Sorry for not being around. I already told you in a PM that I was really busy with college stuff and everything. I haven't watched any horror related films in a long time, but hopefully I will end up watching something here pretty soon.

I wouldn't mind seeing the movie A haunting in Connecticut. (I think that's what it's called) It's based on a true story, but from what I've seen that's a pretty messed up true story. D:

I'll try to look up some other good horror movies to download that I haven't seen yet within the next couple of weeks.

That is so weird, because I was just looking at A Haunting in Connecticut in my local video store. I didn't rent it last time, but I probably will next time I go.

This weekend I went to see the remake of Friday the Thirteenth, which was really cool, but not as good as the originals. It was a remake of the first three films. I'd give the remake maybe a 7 or a 7.5/10

Anyways, after the movie I went to the mall. First, at FYE I bought Tokyo Gore Police, which was an amazing splatter film, with over exaggerated blood flows & enough blood to rival Peter Jackson's Braindead. The plot was an all out war between the Tokyo Police and the engineers, who could regenerate a cooler version of any body part that has been cut off or injured severely. It was also very funny, with a good amount of random funny commercials, much like Starship Troopers. With a running time of nearly 2 hrs of nonstop action, I'd give this film a 9/10.

Next, I went to SunCoast and after searching through their selection for quite a while I stumbled upon Meatball Machine! I bough that Japanese splatter film with as much anticipation as TGP. I also recall a post by Sekhem quite a while ago for this movie, but I don't remember what it was. Anyways, this movie was great chop full of gore, coinciding with a pretty interesting blood. This movie had much straight up action, with plenty of epic fights. Alien parasites take over depressed humans in this movie and have them fight each other to the death. They can materialize creative weapons & can take plenty of punishment. These fights are all done for the entertainment of far off aliens in a space ship. This movie had a good amount of gore, but wasn't all that realistic. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this movie from start to finish. I'd give Meatball Machine a 8/10.

I found Absurd(Anthropophagus 2) and Nightmares in a Damaged Brain online. I will order them most likely within the week, and then I want to see; Ruggero Deodato's Cut & Run, Cannibal Apocalypse, the Hershel Gordon Lewis movie collection, including Blood feast & Wizard of Gore, and either Traces of Death or Faces of Gore, both of which are supposedly gorier than Faces of Death. I also might soon watch August Underground's Mordum on Google videos, even though the quality is bad & I'm not all to excited about the film. The only real reason I want to see it is because of all the hype on the gore. Google videos also has I Spit on Your Grave, if anyone is interested.

You'll end up seeing it before me probably. Tell me if it's as good as it looks. I really do hope it is.

Hm, I never really got into those for some reason. The only Jason movie that I really did get into was the one where Freddy and Jason were fighting. The only reason that I liked that movie was because of the humor that Freddy brings.

Perhaps I might watch it. I use to love Starship Troopers. I use to watch the cartoon version as a kid all of the time and the movie was really good the first time that I saw it. I think they did make sequels, but I never saw them before.

Jeez, you have all of these movies that I've never heard of.

Hm, doesn't really sound like a movie that I would be too interested in watching. I never really get into shows that have aliens in them. Even though when I was younger I use to love the Alien series. Tastes do change as you get older though.

Ha, man never saw anything like this, but if you wouldn't mind could you link to some of the videos that you can watch online that you talked about?

Also, I need a really good zombie or ghost movie (preferably not too old) to download for the weekend. I haven't seen a good horror movie in awhile. Any recommendations?

I'm so happy you said that! Robert Englund(Freddy Krueger) is my favorite actor by far. I will watch a movie solely because Englund is in it. Therefore, you can see how upset I was when I found out that the remake of Nightmare On Elm Street is not using him to play as Freddy Krueger! I will still have to see it though, because I am a huge NOES fan, but Enlgund is still playing in movies left and right. E.X. 2001 Maniacs, Zombie Strippers, and Dance of the Dead. He also had a cameo in Hatchet.

*Never saw Braindead*

Luckily for you Peter Jackson's gore classic Braindead is right on youtube. The entire movie! I saw a different version on their before I bought the film, so this might be cut a little, but I doubt it. Here it is!

Braindead part 1
Braindead part 2
Braindead part 3
Braindead part 4
Braindead part 5
Braindead part 6
Braindead part 7
Braindead part 8
Braindead part 9
Braindead part 10

I accidentally did this twice, so I hope you enjoy!!!

I hadn't heard of them until recently. I wouldn't know about the majority of the horror films I've seen if it wasn't for this site!

