Don't know if this is the appropriate thread to post this since the general thread is unfortunately gone, but how did you first discover this awesome site? For me i had first heard about it from a late cousin of mine. I was staying at his place one weekend and while i was looking for games to play on his computer he had told me about newgrounds (which imo was a strange name for a site, but i digress ) we played a bunch of games, watched videos, etc. Ever since then i come here from time to time to check out what's new when i'm not busy.

When I was looking for that metal slug flash game (that is no longer on here anymore) back in the summer of 2007, the rest of my time on here is history. It has changed a lot since I've discovered the website.

Playing Pico's School in a CD-ROM full of flash games. That was almost 20 years ago.

Man, it's been a long time. But i think my mom and my older brother were watching some flash animations on ebaum's world and they fell into a rabbit hole and eventually winded up here playing flash games. One in particular i remember was Kindergarden Killer and Fishy! This was maybe like 2006.

Ever since then always came back.

A friend took me to his house after school to hang out, this was like 04 maybe? But he showed me how there were games and cartoons on Newgrounds (the animation he showed me first was Final Fantasy Gil Quest, which helped ease me into Final Fantasy gradually over the next few years).

I would go on NG just about every day for a long time to explore video game parodies and other nonsense. I loved that there was so much stuff to see and do compared to just the cartoons on TV.

I saw the logo on some game that kept poping the medals up ages ago, so I decided to check this place out. didn't create an account until I heard of newgrounds player and ruffle though.

i found NG through a site called FlashPortal.com. I clicked an affiliate link to NG mistaking it for a game but decided to check the place out because of all the sprite flashes. I think the first flash I'd ever watched on NG was a sprite animation of Mario & Luigi fighting King Bob-Omb

back in 2004 i was looking for games to play on the computer and ended up coming across newgrounds via google search.

I don't remember my first time on this website, but I do remember checking out a few flash games way back in the day when I was younger. Around 2009 or so I remember playing a madness combat flash game lol, that's how far my memory goes I guess.

Although I heard about the name of the site many years ago by watching animations that came from here on YouTube, I never once used this site. It wasn't until the Newgrounds Smash Bros collab back in December of 2018 that I decided to visit the site for the first time ever and realised that those videos I used to watch when I was younger came from Newgrounds.

I'd say around 1999:

Watching my classmates play Pokemon and Assassin games in the computer lab.

It was somewhere in early 2021. January or February.

I was looking at some old Eddsworld animations because I was curious.

I didn't touch the site again until a few months later when I discovered Pico's School.

I was the only 8th grader that was addicted to that game.

Soon after, I joined the site a week after my 14th birthday.

I had seen the other kids in high school going to it and I liked video games and fun animations, so I naturally went to here.

Was told it is one of those AI free zones - 1st time in 2022, but websites original design put me off.

Was told about it again in same day i joined here - the same reason. It is AI free.

Both times was told about it in DA in topics, where people felt overwhelmed by the Ai-spam. I took the hint 2nd time around.

Otherwise the name did ring a bell from some time earlier in context of games, but back on those days my English was not good enough to join or use it.

Let's just say I discovered Newgrounds thanks to Newgrounds rumble, I was playing the game on Andkon arcade and I clicked the link in the game(which is in appearances during the character selection screen) which led to the site and rest is history.

I always knew Newgrounds was a website but never really knew what for until FNF happened and I decided to take a look. Ever since I've preferred this site over any other platform

To be honest, it's been quite a while since I found Newgrounds(I think it was around 2006-7). I might have stumbled across it while watching Madness Combat or old Egoraptor stuff. Hard to say. All I know is that Stickpage had Madness Combat on it and that may have led me here.

flash games and zone-tan

I think the first ever thing I found was of a guy with a skull running around with a chainsaw and having cover shooter mechanics. Then I kept coming back after seeing the words "newgrounds" multiple times over things that I enjoyed and on forum posts back then.

Not 100% sure, but I think my mom found it for me when looking up online games for me to play. Me and my cousin found SMBZ old series ep 3 on the front page, and from there it was history for me. I have a different older account that I interacted with submissions on before settling into this "professional" modern account. This is the account I use to upload my own sprite animations with...it's great to give back to the site that made me want to become a sprite animator in the first place :]

The Ultimate Showdown back in 2004, but I had no idea what else Newgrounds had to offer and so I didn't make an account until 2007.

I was searching flash games I used to play around 2010-2014 (mainly Fancy pants adventure, Papa Louie and other games). While searching, I found that site and since then I’m looking what was posted every weeks.

the funny beep-boop game. i was extremaly inveated tnto the gam. and bc its synonymus with NG i desided to lern about the website. i was a big fan of sr pelo before the game was made so i reconised the spooky bois. and did reconise a few charactersrs (tankman, castle crashers and alien hominid etc). i reserched the varius series lerned about them. i was invested. and 2 years later on new years day (not NYE, timezones) i made my account. and have been loving it here. im glad this is my first social media account

Pretty sure it was thanks to my older brother back in the mid-to-late 2000s, who mainly went here to play Alien Hominid. I also remember watching a lot of the old stick figure animations on here. Soon after that I was playing Windows parodies on Newgrounds for a bit, can't seem to remember the specific parody I played a lot of though beyond it being Vista themed and having a chat.

Back in 2019 I remember seeing a video about a guy talking about of under-rated art and that guy mentioned Newgrounds. A place where everyone can make anything but didn’t make an account here yet because Newgrounds accepted porn and I was scared to see that. Then a year later fnf became a thing and it reminded me again of Newgrounds, it looked cool but I was still afraid to go there because of porn. Then yet again a year later I made a account here, then a few months later I uploaded my first piece here.

Ok. This is gonna sound really bad, but you gotta understand what I use NG for now, ok. You know those porn edits where it's literally just cropped animated porn interrupted before anything actually gets shown. Yea those where fine at first but now Mentle has nearly 1 000 videos pretty much all following the same format. A N Y W A Y in the description to those videos he adds the creator, so me being a little rascal looked up the creator and found most of the videos where uploaded on NG. A lot of them where also uploaded on more "conventional" sites, but those made me feel more sorry for myself then using NG what with having actual porn.

Anyhoo that's why if I scroll to the bottom of my NG history it's a hell of lot of porn. But then I gradually started using the site for more than just porn and here I am :)

Dang! I truly don't remember when I first discovered Newgrounds. It feels like I've always known about it but I'm sure that's not the case. It probably has to be when I first started making games back when I was a little kid. I used to go to another forum called MochiMedia that had a suite of ad services for flash games. Perhaps from there, I ended up here, I'm not sure how it happened but the fact that it did makes me very happy because I truly love Newgrounds.
