This song is broken, and has been broken since at least 2008 according to the reviews.
The file I got downloading it was also corrupted.

I've filed a ticket for this now!
Not a bug, more a design flaw, but on mobile you can't go to the next/previous page of a submission's comments if it has a lot of pages: https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1541500
The forums use the same design and have a similar issue.
Is the delete icon suppose to be appear on images in News posts? This is what it looks like to me on my profile page.

I think so, yeah. I only have one news article to test it with, but the trashcan icon appears in the corner of the image I have posted as well, but because it's a lot bigger it doesn't take up basically all the space.
For regular users the icons look normal, though.
I'm getting three notifs instead of one for forum posts. Applies to replies to me directly and notifs for threads I'm subscribed to.

Yep, same issue on my end! I thought one individual was just spamming until I discovered all forum replies from today are acting the same way.

I'm seeing this now too, starting with your post here. Checking with Jim, he might have just pushed some changes over.

They're fixed now :)

We went ahead and removed the trashcans here, so people can enjoy their post the way everyone else sees it. Images can be removed via the edit form.
Hey I found a bizarre bug with the games portal.
I was trying to play a game that I recently published but instead of loading the game, it loaded an audio submission instead.
Here's a screenshot of this happening:
Here's the link to the game I was trying to play:
I encountered this bug in Firefox on my Windows 11 machine.
If you have any idea what could have caused this please let me know!

Out of curiosity I tried viewing the audio submission with the same number in the URL, and my game loaded instead of the audio!
Here's a screenshot of this happening:
Here's the link to the audio submission where this happened:
This is still on Firefox and Windows 11.
I noticed that both submissions have the number "82" and the ":" character in the titles.
Art with tags I blocked still showing up on the front page
I don't know how it happened but I got art of a character [that I cannot post in this thread] on my front page, and it has a tag I blocked on it, but it still shows up even after refreshing multiple times
I tried searching the tag to see if it was just me but when I clicked the exact tag they used, no results
So it's absolutely not just a typo
I will not elaborate on why I decided to block dandy's world as a tag
I have seen horrid things
im not a furry i swear

We don't currently apply user filters to the front page, doing so would put a lot of additional load on the page but might not be the end of the world if we didn't also try to backfill removed items.

I've now learned what Dandy's World is and have bulk deleted everything by one artist in particular.

I seem to have come across a bug wherein, if you edit an existing art submission, change the thumbnail image, and click "Publish Changes" without any other changes, the whole existing commentary underneath the art gets wiped out.
For example, I have this art submission from 2023 that I now wish to change the thumbnail of to remove the text.
Here is the submission before any change was made. Note the presence of a short commentary below the image.
I click the submission, click the edit button in the corner and proceed to upload a new thumbnail.
I now proceed to click "Publish Changes" at the bottom of the page and agree to the terms in the next screen. I have zoomed out the webpage to show I have not made any changes to the commentary section.
Going back to the Art section of my user page, I can see that the thumbnail change has been applied:
But clicking into the submission, I see that the commentary that was originally present has now been completely erased:
I had to go back to a cached version of the submission from my browser's history, copy the old commentary from there and paste it back into the edit window in order to restore it. I am posting this report to the thread mainly for people who do not realise this is happening until it is too late, and end up losing commentary from one of their submissions. I'm not sure if this happens in any other portals, or it applies to any change rather than just the thumbnail.

This was a bug we had after the big Art Portal update but I thought it was all resolved, making a ticket for it now.
the timelength isn’t the length it actually is, if that makes any sense

Filed a ticket for this.
I apologize if this has been brought up before, but the last couple pages of this thread don't seem to mention it.
I think tags on scheduled posts might be broken. I scheduled my Pixel Day entry to go live at midnight on the 23rd, and I've added several tags to it. Clicking on these tags or searching them works as expected; however, I don't see the Pixel Day entry I made anywhere in the list.
I used the "Detective" tag on the Pixel Day art and on a previous submission to the Art Portal I made months ago. When I search/click on that tag, the old art shows up. It wasn't scheduled to go live, just submitted when I finished it. But the Pixel Day one is still missing.
And just to see if it was this submission in particular, I looked at other things I had scheduled to go live. It turns out that all of those submissions don't show up when their tags are searched. This goes back to at least August 25, 2024, and possibly further, but I don't recall if I scheduled anything before then.

