We certainly do. Every time I hear Pantera I wanna hit someone in the face. I think that any band that makes me feel like that is a damn good metal band.

Then they moved more into groove metal and ugh. *shrug*

When the hell did that happen? Can you provide names of singles\albums?

If words were wisdom, I'd be talking even more.

Reinventing The Steel was a breed between thrash and groove metal, so it sounded.

From what I've heard of that album the only thing that sets the album apart from others is that it's much heavier. Maybe I haven't heard the groovish songs. Anyway what's wrong with experimenting? Do you prefer bands like Immortal which barely change over the years?

Vulgar Display of Power, Cowboys from Hell and Far Beyond Driven are the only Pantera albums I feel like listening to. Pretty good, but not that special.

I love Immortal, but I also like experimenting as well. Just, some bands should stick to a sound they're good at.

WOOOOOOOO.

Just got back from the In Flames, Chimaira and Engulfed concert. Fucking best thing i've ever been to (as you may be able to tell, i havent been to many concerts).

Engulfed played a pretty good set, but the crowd just wasnt really into them, we'd only just gotten in (the line was fairly long) so only got to hear about 3 songs from them. Chimaira kicked ass, they got the crowd going, played some good metal, and just kicked ass, i got hit in the face during one of their songs, but it didnt phase me at all, and finishing off their set list was Power Trip, which everyone in the mosh pit went fucking nuts to, it was great.

After a bit of time passed where we could all cool off and rehydrate, In Flames came out and rocked our world. Episode 666 went fucking crazy, best fucking thing ever. Clayman went right off too, and so did most of their stuff actually.

I was on such an adrenaline high after the concert i ran 2 kms to my sisters place (where im stayng in melbourne right now) from the train station.

Added bonus, i kissed this Sigourny chick i met after Chimaira finished off. Lovin it.

Oh. Your. God.

That happened about 10 months ago :) Well, they already replaced him, but I don't know who....well, as long as Alexi doesn't stop, the band will go on.

They replaced Alexander with Roope Latavala (spelling?), member of legendary Finnish thrash outfit Stone, and side-member of Sinergy with Alexi. They've already had two tours with Roope. :P

Grrrrrr.....

This probably wont upset alot of you as much as me, or matbe even not at all.

But a couple of weeks I heard Mushroomhead broke up......

I was just wondering does anybody know why?

Ohmygods, Roope is FAR FAR better than Alexander, in my opinion. He can hold the rhythm for longer; Alex would break every so often.

NP: Iced Earth - Damien

I have a question for all my fellow members...

Who do u think invented the frequently usedmetal hand gesture (forgot the name) Gene Simmons or the guy from Wasp.

I belive the Wasp guy, his story is more belivable.

Ganked from Metal-Archives' page on In Flames:

Interesting Fact: During a cancelled tour in 1999, In Flames ran into Slipknot (whom they strangely admire) and Slipknot gave them some pointers/advice for their music. It was probably because of this that made In Flames change their style of music on ``Reroute To Remain.`` Then they started doing tours with groups like Mudvayne, Slipknot, Soulfly, Chimaira and other nu-metal acts.

In other words, because In Flames had a cancelled tour, they met Slipknot and started making terrible music. Huzzah! *rolls eyes*

One of the few times I fully agree with you =P I still like the new In Flames, just not as much as the old stuff like Lunar Strain up to Clayman.

Cloud Connected is one of the best new In Flames songs, actually.

I think both are kinda okay. The best songs on the new album are "In Search For I", "The Quiet Place", "Evil In a Closet", "My Sweet Shadow" and "Borders And Shading".

But what's up with the production on STYE? Most of the songs seem to have an annoying noise in the background.

You should pick it up and give it a try.

Sounds very interesting to me. Are they well known? The name rings a bell, but I'm not too sure.

Oh, I didn't know he was in WASP, I don't really follow hair metal..All I know was he was the lead of the band Dio, and I think they're pretty good. Holy Diver is a cool song.

Has anyone ever heard of the industrial band Hanzel Und Gretyl? They're coming here with Ministry, so I decided to check them out. Good stuff! I suggest giving them a listen.

Hensel und Gretel? Yeah, I heard of them, I'm also not too fond with industrial, but there are a few good bands in that genre.