If you want to see the world's goriest movies, Here is a link to Faces of Death, and Here is all the gore scenes from Flowers of Flesh and Blood the goriest movie ever! If you can stomach that Here is a link to Ruggero Deodato's classic Cannibal Holocaust! I'm having trouble finding I Spit On Your Grave, so I'll post that and August Underground's Mordum on my next post. Enjoy the carnage thus far!!!

OK. A new good zombie movie... Ah, I got it! Dairy of the Dead! This is definitely the best zombie film of the decade by far. It pales in comparison to Lucio Fulci's masterpiece Zombi 2, from 79', however it is still one of my favorite movies! Here is the infamous eye gouging scene from Zombi 2. Here is a link to more carnage from the film, including the amazingly real zombie vs shark scene!!!

I hope you enjoy all of the new gore!!!

Just throwing this out there, but has anyone seen Martyrs? It's a foreign film made recently I think...

Anyway, it's the last good horror movie I've seen in a while, and I suggest it to any fans of the genre. It's a little over the top but really disturbing. It's also probably easier to find online, since it's foreign and all.

I suggest watching it without reading any reviews or summaries of it, since that might ruin the whole flow. So yeah... check it out. :D

I'd like to apologize to you for being so inactive, but as I let you know I hadn't had the time to actually do anything horror related so I didn't have anything to post in the club. Luckily I found some time this weekend to watch some movies.

Here are the list of movies that I will post and review here. I'll review one a night so that will be a post for every movie. :)

28 Weeks Later
Amuzement
30 Days of Night
Quarantine
Dannie Darko (I don't know if this is spelled right. I also don't know if it's horror, but I think it's the best place for it)

So first I'll review Dannie Darko. Again, I don't know if it's spelled right.

I personally thought it was a great movie. Something that kept me very interested and it was one of those movies that you really had to watch closely to understand it. Also, if you watch it several times you find a lot of information and clues in the movie that you may have missed before. Not really scary, but just a really good movie all together. It's basically about time travel. The whole thing is one big paradox and I don't plan on giving away any spoilers so that's basically all I'm going to talk about it. I really do recommend watching it though and I give it a 10/10.

ahh yeah I still have yet to see this, I watched [REC] a couple weeks ago though (its the original spanish version) and it was really good, so I'd like to see how the american remake compares

I wouldn't mind watching that you that you mention. They mention it at the end of Quarantine in the credits.

So if it was good then I wouldn't mind seeing it. Is it in English?

Rob Zombie makes some of my favorite horror films, I really loved House of 1000 corpses and Devils Rejects, they're just so brutal its awesome. His remake of halloween was pretty good too but halfway through it started getting kinda generic, the beginning was fucked up though. Speaking of rob zombie I'm kinda looking for some movies that are similar in style to his, especially ho1kc and devils rejects, any recommendations?

Other than the ones that you have mention I don't think I know of any others. I've probably watched some before, but I can't think of them at this moment.

So another night another review from me like I promised. Since we are talking about quarantine then I guess I'll review that now.

My personal opinion on the submission was that it was pretty good. I like the hand held camera style instead of the traditional movie style. Was the REC movie like this also? They really build up quite well and it reminds me of something that would happen in real life. Like always I'm not going to spoil anything by saying what's going on, but I really did enjoy this movie a lot. Wouldn't mind seeing something else like this. 9/10

Hey, I'm glad you had time to see some more horror films. I've also seen Donnie Darko recently, and I loved it. The plot, though confusing, was very inventive. The atmosophere in this movie mixed together with the great acting was a recipe for a new age classic!

I haven't seen Amuzement or Quarantine, so I can't wait to hear your reviews. I own 30 Days Of Night, but for some reason I haven't watched it yet, so I'll eventually see that regardless of its review rating.

I've seen quite a few new horror films recently too, which I'll soon post reviews for. Since 3/11/09 I've seen The Monster Squad, Virus, P2, Trackman, The V Word, Absurd (Anthropophagous 2), Sounds Like, The Church, THe Wizard of Gore (original), Drive-thru, Die Screaming Marianne, Last House on the Left remake, Are You Scared, Washingtonians, CAtacombs, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Suicide Club, House by the Cemetery, Nightmares in a damaged Brain, The Prowler, Deadly Spawn, and Pieces.

