You might not want to, since it's not that Metal makes people smart, but the intelligent people whom like metal.
And just like that....he was gone...

The Metal Effect. i love that book. "If Manliness had a score it would be metal. no other music requires you to die in order to enjoy it fully" awesome.

I've wanted that book for a while. That's one of the few parts I've read from the book.

so you're saying that because we are smart, we like metal, not vice versa.
that's probably true, but what about classical, my mom did that mozart on the womb stuff for me and i turned out pretty smart, also she never did any of that baby talk shit, she said she read it gives kids better "vocabulary", i think thats true because i knew an ass load of swears by age 10

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

Not the new breed *crys*
People at my school grow their hair, try and act different and say they listen to heavy metal, eg, Slipknot, Korn, HIM, Bullet for my valentine.
There's only a group of real metal heads, and thats in six form. Not in my year. So I can't talk about music while around most of my friends D:

I do, I really do! Especially the lyrics of sweating bullets by megadeth, quite intriguing.

Lol, I do that sometimes, just like " So guys, listened to any Necrophagist lately?"
And they're all like " omfg slipknot is teh bezt omfg lolololooloo"
And I'm like :"Anyway...I like the egyptian style that Nile have, I Think it fits the death metal style very nicely"
Then they're like" LOL DETH METALZ , LIEK SLIPKNAWT?!"
Then I kill them for call Shitcunt death metal.
Metalheads are the most intelligent, but they're also the most pretentious and arrogant :P

for me at uni there are no metal heads ok their are but they are the stereo typical metal heads which annoys the hell outta me (i personally wear the clothes i want etc. i dont feel the need to get myself a leather trench coat and grow my hair long) back home i have a group of friends who like metal but are more stuck with the mainstream and mostly abhor black metal their likings sit with CoB, In Flames (new and mid carrier, which i dont mind myself) and more to do with power, melodic death, and thrash all substantial genres but all full of their fair share of crap which seems to find their way into their CD collections. there is one guy with a passing interest in black metal who i have been trying to convert but it hasnt succeeded

I hate the average stereotypical metalhead. There is about five in my year, fuckers, grow their hair long and black and think it's cool to leave it greasy and dandruff infested. People call me a mosher without hygiene problems...Yet I want to be nothing like them.
I wear what I feel looks good. My favorite being darker blue jeans, grey Celtic top, has a symbol in the middle (no idea what it is), with a black zip-top (maybe denim) over that. Not exactly brutal.
While they were tracksuits.

The new breed around these parts wear skin tight jeans and t-shirts two sizes too small for them, dye their hair black and cut it in that godawful emo-fringe thing, and listen to bands like The Used and Atreyu.
And somehow this constitutes being a metalhead. Saw a damn screamo band calling themselves 'death metal' for fuck's sake. >:( It's getting out of hand :(
