I grew up with it because I was too dumb to know that TF2 was FREE at the time and Roblox was also free. I made a lot of fake friends there. I stopped playing after I started playing on Steam. But Roblox was part of my childhood and I liked it. I don't play it anymore but I do cum back to it once in a while, but now everyone hates it. I know why but what do you guys think? Did you like Roblox?

I used to have a hate boner for Roblox early 2010s, then I grew to love it by the end of the 2010s.

Shame, because the end of the 2010s is when it became shit.

Now? I hate it, mainly because the Roblox devs are scumbags, and the community just refuses to move on with less limited engines, that force you to use the service maintained by scumbags.

Yes, servers cost money, but most online central games on Roblox are ghost towns, apart from stuff like Murder Mystery and mini game compilations, the other half of games nothing would change if you could play solo to begin with.

Point is, the devs are assholes, and I dont like that people support Roblox still by giving them money, and using their limited ass engine for games that are either gonna die day one, or be forced online experiences in otherwise single player games.

You can like Roblox, you can use Roblox all you want, but it's my two cents I'm not gonna put people down for liking it.

When I go to my local library, I see some kids or teenagers playing it. I think, “Cool, I used to enjoy that game”.

I think I'm in the middle of this THING. I don't love Roblox anymore, but I don't hate it. I still liked I play it as a kid... I wish I was playing TF2 sooner.

Despite it all, I still love Roblox, and still occasionally play it with my younger brother.

I used to play the hell out of roblox when I was a kid, I have a lot of good memories of games I would play. Nowadays none of the games interest me but I figure any kid who plays on the site is having a blast rn

YEAH! I remember rainy days, I would play the hell out of it on my laptop.

it caught my eye waaaaay back in '07 because I'll never have enough platformers with level editors but I didn't have a PC at the time with enough power or storage space to actually play it. And eventually LittleBigPlanet came out and took up a good several years of my life and I'd all but forgotten about Roblox's existence until 2020 when it seemed to have sprung back into popularity and also became trendy with young adults.

Side tangent, I wonder if all those PS3 and 360 games that had level and mission editors tacked on was a byproduct of Roblox's success back when it debuted.

Because this is 75% of games made in it. Rest are crappy recreations of already cheap or free indie games.

I used to love Roblox during the 2010s, but I eventually stopped playing, as I have grown to dislike MMOs. And with the now toxic environment on there, I am REALLY glad I quit. I now hate that game. Minecraft and Steam are way better.

Because its intended audience are kids. That's why. That's the only reason. And then they justify it because the company that runs it is shitty and exploitative (gee, never heard that one before). But anyone who bashes a children's game that extensively for superficial reasons never got over grade school. What, do you think only you had the perfect childhood, and everyone before you grew up in the stone ages banging rocks together and everyone after grew up with dopamine machines soldered to their eyeballs? You're the sole exception? Get real.

Roblox, I hate Roblox. No, not Games. I hate Roblox, the corporation, the platform. I play really cool games on roblox, good shit, stuff that very little people play. Roblox is run by a bunch of peanut brains that have a history of a comedic and cartoonishly stuipid ammount negligence towards people who engage in criminal and inappropriate activity. They literally unban very obvoiusly sinister inappropriate accounts. 3rd party non profit operations enforce roblox 100% more effective than roblox. Roblox needs to sell their company to more compitent induviduals, they are stupid, dumb, stupid, peanut brain, stupid dumb, cartoonishly dumb. The level of stupidity shown by the "people" who run roblox is titantic, gigantic, cosmically stupid. I think roblox was about to spend a zillion dollars to sue a brah that goes by the name ruben sim. Aint nothin like a meep city party!

I used to love playing Roblox on my cousin's desktop as a kid and eventually got my own account going into middle school. Since nearly getting out of and eventually graduating High School, I stopped playing Roblox not just because I aged out of it, but also the problematic nature of the current meta.

Probably because people are blinded by nostalgia and think the new stuff is lame. Or just a hater of Roblox in general and never played a game in it longer then 5 minutes.

Roblox was originally intended to be an educational tool for teaching children how to make games, including aspects of team management and compensation.

However, over the years their version of an asset store became this catalog of slop cosmetic items, several of which infringe on existing copyrighted materials and/or are grossly overpriced in terms of real world money. Also, Roblox became a den for... Half Life 2 Civil Protection but if they were abbreviated because of the service's accessibility to / appeal for minors.

I think its sad and gross that something meant to be helpful and educational for kids turned into what it is now.

And I don't remember a time Roblox wasn't like this. So I've always found it disgusting.