This has been an ongoing bug that hasn't been solved yet, it's expected that it will get resolved as our back-end framework changes over to the new system in those instances.
For now the best way to fix it is to remove and re-add a tag; editing the tags should refresh them in the search system.
For a bit of context:
- Accounts get marked as "Artists" when the user uploads something to Newgrounds. From that point forward their Blog/News Posts show up in the Artist News.
- In certain cases, accounts can have all of their uploads removed. Either because their uploads were unpublished by the moderation team, or because it was blammed, or by their own user's hand.
As far as I can tell, even if an account has no publicly associated submissions anymore, the system currently does not "un-mark" prior "Artists" automatically as far as the Artist News are concerned.
I'd say that this behavior is a bug and it gives spam accounts who broke the rules "undeserved attention" that would normally go to more relevant topics.
(I noticed this issue about one or two months ago, but "stuff happened". My apologies if this has been fixed independently in the meantime.)

If we want to really narrow things down we could base it on scouted status, especially if we introduce scouting for movies and games.
There's a chance that blog posting will become a Supporter feature for anyone who isn't a scouted artist in the future. This might be necessary as AI posters become more common (just this week OpenAI introduced a new AI tool that you can unleash in a web browser) but it would also make the blog space more digestible / better quality.
It would appear that the area for writing comments, specifically after it is clicked, is resizable. This seems to be possible on both new and edited comments.
I don't remember that being present before, and I know that other text areas (like the one I'm writing in now) aren't resizable. Nevertheless, it does lead to odd text scrolling and it can be stretched indefinitely downwards/right.
(^ this image isn't zoomed in, the comment area scrolled to the right)
I'm not certain if this is a bug, but I looked around a little and didn't see anything about this being normal
What is a man!
for some reason, all the videos I have saved in 'other favorites' send me to amazon with the link to the videos in the amazon search tab, forcing me to have to copy and paste it into the actual search bar
I took a video of it, cause I didn't think images really showed the issue very well

I also find that annoying, but it has been a thing since at least 2011. My assumption so far was that NG either gets a cut for the referral if any sales are made through such a link or so SEO-spam accounts have a harder time plastering the site with illicit links.
From what I can tell, not a lot of users use that space one way or the other, though.
My quick and dirty workaround is copying the lists users write and pasting them into a .txt-file, which strips away the links.

This goes back to when people bought physical media for games, movies and music, the hope was NG could pick up some referral revenue from the links. It never amounted to much and should get stripped out at this point. The question then is if let people fill in links for everything, link to something else by default, or remove the feature entirely.
At 1/27/25 07:17 AM, TomFulp wrote:['Free-form favorites' on user profiles]

So far I have added the url as part of an entry as pure text but I rarely had reason to do so. Usually for podcasts, free webcomics, a browsergame, or videos (legally!) hosted on YouTube. (This is what it looks like. [search for "@" to highlight])
While providing direct links would be more convenient, my faith in humanity has dwindled too much for me to confidently say stuff like "people can take care of their digital self-defense themselves." If they have to copy & paste a text, at least they will have a look at the url provided to them.
Linking to Wikipedia by default would probably result in users complaining that their unique wording isn't at least a Wikipedia redirect. Some of those users would do their complaining on Wikipedia - potentially ruining NG's reputation over there the way GD's reputation is ruined over here. ;p

Like so many other thing that never gain a lot of traction, I liked the feature as a form of personal expression. But I doubt that many users even know it's there.
Spoken as somebody who spend a lot of time filling their lists: If less than 1% of the accounts who made it to user level 3 have no entries there, it's probably safe to remove the feature. (Unlike use, you can ask the database server for a statistic.)
In doubt users could create and update News Posts (or Playlists) with that information.
As I said: I personally think it's a nice feature, but it's not NG's responsibility to provide what are ultimately advertisements for off-site content - no matter how generous Mr. Fulp is feeling today or how beloved that content is.
