A lot of the tracks with "spotify" or "deezer" links turn out to rely solely or heavily on pre-made sounds like stock loops, sound packs, etc. Your music identifier tool seems to be good at spotting those.

I think it's less the specific app and more the database it pulls from. AHA uses ACR Cloud, which seems to be trying to eat Shazam's market share for song hunting. The identification of stock loops may be why I get so many false flags on entries and end up having to do side-by-side confirmation. Once in a while it can't identify from a sample of the first 10 seconds, so I click around in the submission and end up with 2 or 3 potential sources.

Is there a firefox version of that extension ?

I would give Songifier a run to see how it is. I can't vouch for it personally, as I haven't used Firefox in a dedicated fashion for quite a while, but it uses the ACR Cloud database. The downside to the Firefox extensions I looked into are that they still rely on microphone input like Shazam does, which means having to play it out loud. The AHA extension on Chrome detects music playing in the tab (see below/probably at expense of personal privacy, it is Chrome...) so I can have my headphones on and microphone disabled.

I have noticed that after a while the extension can mess up playback of audio and video in both NG and whatever source link I click through, which results in me disabling/re-enabling the extension with a page refresh. AHA seems to be a memory hog like everything Chrome does.

This is the first time in a while I've seen the audio flag backlog completely cleared out. So before it's flooded again, I want to say

Me and topboy @oolaph actually had a bit of a KKB marathon last week. They're actually pretty great imo, but Flamingo is from their debut mixtape and not representative of their overall quality, I don't know why it's so popular.

Their album Bonito Generation is a significant improvement, and more recently they've gone in a completely different direction on their new EP with a slightly experimental punk sound and more somber lyrics. The EP is excellent imo, especially the track Only Acting followed by You Know How It Is, I've gotten a lot of replays out of it already. About time! A lot of these songs are new to me, and spotify refuses to work for some reason, so getting the sources to play has been whack. In most cases, instead of pasting a link, @Peregrinus, you can just type out the name and artist, or a video title for memes.

Also good job team -- because I couldn't recognize some of these, not to mention find all of them, myself, and that was a huge backlog!

I may keep doing the links to keep myself honest. If I just put the title then that's the extra legwork for someone else to go and find what sometimes is an obscure link to Deezer or Spotify. Sounds good. I was trying to minimize the post-hoarding by keeping the batch around 25. I found that when caught up/not a weekend/have the energy, 25ish covers the full day. I actually don't mind if the older posts are purged out once all the submission have been dealt with, if clutter becomes an issue.

Would you mind typing title and artist before your links? I really do have issues with spotify reports, but I've never been unable to find something with title and artist unless it's suuuuper obscure.

For common songs you see a lot, title and artist should be sufficient. We all recognize them within the first two seconds, like as not.

Tbh when I see more than 10 users in a single post I'm going to have to click through the song, check the source, then investigate the whole account and finally ban, I start sweating LOL. Thanks for the info. I'll give a check to songifier and dig for other similar software.
The reliance on mic input it's kind of a deal breaker to me, but maybe there are some other alternatives.
Pre-made stuff libraries are huge, it's hard to keep track of them all navigating by memory. x__x

So there's an easy 7 flags, which took about 15 mins (including typing out the post and prepping supper). You don't need an extension to help clean out the AP, but a few flags a day of obviously stolen content chips away at the continuous battle. It's going to be busier as Summer approaches. Newgrounds' main draw is the animation portal, and that's a core value of the site's history. It's been asked a few times over the years (and I like the unified experience/voting idea), but it is likely as a means of continuing to keep that portal visible. The portal moves much slower than it did when I joined, both in number of submission but also in how long submissions take to go through Judgement phase. Expanding voting to all portals would be nice for the user, but could result in submissions taking 24+ hours to clear judgement.

I'd more say that your average user can't see points, and mods can't just look at your profile and see points. We do see how much weight your flags have when you flag something; it's just a function so we know who has put in work (accurately) when we're looking at a huge list of content, and who has an iffy history. A lot of times we get people who will abuse the system to fling curse words at us (or the author), or thinking they can flag stuff just because it doesn't work in GD.

One day someone flagged MY songs because I banned them. That was great.

Also, none of us really knows how many flags it takes per level, but if you're sitting at normal, one bad flag can take you down to garbage, @Agg1. That's not to say your rep immediately hits zero, but the weight of your flag is reduced. Get a lot of bad flags at garbage, and we won't even see your flags because they won't register any weight. Get a lot of good flags, and your flags carry more weight. You'll start ascending up from bronze, to silver, to gold, to deity. Deity can be achieved in as little as a month with hard work, I believe.

It kinda makes me sad in a way. The best source of flags is the audio portal, and I'm an audio mod. LOL.

This is actually the project Jim has been working on for a while now, when it goes live it will involve updating over 230 individual files so hopefully nothing explodes!
