That and licensing. You can cover or remix any freaking song you want and upload it here without the original artist's permission via licensing because copyright laws say so. As far as I know, covers of any copyrighted song, huge no-no. You still have to have mechanical licenses to publish the work and make any monetary gain from it.

Looking at obtaining mechanical license, it's virtually impossible to do that if you use samples of the original copyrighted work, so keep that in mind when flagging here. I think that's what I was originally going to say but I wrote that before I laid down for a nap, lol.
