @monsanto64, and @3manonmusic, may the fourths be with you!
And PS, besides the prize money, if you don't have your own distribution set up, and you'd like to publish this work professionally, I can do that for you through DistroKid. If you'd like that, send me a DM.

Hey, guys, another family emergency. I just got a call that my aunt is dying. I estimate I'll need to push judging back by about three days, while I spend time with my mom and my sister.
