It's complicated.
The thing is at the end of the day, Love is passion. Passion is suffering. And you suffer for what you care about most.
Sure, there are different kinds of love but much like everything else in life, with whatever you want for yourself, the other person, or even a thing then you really have to take a lot of hits in order to have any sense of passion for what you want out of it and it's not exactly the easiest thing to truly get. Nothing in life comes easy.
The only thing that is actually the opposite of "Love" in a true sense is indifference, not "Hate".,
Truthfully, you have to care about something you hate. Hence why I say that love and hate are on the same coin called passion.
If you don't care, then you can't say you love or hate because the lack of means that you don't have the passion to see whatever it is you want out of the series of emotions you're putting out for someone or something.
And so, love is passion.
