If I happen to come across more that load either White or black screen I'll test with ruffle and post here.

wheni have a time I've been revisiting some old games or movies . If they have loading issues or some other issue where they load and still don't work with ng player should i report those.

You are supposed to test flash games with Ruffle, and tell if they work or not.

Cathode Raybots does not work in Ruffle yet, but - it's so TANTALIZINGLY close to working fully ('cuz I believe bitmapData stuff for Ruffle is in development) that I wanted to bring it up here anyway, this'll be a cool one to get working.

Right now the two issues with it in Ruffle are:

• bitmapData not being fully supported yet. The allegiance selection screen is purple (Is that a bitmapData issue?) and the Raybot Files have no thumbnails for the User Creations.
• The NG API. Trying to play any campaign or a boss from Raybot Files just has the game hang on the flickering Earth loading transition.

Other than those two things, the rest of the game works perfectly fine as its AS2. Even drawing a face on a custom Raybot.

I feel like bitmapdata is getting close.. The menu screen has blend mode effects that still need to be supported. I'm a bit nervous about the API issues though, I think we still need to address API games being able to pass certain info over with tightened browser security.

Tom i always forget what the fuck the URL is to test something in flash.

Would it be possible to integrate a button next to the "Launch in Newgrounds Player" that says "Launch/Test in Ruffle Player"?

A link like that would definitely be handy! For now you can add "/format/flash?emulate=flash" to the end of URLs to test.

HERES A idea tom fulp how about like where you can make your own flash content BUT it would be hard to make tho

The preloader for Synopsis stalled due to issues unrelated to the errors I noticed in the developer's console.

The remaining errors appear to be the heart sprite is broken, and the ending misses some videos (Likely the error originally reported in the console). The laser puzzle might also be broken as it seemed solved when I entered the room the first time.

Also, I likely will not be writing much more here due to other things taking priority.

i don't wanna join the testing / preservation crew, and you've at least tried this on another browser, but have you tried on virtual machines? other browsers? wayback machines?

Both of these games are waiting on AS3 support in Ruffle, which has been making steady progress but a lot of foundational work needs to be done before even the simplest AS3 stuff starts working.

I went ahead and enabled Ruffle on these, if you have any others, you should see a checkbox on the project details form to Enable Ruffle Emulation - it appears underneath where you see the SWF file.

It doesn't even start and is stuck on the loading screen, even without the "?emulate=flash" command.

I've disabled Ruffle on this, it's using AS3 so it can't get past the preloader screen yet.

The game of Skincraft does not work, stating this since it seems to have AS3.

It looks like the second episode of the Brackenwood series is "broken" due to having to choose a quality setting before playing? The way you get past it for now is by clicking on "go to Bitey's Castle.com" or whatever after the error message pops up.

It also seems like most of the Brackenwood series is indeed broken as well :v

Are you getting stuck on the quality selector itself, or are you getting stuck on the screen afterwards, where it says you aren't viewing the movie on Newgrounds?

The problem with these is that they hardcoded http:// in the URL check and the SWF files have likely never worked ever since NG switched to https. At some point I think Ruffle might accommodate this sort of thing by checking for https variants, I should check with Mike on that.

And I see ! It stinks because even the movie that Adam has on his website that was from Newgrounds doesn't work for Last of the Dashkin, and Youtube utterly butchers the quality on it ^^;

Also, I couldn't get any of the other ones to work besides that workaround for that *one*

Fun fact, when I was 6 or 7 years old I thought Newgrounds was what you used to author Flash content and I wanted an account for that reason lol
