So good luck finding those song IDs, unless they're placed in-game (I wouldn't know). But he's been made aware of these issues with the API and unscouted artists being able to use songs in Geometry Dash.
I'll tell you what. Song ID 208372 please see if that's still usable in GD. If it is, contact Tom.
Well whadda y'know...
And yes, all song info is stored on the Geometry Dash servers. If a level uses a song, it's info is stored on the servers forever and never updates to match the NG page. But, if the song info can't be found, the song will never download even with hacks. So if GD uses the song info directly on Newgrounds instead of downloading it like it does now, that might stop banned songs from being usable.
Also, these IDs also work:
600915 (TheLivingTombstone FNAF2 song, whatever it's called)
594191 (Rap God by Eminem)
And, you could probably tell by the ID, but these submissions are OLD. Like from 2014-2015.
That's messed up.
Well, I suppose we just gotta be quick to catch stuff, and here's to hoping someone can get through to RobTop about downloading stuff and keeping it on his servers.
When I say song info, it doesn't include the song itself, only things like file size, song ID, title, and author. But yeah, someone should definitely warn RobTop about storing song info on the servers, especially if it's part of the reason a handful of stolen songs can still work. I believe it was only like this in the first place to optimize level browsing.
