Something’s been floating around my head for a while now.

How do you guys feel about your own sociability here on Newgrounds?

To me, I frequently feel like I’m socializing too little and too much here all at the same time: no clue if I should take one direction or another. Am I alone on this?

Ehh, I used to be a lot more social here, but things started to feel kinda, not "dead" but just not as active as it once was. Familiar faces stopped posting as much, and I haven't seen as many fun events as in the past. That combined with getting increasingly busy made me only log in to check for happenings and then leave.

So idk really.

Man, I really wanna do something to encourage more traffic here; but for now, I’m too busy building up a lot of things to do so.

I've seen you working on your project every now and then.

I liked the logos and concept art. Hopefully all goes well with it.

Thank you! I’m thinking about dipping my toes a bit more on other places; however, there are things about this site that I greatly prefer over any other social media site. I’m such a sucker for this place, to be honest!

Imo, maybe some stars/small dots in the sky might make the top half feel less empty. Also, a slight gradient or alternating color scheme for the darkness instead of just black would go hard as hell.

Good work!

Anybody watch that new Dandadan episode? That shit broke me so hard, I instinctively started drawing one of the episode’s best scenes and finished it in one sitting last night (not including some minor touch-ups in the morning).

If someone who sees this hasn’t watched it, I highly recommend it. It is the best adaptation I could hope for.

Is there anyone who draws the torso first when it comes to drawing characters, because I do.

I can talk easily to people on here, which is really good! And it makes me so happy to see people make fan art of my characters. I wish I got more comments, though I'm a sketchbook artist who doesn't have all the time in the world to colour so unfortunately I don't get much traction. I don't care for fame but I do want an audience and when I get one / I am heard more I think I'll have a second home and I'll be really sociable. I don't really work in friend groups too easily if 'fitting in' is a factor but I really do feel like I can give so much advice here and it makes me smile getting to give it.

On a seperate note, hi everyone! I said I'd only come back once I figured out my fundamentals, and I'm getting the hang of it. I'm practicing my new style for drawing women and I'm going to do what I do for men as I am with some slight changes so that the fundamentals allow me to have better dimensions / sketches from different angles. I'm not gonna do perspective and landscaping just yet and I'll only do digital when I am finally consistent and want to do commissions (so maybe late next year). I'm currently working on a new character sheet for my self-insert, would it be OK if I made a post where I uploaded the character sheet and asked people to DMC if I DMC'd back for them? Just asking since I'm unsure if it would count as spam.

It's time I accepted if I want to someday in the future, collaborate with other animators, I need to do animation constantly. So any distractions like working on a video game or a comic book, needs to be forgotten about. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

You have a greater chance in life of experiencing the lazarus phenomenon (Being declared dead and then living again a short brief period later) than making some earth shattering masterpiece of a work.

Art stuff or something like that.

I think I'm going to backtrack a bit. The games idea might be useful, but comics? Yeah, I can live without doing comics.

I was gonna say, there's a ton of animation to be done in games. I barely ever animate for animation's sake, but I consider myself pretty decent at it because I've made a zillion different assets over the years. Plus if you can actually get a functional game out, it shows you can successfully work with other people. All good things.

I think that's due to the ambiguity of what you meant by "assets". When I hear "assets" in the context of animation I'm thinking props or the static body parts you give to the riggers. But it probably means something different in the context of video gaymes

Even if someone doesn't know how much animation is in my games, I thought it'd be kinda obvious that I was talking about something that'd give me animation experience. You were too eager to get a dunk in. I expect a better dunk when I actually say something dumb.