I know it is quite a lot, but first off I saw Drive-Thru on Fearnet, Absurd, THe Wizard of Gore, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Suicide Club, House by the Cemetery, and Pieces online. Next, Virus, P2, and Are You scared are my sisters. Also, The V Word, Sounds Like, and Washingtonians are part of my Masters of Horror season 2 set that I got for Christmas. I've had the Church for a while, but I just hadn't felt like watching it until recently. Same with Catacombs, which was a gift from the end of last year.
Therefore, the only ones I actually bought were The Monster Squad, TrackMan, Die Screaming Marianne (which was really part of a Pete Walker quadruple feature), Nightmares in a Damaged Brain, The Prowler, and Deadly Spawn.

Nightmares in a Damaged Brain is a movie that I had been looking to see since last month when Funkybob wrote his review for it. I found it on a website that sold it together with The Prowler, Deadly Spawn, and Maniac together for $12.00! I had already owned Manaic, but it was well worth the price to buy it again. THe only problem was they were not factury sealed. Instead, they were all converted from VHS or tv rip-offs. Though I usually don't buy movies without their cases, it was still nice to see these films. I will eventually write a review for each of them.

Now, If anyone has actually read all of that dribble, here is the reward, which you may find much more interesting. Two weeks ago I went with my friend to see the Last House on the Left remake in theaters! I had been looking forward to this movie for over a year and I couldn't wait to see how it compared to the original. At first, I was excepting a very toned down film, but what I saw was brutal and shoking! Though it didn't follow Wes Craven's master piece to the key, this film definately took on a life of its own. I thought it was amazing. The deaths were creative, the atmosphere was very clastrophobic, giving the movie an overall intense feel. This was definaetly my favorite horror movie remake thus far, and I would love to go see it again, even though I probably won't get another chance to see it until it comes out on theaters. If you are a fan of the original, or you just want to go see a really great horror flick, Dennis Iliadis' remake will not disappoint!!!

Well I'll review 30 Days of Night here at the end of my post. It's actually called Amusement, but that was my fault. I thought it was something different.

Alright, this is night three so here is review three from me. Like I said above it's going to be for 30 Days of Night. Personally I thought this movie was amazing. It has the gorey side for people who love blood and it has the survivalist side for people like me who love to watch survival. Great film all around and just really done well. Like most films it could have had a better ending in my opinion, but the movie itself was just all around great. Something that I would watch two nights in a row and enjoy it the second time around just as much.

10/10

The Prowler
I know I watched this before, but I just can't seem to remember what it was about.

It was a slasher film with special effects by Tom Savini. Do you recall the finale head explosion by shotgun scene? It was about a guy who was fighting in I think the Vietnam war, and his girlfriend left him in a letter, so he comes back and starts killing people at the college ball where she went. Her name was Rose, so he leaves a rose on all of the dead bodies.

Now, If anyone has actually read all of that dribble, here is the reward, which you may find much more interesting.
I've read it all and it sounds like something I'm going to have to watch sometime soon.

Before you watch any of those I can't stress how much I reccomend Tokyo Gore Police. It is the kind of movie that you can watch everyday for weeks and never get bored. Though it is 2 hrs long, it leaves you begging for more. The amount of sheer splatter gore is the most I have ever scene, for I believe it even suprasses Peter Jackson's Braindead! There is not one part of the human body in that movie that is not destroyed and replaced with a deadly weapon in this over the top hilarious gore fest of a movie. Now I can't wait to see Philosophy of a Knife(very disturbing), Anthropophagous 2000(ok back to laughing), and Premuntos: Lord of the Living Dead(still laughing), with an equal amount of gore.

This movie sounds awesome to meespecially, because I'm currently reading the Zombie Survival Guide, which is all about that "how to survive in extreme sitiuations" aspect except it is zombies instead of vampires. I am currently on vacation during spring break, so I will watch it as soon as I get home. I had actually forgotten about this movie, so I'm really glad that you reminded me of it.

By the way, back at my website, in the horror section, I posted four videos, that each browse through a quarter of my horror collection. If you watch it & stumble across anything of interest I'll be happy to write a review. Note: These vids are missing around ten of my movies. There are also three non-horror movies mixed in, 300, Rambo, and the Weird Al Yankovic movie UHF.

Also, how is the Ghost/supernat. club going? I'd like to start getting involved in their again!

