yeah. i have to have some kind of melody or complexity for me to enjoy it. now if i got pissed off a lot then black/brutal/hardcore sounds like the perfect thing to turn my anger into rage and beat some hippies >:) but i'm far too laid back. nothing really affects me anymore.

Shagrath is the most annoying and yet hilarious black metallers ever. I don't take him seriously at all. I watched a video of him fighting Dani Filth. While Dani is an overweight fag, Shagrath doesn't know how to fight. Hell, I could take him. And, Other metal>Death metal

And I wrote a power ballad. just cuz I can.

And when I saw the light in the sky
A false hope an illusion
Permeated by my death
as the life bled from my heart
All the chances fading away
all potential now gone...

...And a voice said to me
Those words which do not disappear
"Your time has not yet come
You were deceived by forces unknown..."

Through misty eyes I return
My corporeal body anew
With power in my words for I have seen
The very power of the gods

"Go on my son, live for those who have died..."

My only hope
Vanquished from me
the thread of life has spun
my fate is told
I am reborn
A power beyond reckoning
A voice in your dream
With my sword in my hands
I shall be the hand of light
Who shall fight
When all lights have dimmed
And the power of the spirit
Has been weakened by the evil

Through misty eyes I return
my justice unfailing
with power in my words for I have seen
The very heart of the light

We face the hordes
Great in number and size
Lined up in a macabre march
marching to their death

I am immortal
And I shall fight for the weak
and my foes shall fear me
For I am the vengeance of light
The power of the stars

But now I meet my end
my journey is over now
And my fate has told
I have died and been reborn
For through death I achieve immortality
And this day shall be eternal...

Im sorry, it's just the way I feel.

Just full of ridiculous themes, lyrically and musically (I use "music" in the broadest sense of the word here).

Same as hardcore hardcore brutal death metal.

Unfortunately, many people have a criminal misunderstanding of black metal.

Black metal, in its truest sense to those who created the modern form of it (the second wave bands like Emperor and Mayhem) were melodic and centered around atmosphere. The black metal you refer to is a caricature of real black metal, a ridiculous parody of the real deal. The real deal does not aim to show off, create a spectacle, or anything... rather, it aims to create an anonymous gesture of hate through neoclassical forms and melodies. It is nameless, and it is centered around the musical ideas conveyed, rather than the conveyor. Darkthrone are NOT a good example of black metal. They're the reason black metal sucks at times.

In short, true black metal is melodic and has complex ideas and is more musical than several metal genres, if not difficult to absorb at first and rather dense in nature.

Rhyming is for fags.

Naw, it's because rhyming detracts from the overall message. I don't believe in writing in meter, nor do I believe in writing in rhyme. It's not meant to sound like a sing songy poem. It's meant to sound like a story. And when it's sung, it sounds like prose, not poetry. I write prose, not poetry, in my spare time, and I find prose sends the message better than some long, drawn out poem.

Well the prose/poem thing all depends on how you sing it. If its in death vocals it would be ok. Yet you said its a power ballad sowith the length of it most people would tune out for they like to be drawn along. With a rhyme you are always waiting to see what word it will rhyme with things like that. Myself am not a fan of power metal too much it sounds like pokemon battle theme to me. Yet I do like some stuff. So i guess it will work out well if your into power metal. The theme of its cool though.

Centurion, I can't believe you'd say that about Slayer WITH MY ALT!!!
Farðu Til helvítis.
There are WAY more anti-Christian bands out there, take Gorgoroth for example, on their homepage, http://www.gorgoroth.org/ This says on the wrong page:

"This eternal accusation against Christianity I shall write upon all walls, wherever walls are to be found - I have letters that even the blind will be able to see... I call Christianity the one great curse, the one great intrinsic depravity, the one great instinct of revenge, for which no means are venomous enough, or secret, subterranean and small enough, - I call it the one immortal blemish upon the human race..."

And,yeah, I HAD typed a 4000 character flame on you, But I pressed backspace :(

You called Slayer worse than Mallcore, Worse than Nu, Worse than Slipknot and Limp Bizkit.

I tend to sing like I'm telling a story, not singing a poem. And my voice is lower than most power metal singers (I tend to sing in a baritone range instead of soprano range). There's a personal nature in my voice, as if I'm telling the story to YOU. Hence why whenever I pickup a guitar nowadays, I play folk. Cuz folk is a man with an acoustic guitar telling a story. Though my stories are usually stoned ramblings that somehow manage to be coherent.

Argh.... theres 2 upcoming gig in my town and they all consist of about 99% pure garbage metalcore.
The only bands that arn't metalcore that are plaing are:
Red Meance [No flyer]
The Sticklands [ Gig Flyer ]

It's sad really that the nly bands on my city are either metalcore, emo or screamo.

On a more cheerful note, I purchased quite a rad Motörhead patch for my beanie :)
