What about a Newgrounds museum of old Newgrounds layouts, including the past April Fools skins, and icons etc?

Web Design Museum has you covered!
At least for the main layouts! (EDIT: I see one Halloween skin in there. Also someone added 2024’s very recently!)

I like how the current system is like email, vs a chat where you're expected to stick around indefinitely for a back-and-forth. I don't like having to dig up old PMs to reference past conversations when someone hasn't quoted the previous exchange, though; that's one way the new system would be much easier to deal with. I would love being able to pull a handful of people into a group message.
I 100% agree with this. I much prefer a PM system to be more like an email than a chat client even from a user perspective. I don't think Newgrounds needs to be the next Discord or whatever.
If it's not too difficult to implement, why not both? An instant chat-like message system for casual talk PLUS an e-mail style for more formal contact.

I mean technically NG already has both…so maybe both can be fleshed out a little more over time!
Group PMs would be really cool!

He played the alpha bro (pim's sister's boyfriend) in episode 1.
Maybe some day they will make an entire episode about Alpha.
No no don't spoil it
Someone may have already mentioned this, but both the NGUAC (organized by @TaintedLogic) and the NGADM (under @AED-4) open July 1st. Not sure about the Underdog competition's deadline, but the Deathmatch auditions end July 21st!
@TomFulp just in case you'd like to append these to the calendar because they're pretty awesome!

I really like how feeds work on Newgrounds !
They are really useful and they make it easier to see the entries of the people you follow.
What I like the most about the Calendar page (OG layout) is the inclusion of the Madness Combat guy as the part of the UI! I feel like most other pages don't have any NG characters anymore, it's just in the wall art... I personally love when history of the site gets represented concretely in the UI! Hope that remains in some way - just a little personal hope of mine!
That Toriyama-tinged "Newgrounds Manga Comic" wallpaper by @IvanAlmighty is so classy! Love it.
I especially dig how Sublo and Tangy Mustard were altered to fit that style.

Ivan killed it with this site skin yeah! I even see the ol' Pico voting icons intended for the current layout. Those need to be like a seasonal thing or option at some point!

Shoulda specified, they were never implemented but they're in the current site skin!

That's a bummer. They should be implemented at some point!

I'm not sure how hard it would be to have like custom siteskins (i.e changing the tankman voting icon to the old Pico ones or whatever you want) my guess would be it would clash with mobile friendliness a bit
@tomfulp got any professional input?

Letting people swap the Tankman voting bar for a Pico voting bar, as well as letting them choose their own site theme from a library of past themes, are two items on our list but might never actually get to be high enough priority to get implemented. It's questionable how many people would really appreciate them as features, vs whatever we'd have to keep on the backburner in order to add them.

Letting people swap the Tankman voting bar for a Pico voting bar
As an aside, there is a userstyle which does exactly that, alongside offering a few other voting bars.
Anyone who wants a Pico voting bar probably already has that installed. If they don't, you can probably guide them to it and put off officially implementing the feature until the major stuff's done.

Someone should do this WITH Ivan’s Pico icons!

I gave the Pico voting bar thing as more of an example of custom siteskin stuff, I was picturing something more like (as an example) a Madness Combat themed siteskin that gives everything a black, red and grey colour scheme like everything is being viewed on one of the tablets you see across the series, change a couple of icons and of course replace the Steve head with a Madcom character (probably Sanford given he's the only guy with an expression)
Previous site themes would basically get lumped under the same customization system
I think besides people who are super into personalisation people would probably appreciate having control over the UI design considering how often you see people get upset over UI changes on other websites (Youtube and Reddit get the most complaints)
Me personally I just wanna get "festive" for Pico Day or Madness Day so I'm in neither camp
Though I think this line
whatever we'd have to keep on the backburner in order to add them.
Sorta seals the whole deal for me, I've been a vocal fan of the whole lit portal thing and I can be patient about it but I wouldn't wanna delay it for something I don't even care that strongly about personally

Also I'm sure I've whined about this before, maybe its even been addressed but i cant find it, but can we pretty please get the option to toggle off the audio portals track progress retention? I was trying to listen through my audio at work, but all of the songs kept starting in the middle or near the end ;-; It's a very useful feature for compilations and podcasts but most of the time it just irritates me
The plan there is that any page using the in-page player (like playlists) would start a song from the beginning if it has advanced to it as the next song in the playlist. That way songs would still pick up where you left off if you leave and come back to the song, but playlists would work the way all of us want them to work. This is one the higher priority tickets at the moment, I'd say it's in the Top 30 of ~375 tickets in the system.
This would be SUPER helpful for judging music compos. I like to listen to the Art-Inspired Music Contest entries in the playlist while washing dishes, and it's always annoying when a track suddenly starts in the middle or near the end just because I had played it partway through on the audio page that one time. It would also be nice if a playlist also remembered which track you played last before closing it (though the starting in the middle track issue is definitely the bigger annoyance).
All this pico icon talk gave me an idea!