Welcome back to the club. It's been so long since you've been around here. I've recently seen AUM too. It was that kind of movie, where I think it needed that one view, and I probably won't watch it again, unless a friend really wants to see it. That movie was so disturbing. I was able to sit through it, but I felt like "Why did I just do that?" afterwards! lol. Once you think about it though it wasn't really that gory. I'm not sure if I'll include it in my 50 goriest movie slide show that I'll post on You tube in two months. I still have to see Philsophy of a Knife, Anthropophagous 2000, Premuntos: Lord of the Living Dead, and Faces of Gore. I also want to get the Hershell Gordon Lewis collection first, and also Ebola Syndrome & Cut and Run. The only reason I'm willing to wait to see so many movies is because my b-day is coming up soon, so I'll ask for a bunch of horror films. I might see Aftermath/Genesis first too.

Watched Zombie Creeping Flesh aka Hell Of The Living Dead aka Virus.

A surprisingly good Italian zombie film. The music and character's SWAT uniforms have been taken from Dawn of the Dead. It's full of stock footage as well. Pretty good zombie make up though. Tons of cheap, low budget gore as well.

I saw a movie called Nightbreed last saturday. It was about creepy looking people who live in the cemetary that have superpowers. i didn´t fully understand the plot, but it was decent. There was a cool scene where a guy ripped his face off though.

Again, sorry for the inactivity, but college keep me busy. I'll move onto my quick review of 28 Weeks Later and then I'll move on to something else tomorrow night if I remember to.

So I felt 28 Weeks Later was done pretty well. Almost generic, but not quite generic as it had some nice additions to the common zombie type movie. There was one scene where it showed how scary a virus like this would be and how it could spread out over almost an entire population within a minute. Decent story line and plot. They set it up for another one if they wanted to and I have a feeling they will come out with 28 Months Later. They'll probably finish off the series with 28 Years Later while their at it. O.o

I'd give it a 8/10 because I always like the movies that give me my survivalist fix.

It's fine. I can't wait to here the review for Amusement. I saw it at FYE & it looked sick.

28 Days and Weeks later are two of the best mainstream zombie films. I hope they do make a months later, because I didn't get the chance to see either of the first two in theaters, so I'd like to go see a new one.

I'd give it a 8/10 because I always like the movies that give me my survivalist fix.

Many slasher films also give me that survivalist fix, especially the new Horror fest 8 films to die for film, Autopsy. The acting is great, along with the hospital atmosphere, since it is set in a real hospital. All of the murder instruments in the movie are real and could have actually been used on the operations of actual patients. The movie probably makes my top 20 or 15 goriest, making it the goriest Horror fest film, passing the French film Frontier(s). I highly recommend this movie. It delivers with jump scares, intense gore, a survivalist fix, and great acting. It also has a nice little sci-fi element mixed in for good fun! See this movie and you won't want to visit a new hospital any time soon. Strongly recommended. The Horror fest season is very popular, and this film can be found almost anywhere from $14-16 depending on where you shop. 8.5/10. Here is a trailer

Sorry for the inactivity again, but college can do that to you. So I still have a lot of movies to catch up and as promised I will review them here until I'm done with them. Only one at a time though. I want to keep the suspense up. :P

Amusement - Wasn't too bad. I really didn't enjoy it too much and really couldn't get into the movie that much, but it wasn't too bad of a movie at all. None of the parts scared me at all, but some were pretty cool and there was a good scene in the movie with a clown. So if you don't like clowns and you want to avoid being traumatized by them then avoid this film. I don't think it's something that I would re-watch ever again, but probably worth watching at least once.

Any chance I could join?
I love horror movies, my DVD drawer and my Netflix queue are full of them. Some horror movies I've recently seen are Ted Bundy (wasn't very good) and the original Evil Dead (slightly hilarious, but you know). I'm soon getting "Men Behind The Sun" and "Philosophy of a Knife" which I heard are more gorefests then anything else but I'll bite.

Hey it would be great to have another member in this club. We aren't the most active club around, but with a few more members we could become pretty active. This is by far one of my favorite clubs so I hope that you do join and contribute.

To join all you have to do is post your top 15 favorite horror films.

Alright:

Halloween (Rob Zombie Version)
Devils Rejects
Botched
The Hills Have Eyes
The Descent
Carrie
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
Hatchet
Wicked Little Things
(Not really sure if this is horror but...) 28 Days/Weeks Later
Shaun of the Dead (I like myself a bit of Dark Humor)
30 Days of Night
Dawn of the Dead
The Hamiltons
Rest Stop

Can't really put them in a specific order, but those are my top 15. Unless Shaun of the Dead gets counted as more of a comedy, then I'll replace it with:

Shrooms

Actually, just thought of this one, replace Shrooms/Shaun of the Dead with It.

