hotness. Apparently, they did music for Tetsuo II. I haven't seen it, but I saw the first one, which was quite good.

Also, I listened to some of their stuff just now. pretty good.

Winds?

I already listen to them. awesome band. I was actually considering getting one of their albums fairly soon. maybe after I get Gallows Gallery by Sigh and Acceleration by Age of Silence.

anybody else have suggestions? or perhaps folk metal with no screaming? I already listen to Korpiklaani, Cruachan, Agalloch, Saltatio Mortis, Primordial, Bathory, Slough Feg, and Tyr.

I needs more folk and avant-garde.

While in a PM conversation with Goatchrist,I got to the subject of listening to things other than metal. There's a guy who is 'metal' in his world who tells me I'm not metal because I don't listen to it every second of my life. Does not always listening to metal make you any less metal?

I don't think so. It shows how you can be open to other types of music, and isn't that how Metal became popular? Not listening to the same stuff again and again and trying something new?

excuse my use of 'metal' as an adjective.

I've been Fab since the re-design,have you?

I totally forgot about Folkearth. I saw their metal archives page, but never listened to their music. I will look into your other suggestions tonight. thanks.

You're saying Goatchrist said that? That's a surprise, but then again maybe not. I listen to loads of stuff other than metal, including and not limited to: Funk (Parliament-Funkadelic ftw), Jazz, Classic Rock, Stoner Rock, Hip-Hop (olskool), and classical music.

Never limit yourself to one genre of music; that's how you end up like a complete ignorant dick.

Here I am, bored with everything.

I downloaded a few albums last night:
Black Lodge - Login : SataN

I dunno if i like this yet

Capricornus - Alone Against All

Kinda liking this so far

Drudkh - Forgotten Legends

Lovig this. Gonna become a regular listen.

Lutomysl - Zima Lustva

Liking this also.

Also on an unrelated note, anyone know how many tracks played I need before i can have a flash based chart from Last.fm?

i live on long island too, we might be the only metal people there.

what does everyone here think of buying CDs? a few months ago i started buying them in alternative to downloading songs. i like actually owning the music, but it does slow the growth of my metal collection.

i also think that by getting an album you discover some good less popular songs. ive also heard of sites where you can download an album as a .zip, are those any good?

Manegarm is fucking awesome. too much screaming, though. but....so good. Thanks, AllmightyBruce. Skyclad is pretty good. The blonde guy from Adorned Brood looks like a jackass, but the music is pretty good (what little I heard, anyway). Folkearth is good, too.

The most I can give you is Unexpect. They're not really mostly clean vocals but they've got a guy and a girl in the band, and the guy is usually brings the harsh vocals while the girl is backing him up with clean stuff. And of course they switch roles every now and again. I said a bit about them a while back, and they've actually grown on me a bit since then.

I listen to Hawkwind and Pink Floyd, in addition to lots of electronic and ambient.

Your metalness is defined by how much metal you listen to, not how little of other genres you listen to.

So your metality is like...a place that only serves burgers. It's not judged by how it doesn't prepare other foods, but how well the food they make is?

No, we established a system so that 4 people have the power of letting someone in, instead of 2.

I already knew that, and I never said that I had power, I was just flaming a noob. It has nothing to do with power.

I'M NOT retarded, I DO NOT think that limiting a person to metal only is a good thing.

I simply encouraged cornbin to post this conversation in the Metal Hell. He told me that a friend of his said cornbin was not metal enough due to him listening to other styles as well. I strongly disagree with this dumbfuck opinion, as I said.

Thanks for NOT clearing that up, cornbin >:(
