I love those bands, yet I am still a member (barring my other metal likes and loves) if those were on my main list, would I still be able to join?

Slipknot is an extreme form of nu, I'd say? Well, it is METAL.
Mudvayne is Nu METAL.
SoaD is also Nu METAL.

That wouldn't be a problem :)

Linkin Park is nu-pop rock
Nirvana is grunge
Evanescence is Linkin Park with female vocals.

thanks for clearing that up... lol it's funny because it seems that each one of us runs an I gues "department" of this club, me nu-metal, you death and melodic power and such, and the others grindcore and such

Indeed :) or Varggoth for Black Metal, etc.

Anyone heard of "Edge Of Sanity"? I just heard some of their "Crimson II" album, it rocked. They are quite brutal but melodic death.

1. Learn how to spell correctly.
2. No reason for running around in every topic screaming "Slipknot suxx!"
3. What are your favourite bands? I can't remember and I'm too lazy to search.

There should be a rule in this club against stupid people who can't spell or have never heard the word grammar.

If words were wisdom, I'd be talking even more.

Jack, I don't know if I have asked you that yet, but have you heard of Dew-Scented? They are similar to Slayer, but I actually like them more.

Nope but I'll go check them out. Anyway I've heard a song by some band named Down. It's mostly composed of former Pantera members. It's not that good but still worth listening to.

Sounds interesting, I'll look for it. Well, this is the video of one of my current favourite songs by Hypocrisy, watch it and tell me what you think ;) I'm in love with this song.

NP: Edge Of Sanity - Incantation

Yeah I love edge of sanity, Crimson 1 is better though IMO lol i remember I made a topic about them ages ago when the forums was up, about 2 days before it wnet down, none of you had heard of them back then, I have all their albums, their main guy, Dan Swano, is also in bloodbath and nightingale, he was the only original member who played on crimson 2.

My favourite album by them (excluding the crimsons) is Purgatory Afterglow.

Looks like I have to check out Crimson I . You posted it on the old forums? Ah, that's why I remembered the artwork of the crimson II cover :)

My favourite album by them (excluding the crimsons) is Purgatory Afterglow.

Heard only one song off it, but it was good.

ironmaiden64, give a shout when you have some online :)

Falkowski, do you know Kataklysm? They are also pretty good, their newest release "Serenity In Fire" is good. I love "As I slither"

I Saw the As I Slither video on nuclearblasts website and really liked it, I meant to check them out but never got around to it, so theyre definetly worth a look?

Also what song have you heard from Purgatory Afterglow?

Yay, I remembered this place ^^ Didn't think to check back in this original thread on the NG forums when it went down.

I found it again because Falkowski keeps badgering me to make him a new sig to match the Xanga banner he made me make him...

Anyway, how are things everyone? Rocking along I hope. Done a couple of metal-related pics you guys might be interested in since the forums went west:

The Riders of Theli

Midnattens Widunder

And discovered a load more bands.

Edge of Sanity are awesome btw, probably my favourite Melodic Death band.

Yeah thats not a bad song, but its actually the real odd-ball on the album, sounds more like something by entombed then most of their stuff.

Also i finally got around to the name change I meant to do ages ago!

Anyone here like Enforsaken?
They aren't anything too special admittedly but one of the best american melodic death metal bands i've heard.
Check out the song by them called "Tales of Bitterness"

Actually talking about american melodic death, for something a little heavier and a really good band too (Amazing Drummer) check out Arsis!

Thats a real hard one, Arsis - A celebration of guilt was a grat debut, the new In Falmes dissapointed me, as suprisingly did the new Killswitch Engage album,
Thought im going to probably change my mind when I find what cd I forgot came out this year, Im going to go with "Therion - Lemuria", as it marked a return to and expansion of some of the sounds they experimented on in earlier albums, the return of the heavy vocals and increase in orchestral arrangements make it a class album