Glad to have another member. I would definately recomend Men Behind the Sun to you. As for Philosophy of a Knife, I haven't seen it yet, but I asked for it for my birthday coming up. That movie surpassed Braindead(Dead-Alive), as the goriest movie ever made. I would get it if I were you. Hope to see you around.

There is a horror clown movie that I just found out about (I think it's from 2007), that is supposed to be pretty intense. It is called 100 Tears, and it is probably worth checking out.

Judging by this review I just found of it, it sounds like quite the body count movie.
Here's the review in question:

"Most reviewers are correct in their stating of the high body count, guts galore and dismembered heads and body parts present here but that is not why I enjoyed this flick. Those goodies were okay but what I really enjoyed was the banter between the so called reporters of a crappy Tabloid, the inept police detectives and some of the Carny folks. The talk between the reporters was pretty funny and I am sure the actors had trouble keeping a straight face during certain scenes. There is some toilet talk in this that was pretty funny in a juvenile way but you will have to see it to understand it. There is a cool Midget chasing scene and that little sucker could run fast! Pay attention to the Mags that the Midget is reading in his bedroom because the titles of a few are for true fetish freaks. The detectives are incredibly inept and I have to wonder if the director, producer and screenwriter were arrested at one point in their lives and their portrayal of them is a way of getting back at the law enforcement community hehe. Throw in a bit of a sad love story and this is a fun flick even for being low budget. I recommend this for fans of clowns, midgets and the fetish Mag Toes and Hose."

Sorry for the double post but I just found an old (not very old, but you know) gem called "Hard Candy". I don't know if you guys have seen it yet, but I recommend it.
This is a sadistic thriller starring Ellen Page of "Juno" fame. Although this movie premiered before it, when I first saw it I assumed it would suck, because I hate Ellen Page. But slowly the movie started to grow on me. I give this an 8/10.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Although the movie starts off slow, Jeff Kohlver (Patrick Wilson) begins preying on young Hayley Stark (Ellen Page) whom he met through the internet. In the beginning they mostly just talk, but soon Hayley discovers his picture collection of young girls he forcibly made strip and then took pictures of. Already Jeff has in his mind he's going to do the same to Hayley, but Hayley has plans for him.
After awhile of them becoming friends at Jeff's photo studio, Jeff finally decides to invite Hayley over to his private residence. Upon arrival Hayley begins her work. I won't say anymore, mostly because I can't remember most of it, but there are severed genitalia, that much I remember.

I might have to check out that clown movie if I ever run across from it. Sounds like it would be good enough.

Welcome to the new member. Hopefully this new activity can keep the club alive.

I've reviewed all of the movies that I said I would awhile back so I'll review some newer ones that I have watched recently. I'll do Haunting in Connecticut tonight.

Haunting in Connecticut - This is probably the best that a PG-13 movie can get in terms of horror films. I was actually scared while watching this movie every now and then. Movies tend not to scare me anymore, but this one had it's moments for sure. It had the weird/creepy parts, which I tend to really like in scary movies and it also had a lot of jumpers/screaming moments which made you jump automatically almost. Some were placed in perfect spots too in which you wouldn't expect, but at the same time they had the generic jumpers that I was ready for. Even better that it was based on a true story. I'm going to have to check on the real story sometime and see what it's all about. I recommend this movie as I enjoyed it.

9.5/10

I went to the movies a few weeks ago, but I went to The Last House on the Left remake instead of HIC. My sister went to see H.I.C, and said it was awesome, so I'll definatly see it when it comes out on dvd. (On a side note, the dog bark in the Friday the 13th remake made me jump out of my seat!)lol.

Yeah, I really want to check this out, because I am expecting something along the lines of Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat, with the inept cops & extreme gore. I saw the trailer and it loods really cool.

As for Hard Candy, I haven't seen it, but I'll look into it.

Another movie on my agenda to see is Cut and Run. It is a Ruggero Deodato film that came after his prime(Cannibal Holocaust). Still, it is supposed to be a pretty cool movie, featuring Michael Berryman, from Hills Have Eyes, as the demented killer in the jungle.

Ha, I bring to you Zombie Strippers.

I personally thought the movie was funny. It wasn't really suppose to be scary or anything like that anyway. It was cheesy and bad to the point that it was good. Kind of like the way Postal was. It was obviously made bad on purpose. Some parts made me laugh, some parts made me go OHHHH or WTF, but overall a good funny movie. Probably not worth the watch though so don't go out of your way or ever pay to see this thing. :P

7/10 for a comedy and a 2/10 for a horror film.
