I'm really picky about which death metal bands I want to listen to. I only want to listen to death metal bands that don't sound generic and don't sound too repetitive to me. So far, I've only really enjoyed a very few amount of death metal bands such as Death and Morbid Angel. For black metal, I really don't know, but I should give some of the bands from that genre a try.
