I don't really listen to most of my harder stuff.
I don't actually care for Necrovagist as much as RC.
But they're kind of apples and oranges.
I was on a Metal break, but I'm back.
And just like that....he was gone...

I too dont really listen to much hard stuff anymore. I try to stay away from all the screaming. Besides Lamb of God that's just brilliance there.

I don't listen to them nor do I think they're horrible, but I HATE Lamb of God fans that think that they're very metal for listening to them.

what's wrong with lamb of god ? because they're metalcore ? you might as well say chimaira sucks because they're nu metal, too ...

Yeah, Rotting Christ has a bit more to it.
Both great bands, anyways.

Yeah, I mostly listen to more of my more melodic/easy-going stuff. (Dream Theater, Edge of Sanity (some), Rotting Christ (some)).
Other than that I don't really listen to stuff like Decapitated, Necrophagist, Dark Funeral, etc... Stuff anymore.
Lamb of God... Not my choice, but whatever floats your boat.

oh .... my bad .
i'm sure many more people are gonna flame me soon .... :(
Honestly, I havne't been listening to metal as much as I should. I've been listening to Clutch (not metal) and Parliament-Funkadelic (again, not metal)
I need something to listen to, preferably doom metal.

Blah, something about Doom Metal just... Ahh, it's just so bad. (To me anyways.)
I think maybe because of the slow characteristic it has.

That's what I'm into when it comes to metal.
Strapping Young Lad and some thrash bands being the only exceptions. That and mid-paced stuff.
Here I am, bored with everything.
Comment left for a Rotting Christ song:
"ya all the kick ass bands come from Europe "
It's funny yet sad.

To the skeptics: Yeah, he could have known RC came from Greece and that he thought Europeans produce better music, but I doubt it.

Greece is in Europe.
Explain what you're trying to say.

Night by Devin Townsend.
It kind of did ruin the album knowing that he was on it somewhere. :\At 7/19/07 09:46 PM, Sense-Offender wrote:

It was on the same song, "Repentance".
He had a spoken part along with Steve Vai, Neal Morse, Daniel Gildenlöw, and a couple others. (Yes, Corey Taylor has a part too.)
They all apologize for something.
I just realized Chris Jericho has a part, too.

That's cool, I guess...
Is there some meaning behind it?
Did they apologize for things that are real, or was it all just something they wrote for the song?

A few months? You tease.

Well, the whole song is actually a part of Mike Portnoy's Alcoholic's Anonymous Suite.
It's a lengthy thing to explain but you can see what the songs about it are here: WALAH.
As for the apologizing, I think it was just to stick with theme with the songs.
When they all start apologizing for things, it's pretty random because their was nothing said that would mention these musicians apologizing for things.
It's unclear for what they apologize for but you can see what they said here.

A good day for metal indeed,I just realized the top 2 songs 'ever' int he AP right now are under the category of Heavy Metal. This has probably been asked but who do you listen to in the AP? DemonSlayer12(some dash in there somewhere) isn't the heaviest guy but I still like his stuff.
I've been Fab since the re-design,have you?
JUST BECAUSE I LISTEN TO COREY HART :'[
At 7/19/07 11:29 PM, cornbin wrote: This has probably been asked but who do you listen to in the AP?
If I go to the AP I usually listen to speedmetalmessiah or Demonslayer12

Chimaira do suck :P.

I never listen to as much Metal as I "should".
The past few weeks I've been listening to Linkin Park almost constantly.
Hybrid Theory is amazingly catchy :).
Although my fondness for Tech Death has risen again, so I've been giving Psycroptic and Sleep Terror lots of plays :).
Matthew Chalk is such a fucking good vocalist, I love him :).
.
Jesus, its five 5am.... Bed time.
A real plus (for me) when it comes to Necrophagist is the classic metal tone and production. I really dig that these guys aren't going for a "modern" sound because a "modern" sound basically means the drums are battling the guitars half the time to be heard. The production and levels are mixed brilliantly, with the vocals and bass as well as everything else coming through quite nicely. This is actually pretty rare for a "brutal" metal release.

Hahaha, thanks for taking the edge off me Alex.
I just got disturbed by a huge gust, and I didn't know what the fuck it was. So I'm calming down in front of my grandparent's computer. I feel a little bit better now.
I'm always so nervous while I'm in Arizona.

By Category:
The Fuckin' True Shit:
Megadeth
great but their new stuff isn't as good, since mustaine became all spiritual and stuff.
Metallica
pre saint anger, or post saint anger?
Judas Priest
awsome
Kreator
not bad
Iron Maiden
good, but to be honest, way too many list them. I, as much of a fan as I am, must say they are a bit overrated. That doesn't mean they're bad, just not the "greatest, supercalifragulistically best band in the universe, niagra!" as everyone says.
Exodus
pretty good
Vio-lence
Dark Angel
good
Slayer
good
Kreator
good
Anthrax
great
Black Sabbath
amazing, awsome, kickass, but like maiden, listed WAY too much.
Dio
<3
Annihilator
Heathen
The Heavy Shit:
Decapitated
good
Vader
good
Nile
not bad
Cannibal Corpse
tho i'm not a huge fan of death metal, i like a good amount. Not a huge fan of cannibal corpse tho, mainly because they use way too many pig squeels and are very repetative.
Behemoth
like em
The Melodic Swedish Type Shit:
Nightrage
Dark Tranquillity
not bad
In Flames
like their older work
Soilwork
good
Amon Amarth
one of the few death metal bands i like. :)
Opeth
<3
The Questionable Metal Shit:
Unearth
Killswitch Engage
BlessTheFall
Shadows Fall
Lamb Of God
As I Lay Dying
Chimaira
8 Foot Sativa
Norma Jean
The Acacia Strain
A Life Once Lost
Despite what the name says, they don't really like or allow nu-metal, or metalcore. This is more for "true metal". Not extreme shit necessarily, just not nu-metal/metalcore, but you listed other non-mallcore bands, so no worries.
Other Shit:
Dream Theater
<3
Symphony X
<3
Porcupine Tree
<3
3 Inches Of Blood
agh!
Dragonforce
bleh!
Children Of Bodom
good
Hammerfall
<3
Iced Earth
meh
---------------------------------
A lot of them are very mainstream, but as far as what's required to join this group, you're in. :D
Basically, they have really only one requirement of music taste: they do not allow mallcore.
I guess I'll list some bands that aren't mainstream here that I listen to, as well as a bunch that I didn't list before:
Sodom
Venom
Bathory
Celtic Frost
Cephalic Carnage
Windir
Graveland
Satyricon
Anaal Nakrath
Impaled Nazarene
Avantasia
Stratovarius
Edguy
Rhapsody
Unlord
Tulus
Ancient Rites
Nocturnal Rites
Angel Dust
Penumbra
I Killed The Prom Queen
Parkway Drive
Epica
Elis
The Sins Of Thy Beloved
Burzum
Deicide
Obituary
At The Gates
Blind Guardian
Demons And Wizards
Kataklysm
Darkthrone
Dismember
The Amenta
The Berzerker
Carpathian Forest
Hate Eternal
Cryptopsy
Naglfar
Delirium
Morgoth
Miasma
Apophis
Intestine Baalism
Asphyx
Gorgoroth
Pantera
Fates Warning
Festering Sore
That list is unnecessarily long seeing as I'm already in. Oh well, I guess I'll stop trying to "prove myself" and just talk shit with you guys. For now though, I'm going to bed.
