That's what I had expected. I'm actually interested in why exactly it is that you don't believe in anything beyond humans. I definitely think macroevolution is a reality, and it would be dumb to think otherwise, but a lot of the time cosmic evolution and the theory of the big bang raise just as many questions as religion does.
You've got all this matter, compressed into a tiny ball that one day somehow gets a mass of energy and explodes. There's no way to prove it, no real way to explain it and just like religion has to be truly believed without hard evidence.
In my opinion there's no clear cut winner there, between accidental life and premeditated life. Sure people can choose the most "sensible" conclusion based on their own reasoning, but for me neither one has enough proof for me to believe it.

That's also a Greek Orthodox tradition, however it is done very differently. First thing is first, you must be 18 or so, second you don't confess to the priest, he actually helps you confess, through some big ritual thing. I've never done it yet.

so yeah. i have renounced my religion but not my faith. i do believe in god, i just choose to do it differently. i think what i really hated about all the religions is the hypocrisies that are associated with them, the arrogance of the followers, and just the mindless flock of people (i.e. people who still cant stomach Evolution as a fact). lets start with the first on the list. hypocrites. many religious texts say that we should love our neighbors and not judge others. do you see a lot tolerance and exceptance from these bible thumpers? i sure as hell don't.
Now the second, arrogance. i'm fucking tired of these people saying that what they believe is right and everyone else is wrong so they either try to convert you or kill you. yeah. so much for "We are all God's children". the churches wonder why so many people are becoming atheists.
