Is anyone out there interested in collaborating/organizing a meetup in Florida? Found that there may be a handful of folks in the Florida or southeast area of the US who could organize such an event. Newgrounders have expressed interest in such a meetup, but no one ever organized one.
A Florida meet up sounds like a good idea! It'd be nice to have some locations closer to the south for once
We could do a beach meet up or something if people are comfortable with that (obviously that's not the only thing to do there)

Funny you bring this up, I have been planning on traveling across the country later this year and Florida was going to be my first stop! A meet up would be awesome, what idea(s) were you planning to have in mind?

If it's going to be a big meetup then there's always the Prime Osborn convention center. (I haven't been there in years though)

We're mainly thinking of something casual and small to start. I was thinking something along the lines of meeting at a food place or an extracurricular activity outside that brings folks together for a day. Still in the idea phase, but all ears. Gauging what people would be interested in for a meetup!

Good to keep in mind - uncertain of the "where" yet, but I think that this may be a little smaller and casual meetup at the end of the day. I appreciate that consideration though!

I find that gauging the amount of folks interested in it first would be the best start to it all, and usually mentioning it to Tom Fulp gets the ball rolling once things are set later with a date & location. This seems to be the first inquiry for a Florida meetup, so we're still at the very start of things!

west palm beach is too far and it's too close to the gangs with Miami coming in close. Also the train for round trip isn't going to give us enough time.
Ah, that's fair to mention. How about something like Orlando in the future? I'm familiar with the CFL area and it was one of the main hot spots I considered!

I'd say Orlando sounds like a good spot! Has a lot to do there and shouldn't be too difficult to avoid the bad parts of the city.

Some of my folks that live down in Orlando own a cozy lil ramen shop themed after one of the most popular animes of all-time. Anyone guessed it? Yup, I'm talkin about Dragon Ball Z! I can ask them if they're down with hosting a small meet-up and tell them to rev up the ramen production so all of y'all are fed! Did I mention they have a small collection of collectible figures? That's right, I'm talkin Bandai Models, Action Figs, Pops etc. Even a life-size statue of Goku himself if you want to see how you measure up against the OG Super Saiyan in the Soupa Saiyan establishment. They've also got game stations and TVs too, so we can all nerd out together.

I am within the Central Florida area (specifically Orlando), so that would definitely be super convenient for me!

I'm also helping to organize this event and we are planning on doing it for next year, so it wouldn't be happening this year. Nevertheless, we are happy to see people engaged! We also were thinking of doing it in Orlando, but we're open to other suggestions too. Stay involved!

I'm mildly interested...if the meet is to be in Jacksonville or near it, then I could attend. If you're thinking Ft. Lauderdale or Miami or wherever, then I can't go. Still, it's the decision of the organizers, whoever they may be.
