FINALLY someone i can agree with about megadeth, and most thrash in general :P
Not all thrash is bad. Testament is good. They have a demonic like incorporation into their music. Just listen to Diciples of the Watch. Without thrash there would be no Black metal.

see now for me thrash needs to have a certain taint to it for me to find it enjoyable, for example i like a bit of nevermore for its slightly darker feel to it (i think thats classed as as thrash) i hate Annihilator cos its just bore's me same with megadeth although i do somewhat despise Mustaines voice. i can tolerate a bit of slayer because of the crazyness to it and kind of the same with venom.

and without stuff like the blues and jazz there would be no rock and therefore no metal, i prefer the offspring of thrash then thrash itself, like how you would rather hang out with your friend rather then your friends dad :P

Thrash is great once you get into more obscure bands. Bands like Vio-lence, Exhorder, Dark Angel, Exodus, Hirax, Nuclear Assault, SOD, etc. are pure bred thrash with balls to prove it.

Exodus are amazing, but I thought they were quite well known?

On the topic of Megadeth:

Meh, I can take 'em or leave 'em. Not bad, but not amazing either in my opinion.

Response to Metal Hell 2007-05-14 15:49:02

Megadeth are good; they were sort of progressive thrash, and I like that. However, they're not godly, they were just good.

Hey, bishes.

I'm back, and with a killer hairstyle!

The Disposable Heroes would be going a lot better if I could do anything close to James' voice. Actually, I would sound better performing them as Mark Hunter did (who, is brilliant, regardless of what the majority of the population think). I got the chorus for Where Dragons Fight done.

Where Dragons Rule
Where Dragons fight
Where Dragons live
And where Dragons die
Above the snow capped mountains
In a flurry of blood and fire
The Dragons fight for supremecy
Their situation is dire!
This is...
(heavy bass playing and drum beats)
Where Dragons fight!

I've decided to abandon it trying to sound anything like Dragonforce, I just can't play that fast, also, I think my brother sprained his wrist trying to play as fast as Steve. It sounds typically power-metallish, just not as fast as Dragonforce.

And I swear...I am seriously considering stealing money out of my mum's purse and buying that fucking guitar myself

You should try Kreator and Celtic Frost if you want blackened thrash

Kreator and Celtic Frost are nowhere near blackened thrash. First off, Celtic Frost isn't thrash, and second, Destroyer 666 is a good blackened thrash band.

I suppose, but I found out about them quite soon after I started listening to metal, so they can't be that obscure...bleh.

Anyway, doesn't matter. They Kick ass regardless.

I could do with getting some more stuff by Exodus, any recommendations for which albums?

Get Tempo of the Damned, then stop. Those three albums are great, the others are, except some songs, boring.

I got Operation: Mindcrime (Queensryche) a few days ago, and I love it. It's got that genuine 80's flamboyance, yet has the prog-ish intelligence. I love it.

They've only produced 3 good albums? I find that hard to believe...

Regardless, I'll get Tempo o the damned and then have a look at some other stuff and make my own mind up.

The only one I actually own is Horror Show, but I've downloaded the rest of their discography. Despite how mediocre people calling Horror Show I like it.
