Let's get it.
Okay, I'm sorry but this track was definitely not made specifically for the Battle of the Bands. Even if this user actually was a part of the band at some point, this line in particular from the Author Comments clearly invalidates the legitimacy of their eligibility: "Performed by Hotel Arcadia, recorded in Ozzy Island, 1999."
What's your hot take, @Flamadour? I'll move on to the other tracks for now.

The optimistic part of me wants to think that this is just something the author made up for flavor. Based on his user page, @Zip-Zap-Official wasn't even born yet in '99. Would love to hear Zip-Zap's side of the story.

My band is a project based on a story I'm writing, this wasn't actually from 1999 lol

Probably something that should have been included in the Author's Comments to avoid this kind of situation. Vetting the entrants is logically part of the process, after all.
Out of curiosity, are the named participants in the band actual people? Or is it all just part of the mystique?

All part of the story also, the song was actually made 100% by myself

In future it would be best to clarify in the author comments that the song was made entirely by you.

With the results now in and the scores tallied up, I can now officially announce the winner of this year’s Battle of the Bands 2024. But before I announce the winner I’d like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s contest, I’d like to thank the judges for their time and Tom for creating Newgrounds to begin with and for pinning the discussion thread.
Now that the battle is over, only one shall emerge victorious and claim the first place prize of $100 and the winner of Battle of the Bands 2024 is….
Screed - Queering Cat Rescue by @UwUwizard congratulations to you and your band.
And here is the full rundown of the scores.

Wow, holy shit! Can’t believe we won, especially with how good everyone’s submissions were this year.
It’s been a really rough couple days with university stuff (found out in the middle of an anime studies lecture and had to resist the urge to do shrieking in class), so finding out we did so well is a really lovely pick me up. Thanks so much all!

I've messaged Tom about the results so you should receive the prize money soon. Again congratulations on winning this year's Battle of the Bands.
Oh snap, I missed 3rd place by half a point. Congrats to the winners!
DM me if you want a review!
Congrats to those that won and all the other entries for their creations, and thanks for those hosting/judging this event! It was a fun new experience for me and thanks to those who listened to my song and gave some feedback! I would definitely consider participating in another one of these in the future!
